Marvel: Randomly Load a Protagonist Template - Chapter 66
Six months later, at the Mutant Brotherhood’s base.
After listening to a report from a middle-aged mutant, Magneto scoffed to Raven beside him:
“See, this is typical of humans. They are always so arrogant, either trying to exterminate us or putting collars on us to make us their dogs.
Charles still naively believes that we can coexist peacefully, but this war has always been a matter of life and death!”
SHIELD could use its authority to recruit mutant agents to infiltrate the Brotherhood and spy on Magneto. So why couldn’t he use mutants to infiltrate SHIELD and gather intelligence?
Previously, he had used a mutant with the ability to sense thoughts, a Level Two mutant, to identify SHIELD agents hidden within the Brotherhood and successfully brainwashed one of them using his mutant ideology.
So, he was also aware that SHIELD had already created a drug that could temporarily neutralize mutant powers and unique collars and handcuffs that limited mutants’ abilities.
“All humans deserve to die. Let me kill that Cyclops!”
Mystique’s eyes flashed with murderous intent.
With her shapeshifting abilities, the likelihood of successfully infiltrating SHIELD headquarters and assassinating Director Nick Fury was high.
However, Magneto shook his head:
“There’s no need. He’s just a pawn. Killing him would only result in someone else taking his place. I want a permanent solution—to eradicate the entire SHIELD, or rather, all of humanity from Earth!”
The Mutant Brotherhood had recruited many mutants over the years and had become much more robust, but to confront SHIELD head-on was not yet within his grasp.
This is not only because of Captain Marvel but also because if he were to initiate a war, that naive Charles would intervene, and Charles’s subordinate, Hawking, would be very troublesome.
Unless he could resolve both sides simultaneously, a reckless confrontation would inevitably end in a disastrous defeat for his side.
Of course, since SHIELD secretly created drugs and devices to limit mutant powers, leaking this information to Charles might persuade him to remain neutral.
But for now, he felt it was still too early, as he had some preparations yet to complete.
“Raven, how is the search going for that legendary first mutant?”
“We have some leads. According to my data, his last known location was in Cairo, Egypt. But do you think he could still be alive?”
Mystique asked incredulously.
During a covert mission, she accidentally discovered information about the legendary first mutant, Apocalypse, who supposedly ruled over all humanity as a god-like figure over 5,600 years ago.
“I don’t think he’s lived that long; I just want to see if we can find something helpful. Since we’re not ready yet, let’s take a trip to Cairo to clear our minds,” Magneto replied with a smile.
Mystique nodded:
“Alright, I’ve found the pyramid’s location where he disappeared from among the remnants of Apocalypse’s followers. We might find something useful there.
On a weekend afternoon, in the basement of Heroes Alliance International, located in Manhattan, New York.
“Both of you, go full force, don’t hold back, yes, just like that.
Peter, that kick was excellent. Jessica, that punch looks more like it!”
Wearing a 200-pound, high-tech, Green Goblin-modified training suit, Hawking was conducting close combat training with Peter and Jessica.
Close combat training further develops Peter and Jessica’s strength and significantly enhances his abilities. The effect is undoubtedly better with a sparring partner than training alone.
The mutant school cannot provide this level of training as the students’ abilities still need to improve, and the professors are busy with their tasks. They cannot set aside time daily for sparring, especially when it would be a one-sided domination.
Moreover, there are few mutants with significant physical strength in the school. For instance, Wolverine’s power peaks at about five tons, Deathstrike’s is less than four tons, and Beast, the strongest in brute strength, caps at just nine tons.
Such levels of strength provide little training effect.
Under his six months of training, Peter and Jessica have already managed to exert about fifteen tons of force consistently, and in extreme cases, they can burst up to over twenty tons.
However, if you were to ask who would be more formidable in a fight, Peter and Jessica or Wolverine, it would depend on the circumstances.
Although Wolverine and his allies are at a disadvantage in strength, they have superhuman healing abilities, adamantium claws, a wealth of combat experience, and beast-like instincts.
Spider-Man possesses spider-sense, and Jessica can fly.
So, it’s easier to say with an actual fight.
“Breaking news interruption: a spaceplane over international waters has been hijacked by terrorists. Currently, there are 212 passengers aboard, and the terrorists have threatened to kill all 212 passengers.
Next, we have Daily Bugle reporter Eddie, who will provide live updates.
Hello, everyone, I’m Eddie.”
Hawking, who was deeply engaged in training, paused immediately when the news suddenly broke on the TV.
“212 people, that’s a significant mission!”
Rescuing over two hundred people in one go could easily equal a month’s worth of his usual deeds of justice; how could he not be moved?
“Prepare for action.”
Hawking pointed a finger, and his training suit instantly transformed into his signature battle suit. Peter and Jessica also quickly shed their outerwear, revealing their tight-fitting costumes underneath.
Peter was in his classic Spider-Man suit, and Jessica had designed a black leather outfit similar to Catwoman’s, complete with an identical mask.
“Let’s go!”
They took the elevator directly to the sixth-floor rooftop. Hawking took off using levitation, Jessica flew using her powers, and Peter swung from the webbing attached to Hawking and Jessica’s legs.
The trio formed a V-formation and flew towards the international waters.
Shortly after collaborating with the Green Goblin six months ago, several directors of Oscorp Industries tragically perished in a cruise accident, and Oscorp fell entirely into the hands of the Green Goblin.
Following this, with the Green Goblin’s help, he established the Heroes Alliance International in a six-story building in Manhattan.
Of course, this involved some complications, such as government skepticism about the nature of their company, issues related to the trio’s image rights, and subsequent safety concerns.
However, these were mainly resolved with the Green Goblin’s help after contacting SHIELD’s Nick Fury through Professor X.
The trio’s high popularity in New York also forced the government to make certain compromises.
Moreover, Hawking, as the principal agent, promised that the superheroes were merely assisting the police in fighting crime and complying with government laws and that the Heroes Alliance International would bear all costs resulting from damages caused by the superheroes.
