Marvel Infinity Talent - Chapter 207
Boom!
The lightning that Wang Yan had unleashed, thought to have dissipated within the Thunder Domain, suddenly surged forward. Slergurth was caught off guard and saw her arm explode under the immense power. She quickly retreated to avoid the shockwave from the blast.
Even after evading the explosion, Slergurth looked at her arm in disbelief. Despite years of modifications that had rendered her body as strong as alloy, Wang Yan’s seemingly simple magical attack had effortlessly destroyed her arm.
Slergurth’s eyes widened with shock. Some advanced technological weapons couldn’t even damage her body, yet Wang Yan’s magic had effortlessly shattered her limb.
She took a deep breath. Her arm began to regenerate rapidly, the flesh wriggling and reforming. Wang Yan observed this with astonishment. Such a bizarre regenerative ability was unlike anything he had seen before. Not even Wolverine’s healing factor or Deadpool’s regeneration was this fast.
As her body radiated an array of lights and energies that fused, Slergurth declared, “In this place, I am invincible!”
“Is that so?” Wang Yan murmured, raising his hands. Lightning arced between his fingers. He slammed his hands onto the ground, sending powerful energy toward Slergurth.
This time, she didn’t evade but faced the force head-on. Lightning exploded around her. Without the Thunder Domain to weaken the attack, it seemed it could destroy her entirely this time.
Boom!
The destructive force engulfed Slergurth. When the explosion’s aftermath cleared, she stood before Wang Yan once again.
“Your power is formidable, but the same attack won’t work on me twice,” she said, her voice emerging from the explosion. “You cannot comprehend the true power of evolution.”
Slergurth reappeared in front of Wang Yan. Her resilience took him aback. As a Skrull deity, she was more terrifyingly powerful than he had imagined.
Beside them, Klebren spoke, “This place is filled with evolutionary energy. You, a mere human, cannot harness it. We can grow infinitely stronger. Any power that harms us only serves to strengthen us.”
Wang Yan shook his head. “You misunderstand evolution. It can indeed eliminate weaknesses, but you can never grow infinitely.”
He conjured two lightning spheres in his hands and hurled them at Slergurth. She didn’t dodge, standing her ground.
“I will show you despair,” she taunted. “Your attacks will make me stronger.”
As the lightning balls struck, they merged, releasing a devastating force. The ground shook, and the entire Skrull homeworld quaked. Slergurth vanished, her remains scattered.
Yet, Wang Yan’s expression remained serious. Despite her apparent destruction, he knew better.
“You have noticed,” Klebren said calmly. “You can’t kill her. She embodies the terror of evolution.”
Buzz!
The charred fragments of Slergurth’s body began to stir and glow. They reformed into a new Slergurth, even stronger than before, brimming with life.
This Skrull deity seemed indestructible, capable of resurrecting and becoming immune to previous attacks.
“Even after such an injury, I survive,” Slergurth taunted. “My life force is infinite. I cannot die. Your attacks only feed my strength.”
“Despair yet?” she sneered, creating two lightning balls identical to Wang Yan’s.
Wang Yan realized these held the same chaotic lightning energy as his own, signifying that Slergurth could learn from and replicate his attacks. Such a formidable ability indeed induced despair.
Watching Slergurth wield his Chaos Lightning, Wang Yan acknowledged the efficacy of her mimicry.
However, he knew her power stemmed from Klebren’s Cosmic Cube, providing her with the evolutionary energy.
Wang Yan raised his hand, shattering the lightning balls into fragments absorbed by his mirror dimension.
“Your abilities are indeed impressive,” Wang Yan admitted. “But relying on external power to fight me? That’s arrogance.”
Slergurth laughed. “A powerful ability to defeat you is still effective, isn’t it? Or are you already feeling hopeless?”
Despite seeing her lightning neutralized, Slergurth believed she had instilled despair in Wang Yan. She envisioned absorbing his magical power, growing more robust, and dominating the universe.
“You can test your strength now,” Wang Yan suggested.
“You wish to see our evolved power?” Slergurth roared, summoning the evolutionary energy.
But the energy didn’t come. One minute passed, then two. Her expression turned to shock.
“You can’t sense your power?” Wang Yan asked calmly.
Due to the mirror dimension, Slergurth and Klebren were now in separate spaces, cut off from evolutionary energy.
“Damn Earthling, what have you done?” Slergurth roared. Her body was now wracked by the chaotic magic and thunder energies clashing inside her, causing immense pain.
“You feel powerless now, don’t you?” Wang Yan said. “Your strength wasn’t truly yours. Separated from that power, you are weak.”
“Can you withstand my magic now?” Wang Yan asked as lightning sparked in his hands. Slergurth’s inner conflict tore her apart without the external power to support her.
“You can’t kill me!” she screamed, but her words sounded less confident.
