Marvel Infinity Talent - Chapter 218
Even though Oblivion was lowering his stance, Wang Yan remained cautious.
After all, it wouldn’t be surprising for such a terrifying existence if he turned around and suppressed or destroyed him once he had the upper hand.
“If your injuries heal, you could easily destroy this universe, couldn’t you?”
Wang Yan couldn’t help but be suspicious. Such terrifying beings usually had a narrow mindset.
Moreover, the injuries were inflicted by him. If those injuries that limited his power healed, Oblivion could quickly destroy a universe, and there’d be nothing Wang Yan could do.
Wang Yan might be able to unleash some powerful attacks, but he wasn’t as strong as a god.
After all, such powerful gods could even reset timelines with ease.
If Oblivion decided to destroy this universe, he wouldn’t be able to stop him.
Hearing Wang Yan’s words, Oblivion couldn’t help but smile bitterly.
“You’re overthinking it. I wouldn’t do that!”
“Besides, destroying a universe isn’t that easy. While it’s easy for us, we can’t just do it!”
Oblivion shook his head as he spoke.
They might be powerful, but they could have been more powerful. There were even stronger beings.
Wang Yan didn’t believe Oblivion feared anyone.
However, seeing Oblivion’s demeanor, it seemed he wouldn’t destroy the universe lightly.
After all, even though they could quickly destroy a universe, they had never done so.
Some more powerful beings must restrain them.
“How can I trust you?”
Wang Yan asked warily, even though he was starting to believe him a little.
“I swear, I will never come to this universe again!”
Oblivion said without hesitation. He didn’t mind making a vow in front of Wang Yan since it was easier than losing his power to counteract the force on him.
Instead, He would vow to avoid being targeted by some powerful beings.
Besides, he didn’t want to come to this universe again.
This mortal was too strong and would become even more vital. He’d rather be in another universe than come back here.
He initially came to this universe to see this boy. Now that he had discovered his strength, he wouldn’t have come if he had known earlier.
“Rest assured, once you lift your magic from me, I’ll leave immediately and never return to this universe!”
Oblivion said earnestly, “I won’t do anything to this universe either!”
Wang Yan nodded. He didn’t want to be enemies with such a powerful being. If Oblivion hadn’t persisted, he would have already returned to Earth.
Moreover, Oblivion was one of the Five Gods. If pushed too far, who knew what he might do?
A slight disruption of the timeline could change everything. By then, he might return to Earth and find no one knew him.
“I hope, as one of the Five Gods, you won’t lie to a mere mortal like me!”
Wang Yan said slowly, looking at Oblivion.
Hearing Wang Yan’s words, Oblivion felt complicated. Could Wang Yan still be considered a mere mortal?
Wang Yan naturally didn’t know Oblivion’s feelings. He raised his hand, summoning a powerful force.
Boom!
The black-gold lightning on Oblivion’s body halted.
Even Wang Yan found it challenging to control these lightning bolts, mainly because they had absorbed more of Oblivion’s power, causing energy surges.
However, he could still manage to block it since it was based on his power.
As he withdrew the power source, the black-gold lightning lost its strength and disintegrated.
Boom!
With a roar, the black-gold lightning vanished.
With the disappearance of the black-gold lightning, the force suppressing Oblivion’s aura also vanished, and his power began to recover.
Once again, his body seemed to gather countless stars.
Wang Yan watched Oblivion cautiously, unsure if he would go back on his word.
Though he couldn’t stop Oblivion, he could entangle him with the black-gold lightning again if he did.
“Kid, you’re impressive!”
“And you’re very strong. I hope to see you in the multiverse!”
As he spoke, a black spot appeared behind Oblivion. He was sucked into it and vanished from Wang Yan’s sight as if nothing had happened.
Seeing Oblivion disappear as promised, Wang Yan sighed in relief.
Fighting such a powerful being was dangerous but beneficial, as he had absorbed Oblivion’s power.
His strength increased significantly.
Shaking his head, Wang Yan drew a portal and stepped through.
After Wang Yan left, everything seemed peaceful.
In the timeless and spaceless void of the universe, a ripple occurred, and a figure appeared.
He wore a robe, but his head was strangely disproportionate, almost deformed.
However, those who knew powerful beings would recognize him as the Watcher.
As someone who observed everything in the universe, few things escaped his notice.
The ripple here might be invisible to many powerful races but not the Watcher.
“What powerful energy fluctuations. What happened here?”
“Let me see what occurred!”
“Did some powerful being force their way into this universe?”
The Watcher muttered. Usually, his group would immediately pay attention to such battles.
The Watchers possessed advanced technology and sometimes empowered weaker races. But after witnessing a race’s accelerated extinction due to their technology, they stopped interfering in multiverse affairs.
Now, they only observed everything in the multiverse. He was responsible for observing this universe.
Nothing could escape his gaze. Yet, something had happened right under his nose, and he didn’t notice.
Raising his hand, the Watcher produced a projection-like device. The device’s projection began to change.
This device had the advantage of not being noticed when observing events.
Though the Watchers were mighty, they had limits.
There were many stronger beings. The Celestials were on par with them.
This secretive event indicated some beings wanted to be kept secret.
As light flowed on his device, an image appeared.
The Watcher glanced at it, his expression changing.
Others might not recognize Oblivion, but as a Watcher, he did.
“This… this… is… Oblivion…”
Seeing Oblivion, he was shocked, not daring to say the name. Such powerful beings sometimes sensed their names being mentioned.
So he couldn’t say it out loud.
He was curious why Oblivion was in this universe.
Moreover, it seemed there had been destruction here. Without his advanced technology, he might not have seen this image.
What he saw next shocked him further.
He saw Oblivion being beaten and even on the losing end.
Oblivion even humbly begged his opponent.
This scene left him speechless.
Not just him; anyone who knew Oblivion wouldn’t believe it.
If Oblivion knew he was watching, he would be dead for sure.
The Watcher quickly turned off the projection, produced a lamp-like device, and then disappeared.
As he left, the floating lamp exploded, erasing all traces of his presence.
The Watcher reappeared in a different starfield.
Though he left, he remained curious. Who was strong enough to defeat Oblivion?
“That person seemed to be from Earth. I need to check Earth and see who he is!”
The Watcher was interested in the one who embarrassed Oblivion.
He didn’t think he could find such a powerful being.
Such a being was beyond their observation. Attempting to observe could get him noticed, causing trouble.
But curiosity was like an itch he couldn’t ignore.
As an observer of the universe, seeing something so extraordinary, he couldn’t help but be curious.
The Watcher didn’t know that as he left, Oblivion returned, destroying everything to prevent anyone from seeing.
If Oblivion knew a Watcher saw his predicament, he would hunt him down.
Oblivion naturally didn’t know and returned to his universe.
