Magneto hovered in the air, surrounded by a powerful magnetic field. Under his control, the Earth’s magnetic field began to change.
People in major cities worldwide noticed something was wrong.
The ground trembled, rivers surged, and many metal objects floated uncontrollably, forming magnetic field lines in the air.
At this point, people realized that Hero League International’s warnings about Apocalypse’s doomsday plans weren’t exaggerated but actually happening.
“We are witnessing a geomagnetic phenomenon. The Earth’s surface is filled with geomagnetic elements, as is the ocean surface. If this continues, the continents will be affected, and our nations, cities, and everything built since the Bronze Age will be completely destroyed!”
Scientists interviewed on television unanimously gave a grim prognosis, leaving humanity in despair.
Panic spread, causing riots that governments had to suppress with large police forces.
“What’s going on? First, all the nukes were launched, and now there’s a geomagnetic problem. Is it really that Apocalypse causing this? And what’s Nick Fury doing? How can he not have reacted yet?”
The President raged in his office, and the Secretary of Defense hurriedly explained:
“I’ve contacted Nick Fury. The situation is indeed caused by a being called Apocalypse. Fury is currently handling Hydra’s terrorist attacks worldwide, hence the delay.
But he assured me that the superheroes from Hero League International and the mutants are already heading to Cairo to deal with Apocalypse. Captain Marvel will join them shortly.
This crisis will definitely be resolved!”
“Spread this news to calm people down, then contact the Egyptian president and see if we can send fighter jets to help.”
The President commanded after some thought.
The Secretary of Defense shook his head:
“I’ve already contacted them, but our help is unlikely to be effective.
Egypt has already begun action, but all planes, tanks, missiles, and even handguns cannot enter Cairo.”
“So, humanity’s fate rests solely on those superheroes and mutants?”
The President sighed.
The Secretary of Defense nodded.
“Yes, it’s up to them.”
Meanwhile, similar conversations and conclusions were happening in the offices of other world leaders.
Now, the entire world’s population has focused its attention on Cairo, placing its hopes on the superheroes from Hero League International to defeat the Apocalypse and save humanity.
The reporters’ phones were ringing non-stop on the X-Jet heading to Cairo.
They initially thought the situation might be exaggerated, but now it was clear that if they couldn’t stop the Apocalypse, human civilization would collapse within a day.
Their bosses demanded they live-stream every moment of the battle to save humanity.
They had the fortune of covering the biggest news event in the world.
“We’re here!”
After four or five hours of flight, they finally arrived in Cairo and spotted the massive pyramid standing in the city’s center.
“It seems they have arrived. Let them come in.”
Hovering and controlling the magnetic fields, Magneto sensed the X-Jet’s arrival and deliberately opened a magnetic gap, allowing the jet to enter.
He wanted to use Hawking and Captain Marvel to eliminate Apocalypse, so he wouldn’t block them as the human military did.
The X-Jet landed slowly before the pyramid, and Hawking led everyone out.
In front of them stood Mystique with the enhanced Brotherhood mutants.
“Follow the plan!”
Signaling to Storm and the others, Hawking immediately flew towards the pyramid with Nightcrawler, not waiting for Mystique to speak.
They had already formulated a battle plan on the X-Jet.
Once they arrived, the others held off the Brotherhood mutants outside while Hawking, the strongest, took Nightcrawler to the pyramid to rescue Professor X.
Then, they would collectively defeat Apocalypse and deal with Magneto, ending the crisis.
Seeing Hawking fly towards the pyramid, Mystique didn’t command the flying mutants to intercept. Instead, she waved her hand, pointing at Storm and the others, and ordered:
“Take them down!”
Letting Hawking face the Apocalypse was Magneto’s plan so that she wouldn’t stop it.
But she couldn’t just do nothing, or Apocalypse would notice something wrong.
“No one’s stopping us? Perfect.”
With no one blocking them, Hawking punched a large hole in the pyramid, flying in with Nightcrawler.
They quickly found Apocalypse and the unconscious Professor X in the pyramid’s hall.
“Get the Professor back to the jet!”
Nightcrawler teleported next to Professor X, grabbed him, and teleported away.
Interrupted during the consciousness transfer, Apocalypse immediately opened his eyes.
“Energy Blade!”
Wasting no time, as he instructed Nightcrawler, Hawking formed an Energy Blade and aimed it at Apocalypse’s neck.
As Apocalypse opened his eyes, the Energy Blade slashed at his neck.
“Zzzzz!”
The Energy Blade’s powerful cutting force sliced halfway through Apocalypse’s neck.
However, being the oldest mutant with thousands of abilities, Apocalypse wasn’t so easily killed.
Realizing Professor X had disappeared and the transfer failed, Apocalypse roared, activating his energy absorption ability and instantly converting the Energy Blade into energy.
The Energy Blade, a cutting skill, had strong cutting power but lacked significant energy, making it easy for Apocalypse to absorb.
After neutralizing the Energy Blade, his healing ability activated, and the wound on his neck vanished.
“How dare you interrupt my sacred ritual! Feel the wrath of a god!”
Seeing the floating Hawking, Apocalypse waved his hands, forming countless spears from sand and stone, shooting them at Hawking at incredible speed.
“Of course, it wouldn’t be that easy!”
Realizing his sneak attack hadn’t killed Apocalypse, Hawking showed a hint of regret. He pulled out his Adamantium staff, deflecting the spears as he quickly flew out of the pyramid.
