Lee Sin's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 23
Carne, who came with such aggression, was effortlessly killed by Lee Sin.
After experiencing three life-and-death battles, Lee Sin couldn’t believe he’d encounter such an easy opponent. But the system prompt and the experience gauge that suddenly increased were clear indicators that this person was indeed dead.
“Really dead?” Lee Sin forced himself to accept this absurd reality and cautiously began to move around Carne’s corpse to leave the area.
However, just as he took his first step, a faint sound emanated from the forest—the slight rustling of an unknown object moving through the forest floor. The sound came from close to Carne’s corpse and was very near to Lee Sin.
“Something’s definitely wrong!”
In his data visualization mode, Lee Sin couldn’t see, but he could construct a rough outline of the enemy through sound waves in his mind. At this moment, what he sensed wasn’t human—it didn’t even have a human shape. It was a mass, roughly the size of a basketball, constantly morphing and writhing—a lump of flesh.
This lump of flesh, like a skinned monster, was covered with crisscrossing grooves, unspeakable tendrils, and clusters of bubble-like tumors. Each movement produced the sickening sound of viscous dark red liquid coursing through its flesh.
“What the hell is this thing? It seems to have emerged from Carne’s body, but Carne was clearly dead. Could it be… a Stand that requires the user’s sacrifice to activate?”
Even someone as composed as Lee Sin couldn’t help but feel a creeping sense of horror. He instinctively quickened his retreat, but the grotesque lump of flesh seemed to lock onto him, accelerating its movements as he did.
As Lee Sin fled, the lump of flesh pursued relentlessly. It no longer appeared sluggish and cumbersome, instead using its gelatinous body to leap and bound through the forest with surprising agility, like a monkey. No matter how much Lee Sin increased his speed, it always seemed just a bit faster. The distance between them gradually closed, creating an increasingly horrifying situation.
Moreover…
“Why does it feel like… this thing is not only getting faster but also growing larger!” Lee Sin’s heart sank. The flesh mass was consuming everything in its path—trees, plants, insects. These objects were absorbed into its grotesque body, feeding its twisted, monstrous form.
The mass of flesh moved through the forest, devouring everything, like a never-satisfied beast, constantly feeding, growing, morphing, and expanding.
“Damn! It’s absorbing energy from these things!” Lee Sin’s expression turned grim. “This thing can grow stronger by consuming energy. If I let it continue to grow, it will become invincible. No… I can’t keep running. Its speed will always be slightly faster than mine; I’ll never outrun it.”
Lee Sin quickly assessed his surroundings, listening intently to every sound. “This artificial forest has no birds or animals, and there are no people within a 300-meter radius. Even if I wanted to use Echo Strike to escape, I couldn’t find a target to mark with Sonic Wave. Running will only lead to death…”
Sensing the flesh mass almost touching his back, Lee Sin made a bold decision. “I must destroy it before it becomes completely invincible!”
Lee Sin abruptly stopped, aiming his gun at the approaching monstrosity. “Damn it! If you’re dead, stay dead!”
He fired four shots in rapid succession at point-blank range, tearing large, ghastly holes into the lump of flesh. Sticky, crimson liquid spewed from the wounds, but it was useless.
“Squish, squish…” In a repulsive writhing sound, the flesh mass rapidly healed itself. The bullets seemed to be swallowed by it, disappearing without a trace.
“No way? Even bullets can’t hurt it!” Lee Sin’s face turned grim. His body was only so strong, and firearms were his most powerful attack method. If modern weaponry couldn’t harm this monster, he had no way to fight back.
Lee Sin instinctively wanted to run, but he had already paid the price for his earlier mistake. The flesh mass remained unharmed by the bullets, while his futile retaliation had slowed him down, leaving him vulnerable.
“Whoosh!” The lump of flesh swung its grotesque tendrils, pouncing at Lee Sin with terrifying speed. In an instant, it latched onto his body.
Lee Sin instinctively tried to shake it off, but it clung to him like melted toffee, sticking tightly. It wrapped around his chest, constantly writhing and morphing. Tendrils sprouted like overgrown vines, covering most of his body and locking his joints.
In this situation, Lee Sin was completely immobilized. Then, the disgusting flesh mass began writhing more intensely, seemingly eager to tear Lee Sin’s skin and flesh apart and consume him whole.
Although his data-visualized body couldn’t be destroyed, its attempts at consuming failed. No matter how much it wriggled, pressed, and tore, Lee Sin’s body would instantly regenerate.
However, this didn’t mean he wasn’t harmed by the violent attempts at consumption.
92%… 83%… 75%…
His health points continued to drop under the flesh mass’s assault. If he couldn’t break free, he had at most eight seconds left.
But the problem was…
“I can’t break free; it’s impossible!” The monster was not only fast and resilient but also immensely strong. Lee Sin, like an insect caught in a spider’s web, could only watch as the spider’s silk enveloped him, piece by piece, as it began to consume him.
“How laughable… I call myself a high-level player, yet… after just half a day in this ‘game,’ I might actually die?”
As the flesh mass tightened around him, Lee Sin saw no hope of escape and nearly gave up thinking.
However, at that moment, the faint sound of a car engine reached his ears from the coastal road outside the forest. Though distant, the sound was clear to Lee Sin’s sharp hearing.
The flesh mass continued its relentless assault, oblivious to the sound. But Lee Sin’s eyes brightened. “A car? There’s hope!”
