Marvel: Randomly Load a Protagonist Template - Chapter 70
Haw “Alright, Reed, I’ve got a good understanding of your project now. Turns out you’re not just after my money, but also my space station.”
Victor interrupted Reed’s incessant explanation about the project and said emotionlessly:
“But even NASA doesn’t believe your project will succeed, so why should I?”
Seeing Reed’s embarrassed expression, Victor quickly laughed and said:
“Just kidding. Seeing what others don’t and always being a step ahead that’s my talent.”
“Oh, I really can’t stand this about him.”
Standing beside them, Ben saw Victor’s pretentious demeanor and felt like punching him.
Reed quickly reassured:
“It’s okay, don’t get angry, it’s just business, just work.”
“He’s right, Ben, it’s just business.”
At that moment, a blonde woman dressed in a professional suit walked through the office door with a smile.
“My head of genetic research, Susan Storm, you both know her.”
Victor said somewhat proudly to Reed and Ben upon seeing the blonde woman.
Susan had been the goddess admired by everyone in college, and he liked her too, but unfortunately, she ended up with Reed, which he considered a poor choice.
Shortly after graduating from college, they broke up after an argument, and he, leveraging his intellect and tactics to grow his company, took the opportunity to hire Susan as his director.
In college, he was always overshadowed by Reed, who was eternally the second best and by a wide margin.
Now, with his successful career, while Reed came to him bankrupt seeking investment, and Reed’s girlfriend now his own, he couldn’t be prouder. He was planning to propose to her soon.
“Susan Storm, the Invisible Woman!”
Hearing Victor call the blonde woman by her name, Hawking squinted his eyes.
He didn’t regard the Invisible Woman highly; her abilities were decent—she could turn invisible and control energy fields, but she didn’t have significant offensive power.
What he truly valued was the Invisible Woman’s son, Franklin Richards, known as the “Powerhouse,” the strongest mutant in Marvel and the most potent elementary schooler.
Franklin was a born Level Five mutant with the tremendous powers of time travel, manipulating time, space, causality, altering reality, and creating universes.
From what he knew from short videos, as a child, Franklin had defeated the mighty demon lord Mephisto and casually created a pocket universe while playing in his bed.
He estimated that once Franklin fully mastered his powers as an adult, he might well be a multiversal entity.
If the Invisible Woman had brought her son during Wanda’s invasion, it would have been hard to say who would have won or lost.
“Maybe, secure her!”
At that moment, a thought flashed through Hawking’s mind, but he quickly dismissed it.
Franklin’s uniqueness meant that no matter which universe or who the Invisible Woman married, even if it were Doctor Doom or another woman, the child would always be Franklin.
That meant if he shamelessly married the Invisible Woman, any future son would still be Franklin, making him the father of a multiversal entity.
But then again, if anyone who marries the Invisible Woman would have Franklin as a child, would that child still be his? Would there be any blood relation?
Besides, marrying a woman he didn’t know for such a reason didn’t align with his views on love.
If he came to the Marvel universe with no golden fingers (unique advantages), it would be understandable that he took these measures to survive.
But now, he has the protagonist’s template, and his strength is constantly improving. If developed well, he might even transform into a Super Level Four in a decade or two, and with other various lineage supports, his strength could rival that of the multiverse.
Moreover, Franklin does not seem to care who his father is, is indifferent to his father’s fate, and only cares about his mother.
“Maybe I should introduce her to Pietro; he always liked older women anyway.”
At that moment, Hawking remembered his brother, Quicksilver. If he becomes a brother-in-law, Franklin will become his nephew.
However, he thought again that Quicksilver was only fourteen, while the Invisible Woman appeared to be in her mid-twenties—a significantly large age gap.
Shadowcat might still be a catchphrase for women over three years who hold onto a gold brick. However, the Invisible Woman being ten years older might be acceptable to Quicksilver but not to Wanda and Vision.
“Forget it. Let nature take its course!”
After thinking for a bit, Hawking quickly dismissed these stray thoughts.
Engaging in these heterodox methods makes focusing on enhancing one’s strength better. True strength comes from within, and everything else is an illusion.
After some idle chat among old classmates to ease the awkwardness, Reed quickly got to the point:
“Victor, if you’re willing to support my plan, I’ll give you a fair cut of the total profits!”
However, upon hearing Reed’s offer, Victor first showed a hint of mockery, then a confident expression:
“Seventy-five percent of the profits will be mine, including all the patents rights, and you’ll get the remaining twenty-five percent.
No one else would take such a considerable risk on your project. And that twenty-five percent should be enough to pay off the fourth mortgage on the Baxter Building.
I bet there’ll even be a surplus to revive your bankrupt company.”
He was sure Reed had no other options, so he came to him.
Ben then angrily glared at Victor:
“Victor, your terms are too excessive!”
“That is quite excessive; I’ll just take seventy percent of the profits and all the patent rights.”
At this moment, Hawking, who had been silent, spoke up.
“What kind of person are you to compete with me!”
Hearing Hawking’ words, Victor immediately turned and faced him.
And then Hawking formally introduced himself:
“Hawking, chairman of the Avengers International Corporation, is also very interested in Mr. Reed’s project, but since Mr. Reed had already made an appointment with you, I decided to come along.”
“You? The chairman of Avengers International Corporation?”
Similarly, looking at Hawking’s youthful face, Victor was full of disbelief.
“Reed, I didn’t expect this from you, bringing a stooge to help negotiate with me,”
But before he could finish, he was stunned as Hawking had already donned golden armor and was floating in mid-air.
However, his reaction was quick, and with a chuckle, he looked at Reed and said:
“Reed, for old times’ sake, sixty percent, and the patent rights are mine!”
“Fifty percent and the patent rights are mine.”
Hawking returned to normal, a faint smile on his face.
“Forty percent and the patent rights are mine!”
Victor’s face turned sour.
“Fifty percent, and we share the patent rights.”
Hawking remained composed.
Hearing Hawking splitting the patent rights, Victor’s face changed drastically, as he risked losing all rights.
“Mr. Hawking, we can talk separately. There’s no need to continue this unpleasant competition.”
