Lee Sin's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 4
This “blindness” wasn’t a metaphor; it was literal.
When he entered the data mode, Lee Sin’s once clear and bright eyes disappeared.
In their place was a white, opaque film covering his entire eyeballs, completely obscuring his pupils.
From then on, he couldn’t see anything.
However, this wasn’t a disability but a real superpower:
Although his eyes couldn’t see, his hearing, smell, touch, and other senses were magnified several times over.
Especially his hearing:
He could hear every person in the room breathing and every seagull’s cry outside the window.
Whether it was the whispers of pedestrians on the street below or the distant crashing waves of the sea, he could hear it all clearly.
Just by using his ears, Lee Sin could accurately locate his enemies, capturing their every move.
More astonishingly, he seemed to have a mysterious “sixth sense” that allowed him to perceive space through sound, identifying the contours and exact positions of every object and living being.
“Phew…”
At this moment, Lee Sin’s enhanced hearing immediately caught Amor’s breath quickening:
“Wait…”
“He’s not bleeding, not injured?!”
Amor quickly noticed something strange about Lee Sin:
His bullets had clearly pierced the man’s knees, yet there was no blood, no wounds.
Even more, Lee Sin’s face showed no sign of pain.
This was the terrifying aspect of the data mode:
Lee Sin’s body was no longer ordinary flesh and blood in this mode.
He was like a character in a game—unable to be injured, unable to feel pain, only losing health points.
As long as his health didn’t drop to zero, he wouldn’t die or be crippled.
The idea of Amor disabling Lee Sin with bullets was simply impossible.
“Damn it!”
“Stand Users really aren’t easy to deal with.”
Amor cursed under his breath, immediately and decisively retreating two big steps.
The four men in black behind him didn’t stand idly by either.
One particularly quick-witted subordinate had already attached a silencer to his pistol and, as Amor stepped back, raised his gun to attack Lee Sin.
“Hmm?”
Lee Sin heard the man’s suddenly accelerated heartbeat and the faint sound of air displacement as he raised his gun.
His physical abilities hadn’t changed much, only his senses were heightened.
But that was enough.
Thanks to this extraordinary sensory ability, Lee Sin could predict where the gun would aim and when it would fire before the shooter even pulled the trigger.
So, he dodged nimbly, evading the bullet before it left the barrel.
Bang!
The muffled sound of a silenced shot, the bullet hit the wall.
Lee Sin dodged the bullet, but Amor’s eyes lit up with joy:
“He dodged, he dodged!”
“Good…”
“Boys, fire at will!”
Amor calmly gave the order, but one of his subordinates couldn’t help but question:
“Boss, aren’t we running?”
“This guy is still bouncing around after taking bullets; we can’t handle a monster like this!”
Only a Stand can defeat a Stand.
Facing a Stand User, the best choice for ordinary people is to turn and flee.
The young men in black were all rattled by Lee Sin’s “bullet-proof” strange ability.
But Amor wasn’t panicked at all: “Fool! Run? Why run?”
“If this bald guy were truly invincible, why would he dodge just now, and why would he try to escape now?”
“If he dodged, it means our bullets are effective.”
“And, are you blind?”
“Open your eyes and look—”
Amor pointed at Lee Sin: “Look at his head!”
“His head?”
Following their boss’s cue, the subordinates looked closely and were shocked:
“This, this…”
“Why is there a red bar floating above the bald guy’s head?”
“What?!”
Hearing this, Lee Sin’s expression changed slightly:
A red bar? There’s a red bar floating above my head?
Could it be…
He had a bad feeling—was it his health bar?!
That’s right.
Lee Sin had just awakened his abilities, so he didn’t yet know:
Just like how each hero in LOL has a health bar above their head, his health bar was now floating above his head like a 3D projection, clearly visible.
Whether ‘ally’ or ‘enemy,’ everyone could see the health bar floating above Lee Sin’s head.
His health status was as clear as day.
“If I’m not mistaken…”
Amor quickly figured out the meaning of the “red bar”:
“Even though his Stand ability lets him ‘ignore injuries,’ it doesn’t negate damage.”
“He has a limit to how much damage he can take, and the ‘red bar’ above his head shows his…”
“Health!”
Thanks to the rapid development of video games in the late 20th century, these young men, born in the ’80s, immediately understood Amor’s thought process:
“Just like in video games, where the character’s health is displayed above their head!”
“And this bald guy…”
The men glanced at the health bar above Lee Sin’s head:
“After those two shots, he’s already lost about 30% of his health!”
“Exactly!”
Amor nodded in satisfaction, barking orders:
“Don’t just stand there, fire!”
“Yes!”
The four men in black nodded, hurriedly aiming their guns at Lee Sin.
Amor and his men were now standing on one side of the room, firmly guarding the exit and using their gun barrels to block Lee Sin’s every move.
Even with his superhuman sensory abilities, it was difficult for Lee Sin to break through such a dense firepower blockade.
“Ah, really…”
“So they can all see my health bar.”
Lee Sin shook his head helplessly, still showing no signs of nervousness:
Not being able to use the “immortality” trick to scare them was a pity.
However, if he had to fight head-on, he wasn’t afraid either.
Because aside from his data body and superhuman senses, he also had system skills—skills unique to the hero “Blind Monk.”
“Skill point allocation, Sonic Wave/Resonating Strike!”
Lee Sin placed his only skill point into the iconic Q skill of the “Blind Monk.”
Sonic Wave: “Lee Sin fires a sonic blast that locates the target, dealing minor damage to the first enemy hit. If Sonic Wave hits an enemy, Lee Sin can cast Resonating Strike.”
Resonating Strike: “Lee Sin dashes to the enemy hit by Sonic Wave, dealing major damage.”
(Cooldown: 7 seconds)
(Range: 300 meters)
(The Sonic Wave mark persists until Lee Sin uses Resonating Strike or manually cancels the skill.)
(Skill damage is determined by the player’s base strength.)
Lee Sin chose this skill because it combines long-range attack and rapid dash, effectively solving his current problem of “short reach.”
“Sonic Wave!”
Sensing the enemy about to pull the trigger, Lee Sin quickly used his newly acquired ability.
Before his punch even connected, his fist began to glow with a faint white light.
In an instant, the white light condensed into a bright, dazzling sphere and shot straight forward with the momentum of Lee Sin’s punch.
Although the Sonic Wave skill description mentioned “firing a sonic blast,” in practice, just like in the game, Lee Sin’s “sonic blast” was a visible light sphere.
Moreover, a glowing white mark appeared on his chest when Sonic Wave hit the black-clad man.
This wasn’t a good sign.
Everyone could see the light sphere, and the glowing mark on the hit target was even more conspicuous.
With Amor’s sharp eyes, he could probably figure out the mechanism of “Sonic Wave” and “Resonating Strike” after just one observation.
And the bigger problem was…
Lee Sin originally intended to attack Amor directly.
But Amor was extremely cautious, not giving Lee Sin any chance to exploit:
He had already discreetly hidden behind his burly subordinates while retreating, using their large bodies as cover while observing Lee Sin’s every move with his hawk-like eyes.
Unable to directly target Amor, Lee Sin had to settle for the black-clad subordinate in front of him.
Though the Sonic Wave light sphere was obvious, it thankfully traveled quickly.
Before the black-clad man could fire, the Sonic Wave struck his chest.
“Ugh!”
The man groaned softly, feeling a slight numbness in his chest:
“What is this?”
“Scared me, but it doesn’t even hurt.”
He grumbled carelessly, not noticing the glowing mark on his chest.
Amor immediately sensed danger.
Though he didn’t know why an ordinary person could see a Stand User’s “ability,” the glowing mark alarmed him:
“Watch out!”
“That glowing mark is definitely trouble!”
Amor instinctively retreated further while warning his marked subordinate.
But it was too late.
“Resonating Strike!”
The moment the mark appeared on the man’s chest, Lee Sin activated the second part of his skill.
In an instant, he transformed into a gust of wind.
Lee Sin unleashed an astonishing speed, cutting a straight, blurred line through the air, leaving a streak that ordinary eyes couldn’t track.
He was right in front of the marked man in just a moment.
Then, in the next instant…
His punch exploded!
The black-clad man barely had time to register the bald blur in his eyes before a lightning-fast punch struck his chest.
The punch was like a cannonball, like a sledgehammer, crushing his muscular chest effortlessly.
Without even a scream, he spat blood and collapsed, half-dead.
“This…”
Amor instinctively felt fear at Lee Sin’s speed and power:
“So this is his real Stand ability… terrifying!”
“No… I can’t be afraid…”
“If I get scared, I’ve already lost.”
“Stay calm, observe carefully, there must be a way to beat him!”
He tried to steady his mind, focusing on every detail of Lee Sin’s actions.
“Hmm?”
In that split second, Amor noticed the most significant change in Lee Sin:
“His eyes have turned completely white, no pupils in sight.”
“Which means…”
“He’s blind!”
