Lee Sin's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 9
“Diavolo…”
Lee Sin whispered this strangely familiar name and couldn’t help but recall the eerie scene of ‘time leap’ he had just experienced:
“Could it be… you are the ‘Boss’ mentioned by Amor before he died?”
“You never really left the vicinity of this inn after killing someone!”
“Correct.”
Diavolo replied calmly:
“I never leave any traces behind, so I had to make sure that foolish woman could ‘thoroughly’ disappear from this world.”
“But I didn’t expect you could silently appear here without me noticing.”
“Heh… that’s quite something!”
Though he praised Lee Sin with his words, his eyes were filled with the disdain one has for a dead man walking.
Diavolo now made a smart man’s fatal mistake: underestimating his opponent.
Or rather, he didn’t even consider Lee Sin a worthy opponent.
In Diavolo’s eyes, Lee Sin was nothing more than a fly that had accidentally intruded into his domain—annoying but easily swatted away.
This wasn’t arrogance but rather a confidence stemming from his absolute power over Lee Sin:
Setting aside his invincible Stand ability, the sheer strength and speed of his “King Crimson” were enough to crush Lee Sin.
According to the power system of the JOJO world, King Crimson’s attributes were:
Strength and Speed: Double A.
Its strength was enough to easily penetrate steel plates, and its speed was so fast that it was almost imperceptible to the human eye.
Meanwhile, Lee Sin’s current physical limits were merely at the peak of human capability. According to the JOJO power system, he was at best a “Double C” in strength and speed.
Moreover, the health bar floating above Lee Sin’s head revealed his frailty. His previously displayed ‘Stand ability’ seemed to be straightforward close-combat physical attacks…
This meant that King Crimson could effortlessly defeat Lee Sin even with basic attacks.
The absolute difference in power alone gave Diavolo a 100% chance of victory.
So, he now looked at Lee Sin with a calm expression:
“Speak!”
Realizing that he had complete control over his opponent, Diavolo wasn’t in a rush to kill Lee Sin:
“Why are you here?”
“Do you have a personal grudge against me, or is someone behind this?”
The organization ran a large-scale operation.
They imported ‘Golden Crescent’ specialties from West Asia, transported them via land and sea routes to Italy in the Mediterranean, and finally sold these West Asian specialties throughout Europe through their Italian channels.
This was a huge business, earning several billion liras annually.
Due to this immense profit, Diavolo, as the organization’s leader, faced extremely dangerous challenges every day:
There were ambitious officials trying to overthrow him, rival gangs wanting to take over, and elite agents from law enforcement agencies around the world.
Lee Sin couldn’t have come to investigate him without a reason. Killing Lee Sin would only solve the immediate problem. Diavolo’s main goal was to root out the cause and eliminate future threats.
Thus, for once, he tried to curb his murderous intent.
“Speak quickly!”
“Tell me your true purpose here, and maybe I’ll let you leave alive.”
Diavolo commanded in an unquestionable tone, looking down on Lee Sin.
“Heh.”
Lee Sin remained unmoved: “Don’t joke around!”
“You didn’t show up to save Amor and his men when I killed them. That’s because you know that anyone who sees your true form must die—including your subordinates.”
“So,
why would you let me live?” Hearing this, Diavolo’s fake smile disappeared instantly:
“You’re not foolish.”
“So, is this your final answer?”
“I…”
Lee Sin pressed his lips together tightly, thinking hard:
The monster-level speed and strength were beyond his ability to counter.
Not to mention, Diavolo possessed an invincible Stand ability to ‘erase time.’
The so-called time erasure allowed him to “skip” and “delete” about ten seconds of time.
During this period, Diavolo could foresee others’ future actions and was the only one who could move freely.
He couldn’t be attacked or attack during this time, but he could move around and manipulate objects.
After the time erasure, all living beings would not experience the time flow and would have no memory of it.
To put it simply:
It’s like playing LoL together, and whenever Diavolo activates his ability, other players collectively experience high-ping lag.
During this time, others can only move unconsciously in the lag, while Diavolo can freely control his character.
More terrifyingly, during the ‘time erasure,’ Diavolo and his Stand were completely independent of the timeline—meaning nothing could harm him during this period.
It’s like a vampire using W skill, becoming “untargetable” and immune to all attacks.
“Invincible…”
“This is truly an invincible Stand ability…”
After his firsthand experience, Lee Sin had a clear understanding of Diavolo’s power:
“His Stand’s strength and speed are far above mine; he can crush me easily without even using his Stand ability.”
“Even if I manage to attack his main body, I can’t break through his invincible skill.”
“How do I fight this?”
The more Lee Sin thought about it, the more he felt like a toad on the flower terrace, struggling to eat two bugs, only to be whipped by a sudden bear child.
Not only unfortunate but also hopeless, too desperate to fight back.
At this point, he could only…
“Don’t kill me!”
Lee Sin lowered his fists, shouting “sincerely”:
“You may not believe it, but I’m really just an ordinary passerby!”
“I’m here purely by accident.”
“Can you… no… will you spare my life?”
“Hmm?”
Diavolo frowned tightly:
Begging for mercy? Has he lost his mind, thinking it would work?
No, Diavolo didn’t believe it.
He knew Lee Sin was stalling for time, planning a desperate counterattack.
As for his plan?
Heh…
Diavolo couldn’t be bothered to guess; he preferred to “see” directly:
“King Crimson—Epitaph!”
Lee Sin only knew Diavolo’s invincible time-erasure ability but wasn’t aware of his other bug-like Stand ability—foreseeing the future.
Foreseeing the future needs no explanation:
Diavolo could activate King Crimson’s second ability—Epitaph—to foresee about ten seconds into the future, grasping the enemy’s future actions in advance.
At this moment, he activated the mysterious foresight ability.
In the next ten seconds, the future events were revealed to Diavolo:
Initially, Lee Sin pretended to be desperate, begging for mercy.
After a series of meaningless pleas, around the eighth second, Lee Sin suddenly attacked, throwing a ‘marking light orb’ at him.
Sadly, Lee Sin’s speed was too slow.
There was no need for King Crimson to act; Diavolo himself could easily dodge the ‘marking light orb’ by slightly tilting his head.
In the ninth second, King Crimson retaliated, chopping off half of Lee Sin’s shoulder with a hand chop.
Lee Sin’s dataized body instantly healed under such a terrifying attack, but the red health bar above his head plummeted instantly.
However, around the tenth second…
Bang!
A ghastly hole suddenly appeared on Diavolo’s head.
“Oh?”
Diavolo’s pupils contracted:
“His plan isn’t to escape but to fight me to the death.”
“Heh, what a bold and reckless guy…”
“Unfortunately…”
He sneered:
“I’ve already foreseen the ‘future’!”
