Lee Sin's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 13
Half an hour later.
The yacht had already left the bustling Palermo harbor far behind.
This yacht wasn’t particularly large, measuring about ten meters in length.
The captain obediently steered from the cabin, while Lee Sin lay comfortably on the small deck’s sunbed, sipping on the “free” iced drink stored on the yacht, and enjoying the exotic seaside scenery.
Under the sunlight, the sea waves were calm and mirror-like, resembling an endless sapphire mirror, brilliant and blue.
The Mediterranean’s refreshing, moist breeze carried a faint scent of the sea, making the air on the boat smell…
“Horrible.”
Lee Sin pinched his nose, his face full of disdain.
His sense of smell had heightened significantly after leveling up, making him highly sensitive to any strong odors.
To cover this pungent smell, he couldn’t help but pick up a lighter “borrowed” from the captain and light a cigarette also “borrowed” from the captain.
Oh, and during this friendly interaction, Lee Sin also politely remembered the name of the portly captain:
“Andrew, what exactly is that smell?”
“Well…”
“You’d better not smoke right now.”
The unfortunate captain named Andrew glanced at Lee Sin nervously and muttered:
“If I’m not mistaken, it’s… an oil leak.”
“An oil leak?”
“How can this boat have an oil leak?”
Lee Sin’s expression changed slightly, and he quickly snuffed out the cigarette he had just lit.
Though his tone wasn’t particularly menacing, after the series of threats, intimidation, and kidnapping, poor Andrew had already seen Lee Sin as a ravenous wolf in human skin.
He tried to hide his dissatisfaction, carefully responding:
“Bald… no… sir.”
“I told you from the start—the fuel tank has a problem and needs to be sent back to the dock for repairs.”
“But you… you insisted on me taking it out.”
Despite his efforts to conceal it, he couldn’t hide the resentful tone of being forced into wrongdoing.
“Oh… hahaha.”
Lee Sin didn’t trouble the unfortunate Andrew.
He rubbed his smooth head, laughing nonchalantly:
“You did mention that.”
“So, can the boat still move?”
“If it can, take us farther away from where we were.”
Andrew’s eyes darted around as he replied meaningfully:
“Though there are signs of an oil leak, it’s still barely moving.”
“But…”
“If we don’t dock soon, it might break down at sea.”
“If it gets worse, it could catch fire. In that case, we’d all be doomed.”
“Oh…”
Lee Sin responded casually:
Clearly, Andrew was trying to urge him to find a place to dock and leave safely.
But he didn’t think Andrew was lying either.
Lee Sin could smell that as the yacht continued to sail, the pungent fuel odor was indeed growing stronger.
“Let’s find a small island ahead to dock.”
Lee Sin said sensibly:
“Don’t worry, I’m just a passerby.”
“As long as you cooperate, I’ll let you leave safely.”
“A passerby…”
“Is there any passerby who kidnaps and threatens people with guns?”
Andrew’s mouth twitched, but he didn’t dare voice his resentment.
He forced a smile and replied:
“Alright, sir.”
“There’s a good island ahead where you can switch to a new boat.”
“Don’t worry…” Andrew added cleverly: “There’s not even a police station on that island, so I won’t report you.”
“Mm.”
Lee Sin responded noncommittally and turned back to enjoy the wonderful sunshine at sea.
Just then…
With his keen hearing, he picked up the sound of an engine rumbling from the distant sea:
“A boat?”
“There’s a boat following us!”
For safety, Lee Sin instinctively entered his digitized mode.
He instantly lost his sight, but his already keen hearing was amplified dozens of times.
In “Blind Monk” mode, the sound became clearer:
“A speedboat is catching up, moving very fast.”
“There’s only one person on the boat.”
“200 meters, 180 meters, 140 meters… it’s getting closer.”
“No doubt, it’s coming for us!”
Lee Sin’s tone turned serious:
“Captain!”
“Give it full throttle, as fast as you can!”
“Huh?”
Andrew didn’t quite understand:
“Go faster?”
“This oil leak isn’t fixed yet. If we push it too hard, I think there might be trouble.”
“I don’t care what you think, I care what I think!”
Lee Sin urged forcefully: “Push it to the limit!”
“Or else, if that boat behind us is here to kill me—do you think they’ll spare you?”
“This, this…”
“Kill… Mafia?”
“Oh God, what have I gotten myself into!”
Andrew’s face broke out in a greasy sweat.
Then, he nervously pushed the boat’s speed to the maximum, as Lee Sin instructed.
Unfortunately, this yacht’s speed was limited. No matter how much power he gave it, they couldn’t shake off the speedboat behind them.
The distance between the two boats kept closing.
120 meters, 100 meters, 70 meters, 50 meters…
When there were only fifty meters left between the two boats, the speedboat, which had been moving at full speed, suddenly slowed down, maintaining a steady distance behind the yacht.
“Huh?”
“Why isn’t that boat chasing us?”
Lee Sin was puzzled, but Andrew sighed with relief:
“Maybe it’s not an assassin, just a passing tourist.”
“Many tourists rent speedboats to tour the Mediterranean. It’s normal to meet them at sea.”
“Really?”
Lee Sin remained on guard.
But things seemed just as Andrew said—the speedboat driver showed no hostility:
He didn’t accelerate to close in for a boarding fight, nor did he take out any weapons to attack from a distance. He quietly drove the speedboat, maintaining a fifty-meter gap.
Several minutes passed, and the driver still showed no abnormal behavior.
“Could I be overthinking?”
“No… no abnormal behavior is the most abnormal!”
“The sea is vast. If he were just a passing tourist, why would he insist on following us?”
With no actions from the driver, Lee Sin grew even more serious.
He remained in digitized mode, not relaxing for a moment.
Meanwhile, on the deck below him, a small “shark” silently emerged from a shallow pool of water.
—
At the same time, on the speedboat.
A young man with orange hair was intently staring at Lee Sin on the yacht’s deck.
The captain couldn’t see it, but he could—above Lee Sin’s head floated a strange red frame.
This red health bar could only be seen by those the system identified as “enemies,” a clear sign Lee Sin was in digitized mode.
This man was Squalo, the most trusted member of the Boss’s personal guard and a renowned maritime warfare expert.
“Damn… he’s really cautious.”
“Even after waiting this long, he’s not canceling his ‘Stand ability’?”
“Troublesome… so troublesome!”
Squalo grumbled impatiently:
“According to the Boss’s information, that bald guy has a body like a ‘video game character.’”
“A direct fight would take a lot of effort.”
He hadn’t attacked directly, hoping Lee Sin would lower his guard and cancel his digitization, then command his Stand to ambush, ideally finishing the fight in one blow.
Unfortunately, Lee Sin wasn’t that careless.
“Forget it.”
“I’ll just attack directly!”
“I need to take his head quickly so I can still make it back for lunch with Tiziano.”
Tiziano was his partner, and they were always inseparable.
But this mission was urgent, and Tiziano’s Stand ability wasn’t suited for direct combat, so Squalo came alone to chase Lee Sin.
As he murmured his partner’s name, his tone was relaxed.
Facing an imminent battle, Squalo’s biggest concern was whether to order Margherita pizza or squid ink pasta for lunch with Tiziano.
This wasn’t arrogance; it was confidence.
As long as the battlefield was the vast sea, Squalo had absolute confidence in his Stand ability:
“Go—”
“Clash!”
