Lee Sin's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 17
The waves surged, the wind howled, and the giant shark named “Clash” surged forward, bringing with it a deathly aura that permeated the air.
Facing the terrifying maw of the giant shark, Lee Sin calmly lit a cigarette.
At this moment, time seemed to stand still.
His gaze pierced through the wind, waves, and the obstructing giant shark, fixing on Squalo’s confused and uncertain face:
“Teleportation with no cooldown, unparalleled speed, your Stand is indeed formidable.”
“To fight against such an agile Stand, it would make sense to bypass the Stand and attack the user directly, right?”
“So then…”
“Why didn’t I do that?”
“Why?!” Squalo asked, almost involuntarily.
He initially thought Lee Sin was simply too slow-witted to figure out how to deal with “Clash,” but now it seemed the situation was more complicated.
“Because I was waiting.”
“Waiting for the right moment to strike back.”
Lee Sin raised his hand, pointing the lit cigarette at the giant shark rushing towards him:
“Look closely—”
“Is there something different about your Stand?”
“What?”
Squalo’s expression froze, and he hurriedly looked at the menacing giant shark fixed on the sea’s surface.
At first glance, its appearance seemed unchanged:
Its massive body was covered in a hard chitinous armor, and its slightly open, blood-red mouth displayed rows of sharp, ghostly white teeth that emitted a chilling gleam.
Large amounts of seawater clung to its streamlined body, refracting multicolored light under the sunlight.
“Wait…”
“That light is wrong…”
“The rainbow-like colors aren’t something seawater can produce!”
Squalo’s face turned pale:
“Clash’s body isn’t covered in seawater, but…”
“Gasoline!”
He was instantly struck with shock:
“When?”
“When did he splash gasoline on Clash?”
“That wasn’t me,” Lee Sin said, his tone calm.
“Your Stand did it itself.”
Time seemed to “pause” as Lee Sin began explaining in the local style:
“When I figured out your Stand’s ability was to teleport through water, I also determined from the varying disturbances caused by its actions that its size changes based on the area of the water.”
“When it teleports to a small puddle, it’s only a few centimeters big.”
“But when it teleports to a larger body of water, it can expand to several meters in length.”
“At that moment, I thought:”
“If seawater is also water, what would happen if it teleported to the sea…”
“Would it become an enormous beast I couldn’t possibly defeat?”
He paused, his voice filled with confident calculation:
“So…”
“Since then, I’ve been preparing for this terrible scenario.”
Squalo’s face became exceedingly grim.
Lee Sin’s words dug into his deepest fears, like a graverobber’s spade uncovering a hidden treasure:
“You know, this boat has been leaking oil even before your attack.”
“It might be hard to see from your position, but I knew the sea surface behind this yacht was already covered with a thick film of oil.”
“I deliberately stalled, letting the yacht leak more gasoline, increasing the size of the oil film—”
“Big enough to cover a sea monster!”
Lee Sin had known from the start that with the vast ocean around him and the enemy able to teleport infinitely through water, he could never bypass the powerful Stand to attack Squalo directly.
So, he chose to attack the Stand itself.
But to harm a sea monster capable of becoming a giant, he had to utilize the environment’s available forces.
He had deliberately stalled for time, allowing the sea surface behind the yacht to gather a large, thick film of oil.
Then, he fired a Sonic Wave at Squalo—
Not to attack him directly, but to force Squalo to command “Clash” to teleport and block the attack.
As expected, the opponent fell into the trap.
“If you were quicker, you could have dodged the Sonic Wave yourself.”
“But you Stand users…”
“Too reliant on your so-called ‘invincible’ Stand abilities, you never consider the less convenient options.”
Lee Sin’s tone was filled with a faint sense of sarcasm:
“So, seeing my Sonic Wave, you had your Stand block it.”
“Just like those nouveau riche who can’t resist showing off their luxurious clothes.”
“Damn it!”
Squalo finally realized his fatal mistake:
“I’ve been completely duped…”
“That area was already covered in gasoline!”
“By having ‘Clash’ teleport to block the attack, I sent my Stand into a trap!”
But it was too late to correct the mistake.
Lee Sin had already raised his hand, aiming at the monstrous sea beast, and flicked the lit cigarette:
“So…”
“Burn!”
Due to the “time stop” rules of the world, Lee Sin hadn’t wasted any time on dialogue or given the enemy any forewarning of his attack.
So, by the time Squalo realized the situation and tried to command “Clash” to teleport away—
The cigarette, precise and swift in its flight, collided with “Clash’s” oil-covered body.
Boom!
Flames erupted.
“Clash’s” mountainous body turned into a massive torch, with crimson flames shooting skyward.
“Ah!!”
Squalo screamed in agony.
The damage inflicted on the Stand instantly reflected on the user.
As the giant shark burned in the fiery oil, Squalo felt like he was being consumed by fire, his body covered in charred, red burns.
Instinctively, he wanted to command “Clash” to teleport into the sea to extinguish the fire, but the intense pain disrupted his concentration, breaking his control over the Stand.
The Stand is the embodiment of the user’s mental energy, and without focus, the Stand quickly loses control.
At this moment, the massive “Clash” thrashed on the sea like a dying whale.
It lost control, mimicking its owner’s trembling agony, and started rolling wildly on the water’s surface.
Quickly…
Squalo’s spirit collapsed under the pain.
He couldn’t maintain “Clash’s” presence, much less its gigantic form.
The terrifying giant shark that had dominated the sea vanished instantly.
What remained were the surging waves, the raging flames not yet extinguished, and the blue sea reflecting the crimson light.
The sea burned, waves roared.
Lee Sin remained calm, even considering lighting another cigarette for himself.
