Lee Sin's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 26
Lee Sin tried his best to make his expression gentle, to avoid scaring off the people on the bus who had indirectly saved his life.
However, in just the next moment, his face suddenly showed a look of indescribable shock:
“This…”
“The flesh blob, that monster actually caught up!”
Indeed, the strange flesh blob that had nearly devoured Lee Sin in the forest was now tracking Lee Sin’s Resonating Strike escape path at an alarming speed, closing in on the bus he was currently on.
Gale winds swept over its grotesque body, and the sound waves of tearing air rolled incessantly.
30 meters, 20 meters, 10 meters…
By the time Lee Sin realized he hadn’t shaken off the flesh blob, it was already within 10 meters of the bus.
In other words, it had never been far behind Lee Sin’s Resonating Strike in the first place.
“How is this possible?”
Lee Sin’s expression grew increasingly grim:
“When I used Resonating Strike, the speed felt faster than a high-speed train at full throttle. Yet this monster can keep up with even that speed?!”
“Too much…”
“Why do I keep encountering such deadly freaks today?”
He gritted his teeth tightly and shouted to the group of shocked middle school students in front of him:
“Quick!”
“If you don’t want to die, get to the front of the bus!”
“Huh?”
The middle schoolers couldn’t comprehend Lee Sin’s urgency; they were still stunned by the sudden appearance of a bald man in the bus.
The driver, sitting at the front, was even slower to react. It wasn’t until now that he realized some commotion was happening at the back of the bus.
But he soon found out it was much more than just a commotion.
Because the pulsating, transforming blob of flesh had already leapt from the road and clung tightly to the back window of the bus.
“Crunch, crunch…”
The blob began devouring the bus’s rear metal and glass with a sound that was both eerie and terrifying.
It seemed capable of consuming anything, and soon, the rear windshield and metal body of the bus were completely eaten away.
In their place was a pulsating, grotesque wall of flesh.
The blob seemed to view the bus as a nurturing bed, spreading its grotesque tendrils throughout the rear interior of the bus, covering every seat and corner with disgusting flesh lumps.
Lee Sin should be grateful he was blind; otherwise, the sight alone would have made his skin crawl with revulsion.
But even just hearing the close, constant squelching of the flesh blob was enough to disturb him deeply:
“Damn it…”
“What now… This monster can keep up with the speed of Resonating Strike. How can I deal with it?”
He stood there, frozen, without the will to run anymore.
His prior experiences had shown that fleeing was futile against a creature whose speed seemed limitless.
As Lee Sin remained motionless in confusion, the students on the bus were equally petrified.
Although they couldn’t see the eldritch horror of the malevolent Stand, they could witness the bus’s metal shell twisting and vanishing into nothingness.
“Oh my God!!”
The Lord above gained a group of terrified new believers:
Their eyes passed through the ghostly, “transparent” flesh blob to stare at the unimpeded view outside the bus.
“The back of the bus… The window, the metal, the seats… they’re all gone!”
“Is this… a haunting?!”
The middle school students, panic-stricken, instinctively rushed to the front of the bus, where it still seemed safe.
But then…
The flesh blob, like a shark that had scented blood, suddenly sprang from the back and lunged at the fastest-moving boy.
“Ah!!”
The boy, now pinned by the blob, screamed in terror.
He instinctively struggled against the “ghost” holding him down, but the blob’s tendrils quickly bound his flailing limbs.
“This…”
Sensing the scene, Lee Sin’s heart skipped a beat:
“It’s not attacking me but targeting an unrelated kid?”
“Why? Could it be…”
After a brief thought, he murmured to himself in realization:
“Wrong!”
“I was wrong from the start. This thing doesn’t have intelligence; it’s acting on instinct.”
“It wasn’t targeting me specifically but rather following a pre-set program—”
“Attack the fastest-moving target within its sensing range!”
Realizing this, Lee Sin hurriedly shouted to the students still scrambling towards the front:
“Don’t move!”
“Everyone, stay still!”
“Whoever moves the fastest will die!”
Lee Sin’s shouting had some effect.
The middle schoolers, startled by his roar, instinctively stopped their chaotic pushing.
Including Lee Sin, everyone on the bus now stood stiffly, as if playing a game of “statues.”
Of course, the unlucky boy ensnared by the blob continued to wail in pain.
If nothing unexpected happened, he would be devoured by the flesh blob within seconds, just like the vanished glass and seats.
However…
At this moment, a blond boy stood up from his seat.
It was Giorno Giovanna, the 13-year-old ordinary middle school student, and the protagonist Lee Sin came to Naples to find.
“Hey!”
“Kid, didn’t I say not to move!”
Lee Sin barked at the ‘unknown kid’ trying to court death, but he quickly noticed something unusual:
No…
That boy’s breathing and heartbeat aren’t erratic.
Despite being just a bystander, he’s not panicking?
“Thanks for your concern.”
Giorno replied calmly, “But I believe I can save my classmate.”
“Huh?”
Lee Sin faintly realized something: “Are you also a Stand…”
Before he could finish his question, Giorno acted:
“You said the flesh blob targets based on ‘movement speed,’ right?”
“If that’s the case, then…”
“Leave this to me!”
Ripples appeared in Giorno’s green eyes, and a humanoid Stand clad in golden armor, with a sleek and agile form, emerged behind him:
“Gold Experience!”
As soon as the humanoid Stand appeared, it unleashed a barrage of punches, fast and dense like the Pegasus Meteor Fist from an anime:
“Muda muda muda muda!!”
As it punched, it also let out a fierce battle cry.
For some reason, Lee Sin found this cry somewhat familiar.
But now wasn’t the time to ponder where he had heard the “muda muda” shout before. Lee Sin was more concerned about the mysterious boy’s incomprehensible actions—
Instead of directing his Stand to attack the flesh blob, the boy poured his rapid punches onto an empty seat.
“What are you doing?!”
Lee Sin asked, baffled:
“Are you trying to lure the blob with your punch speed?”
“But that monster’s vitality is strong. If you can’t kill it, you’ll only end up getting yourself killed!”
“Don’t worry.”
Giorno replied calmly and cautiously:
“I’m not courting death; I’m creating a decoy.”
“Creating a decoy?”
Lee Sin couldn’t connect “punching a seat” with “creating a decoy.”
“That’s right.”
In the midst of the flurry of punches from Gold Experience, the shattered seat suddenly transformed into a lively bird:
“This is the ability of my Stand, Gold Experience—”
“To create life.”
