Marvel Infinity Talent - Chapter 244
“You must be using the power of the lightning from the Bosat,” Chthon declared. “To me, that is merely the power of a junior. Even though you have merged the power of Annihilation, you cannot defeat me in my full form!”
Chthon erupted with a terrifying force of darkness that seemed to overwhelm the universe itself, leaving only Wang Yan and the Earth behind him untouched. Despite witnessing this display of power, Wang Yan remained calm, knowing that Chthon’s strength was formidable but not impossible.
Wang Yan gathered his powerful magic once more, forming a massive fist identical to his previous attack. Chthon sneered, “You think the same move will work on me twice?”
But just as before, the enormous golden fist collided with Chthon, who raised his hand to counter it. The impact released a formidable force, causing the golden fist to disintegrate into a burst of light. “Exactly as I thought!” Chthon scoffed.
Suddenly, countless bolts of lightning spread out, encasing Chthon. Though he quickly conjured powerful dark magic to fend off the attack, he found that his protective barrier shattered upon contact with the lightning, leaving him trembling and releasing black smoke.
The S.W.O.R.D. agents observing the battle felt a mix of emotions. They realized that Wang Yan’s abilities were beyond their comprehension. Even a repeated attack could harm a god-like Chthon.
“Enough!” Chthon roared, expelling the residual Annihilation energy from his body. Despite his immense power, Chthon knew that his colossal form had weaknesses, making it difficult to control his strength precisely.
“How dare a mere sorcerer attack me like this! You will experience the most terrifying dark magic!” Chthon’s gaze was filled with malice and fury. His eyes glowed a deep red as if they were about to bleed.
“Chthon, you should save your words until after you win. In this world, talking is the least effective thing,” Wang Yan retorted, vanishing and reappearing at Chthon’s midsection. He conjured a massive magical chainsaw and swung it at Chthon’s waist.
The chainsaw effortlessly tore through Chthon’s body, which was supposed to be impervious due to his immense power. The saw, imbued with the force of Annihilation, caused the god to howl in pain. Wang Yan had discovered that, despite Chthon’s formidable strength, he was vulnerable to Annihilation’s power.
Chthon’s scream echoed as his aura began to fade. A strange chant emanated from his mouth, filled with anger. “Dark Embers!”
Layer upon layer of dark energy emanated from Chthon, forming massive hands that trapped Wang Yan. Within this darkness, everything seemed to distort, including time. Wang Yan felt his very life force draining away.
Chthon’s ploy had worked, using himself as bait to lure Wang Yan into this trap. The atmosphere hummed, engulfing Wang Yan. He felt an unprecedented sense of disorientation and helplessness as if he might die here.
“How does it feel now?” Chthon’s voice, like a judge pronouncing a sentence, echoed in the darkness. “This is my domain of dark laws, where your soul will be eternally imprisoned in darkness!”
Wang Yan closed his eyes, transitioning from panic to composure. While it seemed like an eternity in this dark world, only moments had passed. Chthon, confident in his ultimate victory, believed no one could withstand this power.
“Enjoy this, mighty sorcerer. You will be my eternal prisoner!” Chthon merged the dark world into a black sphere, smiling as he believed he had finally captured Wang Yan. This small black sphere, containing what he thought was Wang Yan’s essence, was meant to suffer endless torment.
Chthon then turned his attention to Earth, ready to reclaim what he believed was rightfully his. As he raised his hand to destroy the protective magic surrounding Earth, the S.W.O.R.D. agents watched in horror.
“What should we do, sir?” one agent asked, panic evident. Fury, his fists clenched, was also at a loss.
“Master Wang Yan!” Fury muttered, feeling helpless. But then he noticed a figure within the Earth’s protective barrier. “Master Wang Yan!” he exclaimed, rubbing his eyes to ensure he wasn’t seeing things. The other agents also noticed and were overjoyed.
Chthon, initially taken aback, became furious upon recognizing the figure. “You!”
“You seem surprised to see me,” Wang Yan said, smirking.
“How is this possible?” Chthon pulled out the black sphere, only to find it containing another Wang Yan, who began to fade away. “When did you switch to a clone?”
Chthon was incredulous, unable to believe a mere clone had deceived him. “Lions use their full strength even to hunt rabbits. Do you think I would face a god without any preparation?” Wang Yan explained calmly.
From the beginning, Wang Yan had created multiple clones. Even his clones could absorb Chthon’s power, showing no difference from his true self. This revelation left Chthon feeling defeated and enraged.
“System, detect Dark Origin Magic talent. Do you want to merge?”
“Merge!” Wang Yan commanded.
As he merged with the dark magical essence, Wang Yan’s power grew even more vital, further solidifying his resolve to defeat Chthon.
