Lee Sin's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 40
Lee Sin skimmed across the ground like a dragonfly, closely followed by the rampaging meat chunk. His “intangible” body passed through the buildings in his path, while the meat chunk aggressively smashed everything in its way into dust.
The speed of Resonating Strike was fast, and the speed of the meat chunk was naturally faster. Fortunately, Lee Sin had maintained a relatively large safety distance from the meat chunk beforehand, so he wasn’t caught by the monster during the charge.
Thus, he successfully diverted the meat chunk away from the young man and crashed into Giorno, who was speeding towards them on a motorcycle.
Safeguard was a non-lethal displacement and support skill, and the massive kinetic energy generated by the high-speed movement mysteriously vanished the moment they made contact.
A faint glow of protective light appeared simultaneously on both Lee Sin and Giorno, and with lightning reflexes, Lee Sin used Giorno’s shoulder as a leverage point, twisting his body mid-air as he stabilized.
In the end, he landed safely on the back seat of the speeding motorcycle.
But the danger had only just begun.
“Disgusting…”
Listening to the amplified, nauseating squelching sounds of the meat chunk drawing closer, Lee Sin apologized to Giorno:
“Giorno, the monster is now on you, and there’s no one else to help draw it away.”
“This is a big problem…”
“Haha… I never thought I’d end up being a burden.”
“It’s fine.”
Giorno didn’t blame Lee Sin for his foolish decision at all.
It seemed as if he had anticipated this, speaking with a calmness that belied the situation:
“Although we discussed the so-called ‘optimal choice’ beforehand, as I said before—”
“When it comes to making a decision, no one can consider everything.”
“Besides, if it were me, I would have made the same choice.”
His gaze at Lee Sin was filled with deep approval.
“So…”
“If there’s a problem, we’ll solve it!”
Giorno calmly summoned his Stand and started punching the motorcycle’s dashboard furiously:
“Muda muda muda!”
The Golden Experience’s golden fists, glowing faintly, pounded the lifeless dashboard until it bloomed—literally.
Under the infusion of Golden Experience’s life force, the dashboard sprouted green and yellow flowers, and strong, resilient vines quickly grew, covering the entire front of the bike and conveniently pushing the throttle to the maximum.
“The handlebars are secured by the vines, and the throttle is locked. With a clear road ahead, the motorcycle will keep going for a long distance, leading the meat chunk far away.”
After easily converting the motorcycle to a “driverless” version, Giorno added subtly:
“What’s left is…”
“What’s left?” Lee Sin seemed to grasp something.
“A cushion.”
Giorno smiled faintly.
Then, he had Golden Experience grab Lee Sin from the back seat and toss him under the bike like a skateboard.
With Giorno lying on the Lee Sin-shaped cushion, they leaped off the speeding motorcycle.
Sss…
Lee Sin’s body skidded across the asphalt, leaving a gray mark.
Fortunately, he was in his data-formed body, capable of instant repair. Otherwise, the “brake mark” would have been a blood-red streak with white bone fragments.
“Hey…”
Lee Sin lay helplessly on the ground, slowly lifting his head from the shallow pit he made with his face:
“You’re really not polite.”
“No choice.”
“Your body is just too useful.”
Giorno slowly stood up and cast a deep gaze at the meat chunk in the distance:
Sure enough, just as he had planned, the meat chunk was fully fixated on the “driverless” motorcycle.
Without stopping, it waved its tentacles and chased after the bike.
“Phew…”
“Good, this distance is safe enough.”
“I also hid some bugs among the vines on the bike. They can help delay it for a while when it catches up.”
“We can slowly move away now and soon be out of its sensing range.”
“And…”
Giorno glanced at the young man standing still in the distance:
He seemed to be either stunned by Lee Sin’s “wind-riding” superpower or finally noticed the strange traces left by the crawling meat chunk…
The guy finally stopped causing trouble.
He just stood there, staring blankly at them without making any extra movements.
Giorno breathed a sigh of relief:
“Good that he’s not interfering anymore.”
“Although we lost two motorcycles and had to abandon our plan, it’s fine.”
“We can just find two more vehicles and start over.”
“…….”
Lee Sin lay on the ground without speaking.
Seeing his slightly strange expression, Giorno was puzzled:
“Why are you still lying there?”
“Didn’t I say not to jinx it?”
Lee Sin muttered softly.
He didn’t get up but pressed his ear tightly to the ground, responding in a comical posture:
“Giorno, I have good news and bad news.”
“Let’s hear the bad news first.”
“There’s a slight vibration coming from the ground. Judging by the sound characteristics, it’s quite a few vehicles, and they are moving in a very organized two-column formation—it’s clearly a convoy.”
“More importantly, the sound is getting closer to our position, which is near the crash site.”
“You mean…”
Giorno’s expression grew serious: “The Americans are coming?”
“Exactly.” Lee Sin sighed helplessly: “At this speed… the American soldiers will be here in two minutes.”
This was a terrible piece of news.
The intrusion of just one meddling young man had already completely disrupted the delicate and fragile balance of offense and defense between them and the meat chunk.
Now, the bulk of the US Navy was about to arrive.
“Damn… we don’t have enough time.”
“Even finding new transportation would take at least two or three minutes in the best-case scenario.”
“And with only two minutes… even if we lead it away in time, there’s no way to get it into the sea.”
“If the Americans notice the obvious tracks left by the meat chunk, they’ll definitely follow those tracks and interfere.”
Giorno frowned tightly but quickly relaxed.
He looked expectantly at Lee Sin:
“So, what’s the good news?”
Lee Sin remained lying on the ground, listening intently to the sounds within the earth:
“I have a Plan B that can deal with it in ‘two minutes.'”
“Deal with it in two minutes?” Giorno frowned: “Two minutes isn’t enough to lead it into the sea…”
“No need for the sea.”
Lee Sin slowly stood up and pointed to the solid ground beneath him:
“Here will be its eternal grave!”
