Marvel Anime Extraction - Chapter 111
Fanny’s arrival instantly woke Mordo up. As an elite mage, he kept his vigilance up even while in the holy land.
“Who is there?”
Mordo jumped out of his bed, summoning Rings of Raggadorr with both hands. He exclaimed in surprise when he saw the figure in front of him, “Fanny?!”
“Cough, it’s a me!”
Fanny was very embarrassed when Mordo jumped on him. He had no idea how to even begin explaining the situation. He finally smiled kindly and lied through his teeth, “If I said I wanted to secretly gift you a fried chicken roll, would you believe me?”
Already awake and sober, Mordo would never believe such nonsense. The senior mage asked with a dark face, “What are you doing in my room this late?”
“Why don’t you guess?”
Fanny tried to disperse the tension by acting cute.
Mordo frowned. He dispelled the Rings of Raggadorr after confirming that it really was Fanny. “No, really, what is it?”
“Sorry, my bad, sorry for waking you up; see you later!”
Fanny quickly turned away and used Sky Dance to escape at full speed, leaving Mordo stunned in the room.
Fanny had nothing to do after escaping Mordo’s room. It was still the middle of the night in Kamar-Taj, and dawn was quite some time away.
In the end, Fanny helplessly opened a portal to the Himalayas and practiced his ability on his own. Sparring with Mordo would be a little bit short of filling the experience bar, so he would have to make up for it with self-study.
Fanny diligently practiced every skill from ‘Ars Magna’ to ‘Explosion Magic’ under the night sky to quickly pass the time
, only returning to Kamar-Taj after watching the beautiful sunrise on the Himalayas.
“Good morning!”
Fanny greeted Mordo as if nothing had happened.
He thought that if he acted well enough, he could completely dismiss what happened last night.
Unfortunately, Mordo refused to play along. He asked angrily, “Fanny, what were you trying to do earlier? You could get mistaken as an enemy.”
“Accident, it was an accident; it really is an accident.”
Fanny knew full well that he had truly made a mistake this time. He approached Mordo with an apologetic face, summoning ‘Sumire Karaage Rolls’ along the way. He offered it to Mordo reverently, “It would definitely not happen again.”
Any and all problems with Mordo and Wong could be solved with one ‘Sumire Karaage Rolls.’ If one wasn’t enough, just give them another one!
Fanny sighed in relief when he saw Mordo’s face lightening after receiving the ‘Sumire Karaage Rolls.’ He had made a massive blunder due to the excitement of extracting the sixth skill.
Fanny didn’t spare any time inviting Mordo to a fight after the senior mage finished breakfast, “Let’s go! Exercise right after eating!”
Mordo’s expression changed again. He wondered if he had accidentally offended Fanny. Who would fight right after they finished eating? Weren’t they worried that they would get a stomachache? Having magic power doesn’t mean mages could recklessly destroy their bodies like this.
“Fanny, have I done something to offend you? Just tell me,”
Mordo asked while frowning. The jumpscare last night and the eagerness to fight this morning made Mordo suspicious of Fanny.
“Huh?!”
Fanny tilted his head in confusion at the vigilant Mordo.
“No, I just felt that my strength is at the cusp of a breakthrough. I wanted to push through that little bit by fighting someone; I guess I was too excited.”
Fanny carefully danced around the experience point system.
Mordo’s eyes stayed skeptical. Fanny had always been a battle maniac since the first day he stepped in Kamar-Taj. He hardly missed a day to challenge everyone he could find.
Mordo might not believe what he heard if it was from others, but coming from Fanny, it sounded believable.
“Did I do something that made you unhappy and wanted to take revenge on me?”
Mordo confirmed again.
“…”
Fanny suddenly felt that he was too harsh on Mordo. How could he have such thoughts? Fanny sighed and patted Mordo on the shoulder. “Senior Brother Mordo, I didn’t expect that I was such a narrow-minded person in your heart.”
“Would I dare take revenge on you for simple inconveniences?”
Mordo almost blurted out that yes, Fanny was exactly such a person, but his desire for the continued supply of fried chicken stopped him. He instead tilted his head and said, “Let me digest the food first. Thirty minutes!”
Fanny didn’t urge his senior; he wanted to regain his dignity in Mordo’s eyes. Mordo’s break ultimately only lasted ten minutes before they began to prepare for the battle.
“Are you sure you don’t want to rest for a little longer?”
Fanny asked with a smile, but the innocent handsome face only incited disdain in Mordo’s heart.
“Sigh, it’s almost time. Come on.”
Mordo was determined to use his true abilities this time; he wanted Fanny to learn what being a senior mage means.
Unfortunately, Fanny was no longer the same rookie that he was when he first arrived at Kamar-Taj. Mordo would need more than just determination to teach him such lesson.
Demon Armor Incursio’ had evolved ‘Physical Resistance’ not long after fighting Hulk. Now that the existence of such ‘Resistance’ was known, and after the years of training in Kamar-Taj, it shouldn’t be too hard for ‘Demon Armor Incursio’ to evolve ‘Magical Resistance.’
Even without such evolution, the defensive power of ‘Demon Armor Incursio’ had actually been improving. Mordo wouldn’t be able to break through its defense even if he unleashed the full extent of his spells.
“Fanny, you’re a mage! Take off your armor and fight me head-on!” Mordo was rather furious. He didn’t anticipate how much Fanny had grown.
“No; this armor is my spell. I also fought you with my spell. Those two facts made me a mage,”
Fanny replied calmly.
Mordo was speechless. Among the mages of Kamar-Taj, Fanny’s Demon Armor Incursio, Explosion Magic, and Sky Dance were all mysterious existences. Hell, they couldn’t even unravel the fried chicken summoning ability.
They might gloss over the armor as a gift from Ancient One, but Fanny’s increasingly inexplicable abilities made them certain that Fanny himself was special.
Fanny happily watched as the last bit of empty space in the experience bar was filled. He then turned to Mordo, whose self-confidence had suffered a great hit. He comforted his senior, “You know, I wouldn’t mind if you also wear your own set of armor.”
Mordo felt his heart stir a little at Fanny’s words, but he immediately steeled his resolve and hardened his feelings. He rebuked his junior mage, “No, I will not follow your heretical ways!”
Tsk!
Fanny clicked his mouth. He mostly agreed that wearing armor was heretical for a mage, but with Demon Armor Incursio’s continued growth, it became harder and harder for him to break from the sweet temptation.
Mordo’s role had finished with the full experience bar. Fanny was anxious to finally extract the skill, so he hurriedly bid farewell to Mordo and left Kamar-Taj.
Mordo inexplicably recalled Fanny’s words as the junior mage left through a portal.
Could wearing armor really be the key to becoming stronger?!
Fanny had no way of knowing what Mordo was thinking; his mind was preoccupied with the sixth extraction. He rested for a bit after returning home before taking a bath and calming his heart and mind. He then activated the boost from ‘Ars Magna’ and started the sixth extraction.
