Lee Sin's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 8
The hidden boss of the organization was named Diavolo.
In Spanish, the name means “devil” or “demon.”
His mother was a lowly prisoner, his father’s identity unknown, and he was raised by a kind and gentle priest.
Interestingly, although the priest was a devout believer in God, he chose to give his adopted son a devil’s name.
But one had to admit, the name was fitting—
Diavolo was a natural-born demon.
In his youth, he cold-heartedly killed his birth mother who gave him life, and his adoptive father who raised him, along with all the neighbors who knew him, and burned down the village where he had lived for nineteen years.
After founding the organization, countless innocents died by his hand.
Typical villains kill to satisfy their desires, usually for two common reasons: women and money.
Yet Diavolo enjoyed neither of these.
To avoid leaving traces that enemies could follow, and to maintain his throne as the underground king, he lived a life of utmost secrecy.
He needed women, but feared leaving any evidence of his existence, so he meticulously planned every encounter, ensuring no leaks or offspring, making his trysts more taxing than work.
Diavolo, of course, possessed vast wealth.
But he spent his time hiding, traveling only by the most ordinary public transport, staying in the cheapest inns.
He never married, bought property, or had children. He had no love for money; it was meaningless to him.
So…
Why did this man commit his evil deeds?
He did it purely for the sake of evil.
Just as humans eat food and dogs eat excrement, Diavolo, a born dark destroyer, committed atrocities as naturally as a base instinct.
To keep his throne in the organization, he drove its constant expansion, bringing more pain and chaos to the world.
Those who tried to dethrone him, thwart his plans, or stop his crimes would become sacrifices beneath his throne:
Just like today—
A bald Stand user, unaware of the heights of the heavens and the depths of the earth, had unknowingly appeared in the room where Diavolo had recently left traces.
Undoubtedly, this was an act of overstepping that demanded the harshest punishment.
And although this bald man had a seemingly powerful Stand ability, he was far from posing a real threat to Diavolo.
Because Diavolo knew his Stand was invincible:
“King Crimson!”
………………………………………………………….
A fist, faster than a speeding bullet, suddenly exploded from behind Lee Sin.
Lee Sin sensed the punch.
But he couldn’t dodge.
The punch was so fast that it was enough to make Lee Sin despair.
The punch smashed through his spine, pierced his heart, and emerged from his chest.
Lee Sin hung on the fist like a watermelon pierced by a steel fork in the moonlit field, unable to move.
Blood sprayed like a fountain, bones and flesh ground into pulp under the force of the punch.
Perhaps because the punch was too fast, Lee Sin couldn’t even feel the pain,
only finding it hard to breathe.
“Ugh…”
He widened his eyes, holding onto the last bit of clarity in his mind.
Then, in this critical moment, Lee Sin used his “Stand ability”:
“The Blind Monk!”
Data mode activated instantly, solidifying the spurting blood, rapidly restoring his broken body.
Lee Sin managed to survive.
Even so, his health, restored to 100% upon leveling up, plummeted to 53% from that single punch.
Another couple of hits, and he would be dead on the spot.
It’s worth noting that Lee Sin’s health and defense had greatly increased upon leveling up.
This meant…
According to the system’s damage calculations, this punch dealt several times more damage than a point-blank bullet.
“Is this even human?”
Lee Sin wondered, but quickly realized the answer:
Clearly not.
His sharp senses told him the entity that had punched through his chest was not human, lacking a heartbeat or breath.
Curiously, he could sense an immensely powerful spiritual force from it.
The man with a heartbeat and breath, whom he had sensed earlier, was standing two meters behind it.
“The one attacking me isn’t human… it’s a Stand, the Stand of the man two meters behind!”
“This is a Stand attack!”
Having watched two episodes of JOJO, Lee Sin quickly found an explanation for the bizarre situation.
And he wasn’t wrong.
If Lee Sin still had his vision, he would see this:
Two meters away, a young-looking, fierce-eyed, evil-tempered man with striking pink hair, standing with one hand on his waist, legs slightly bent, body leaning forward in a strange yet stylish pose.
This was Diavolo, assuming his “boss” identity.
Standing two meters ahead of him, right behind Lee Sin, was a tall, muscular humanoid Stand—
King Crimson!
A “Stand” is a ghost-like manifestation of pure spiritual energy.
The appearance of a Stand reflects its owner’s true inner world.
King Crimson’s appearance perfectly embodied Diavolo’s evil and terror:
Standing nearly two meters tall, with a terrifying, grim expression, a mask-like face on its forehead, and red and white patterns covering its body, exuding an aura of evil.
It resembled a muscular humanoid beast and a cold-blooded killing machine.
Just standing next to it, Lee Sin instinctively felt an indescribable pressure.
“So strong…”
With the thick arm still embedded in his body, Lee Sin realized the gravity of the situation.
He hurriedly tried to move away, attempting to escape the fist piercing his chest.
But King Crimson didn’t hinder Lee Sin’s actions.
Its master, Diavolo, stood motionless nearby, watching Lee Sin’s weak struggles with the cold eyes of someone observing a dying animal:
“You’re still alive?”
“It seems your Stand ability is stronger than I thought.”
Thanks to Amor’s efforts, Diavolo had prior knowledge of many crucial details about Lee Sin’s Stand ability.
He knew that when Lee Sin used his Stand, a “health bar” appeared above his head. By watching for that strange red bar, he could determine whether Lee Sin was using his Stand.
So, Diavolo had been waiting for the perfect moment to strike, aiming to kill Lee Sin when he wasn’t using his Stand.
The plan succeeded, but Lee Sin narrowly survived.
“A mistake.”
“I should have aimed for the head.”
Diavolo spoke words of reflection, though his tone lacked any seriousness.
He observed Lee Sin, whose chest, pierced by a punch, showed no more bleeding:
“Taking a punch from my King Crimson, shattering your heart, yet you’re still moving freely.”
“And after pulling away from King Crimson’s fist, your gaping chest wound instantly healed.”
“Amor’s report was accurate. You can ‘take damage’ but not ‘get hurt.'”
“Impressive, your Stand ability is strong.”
“Against mortals like Amor, it’s more than enough.”
“Too bad.”
His voice suddenly carried a condescending arrogance:
“Standing before you now…”
“Is me, Diavolo!”
