- Chapter 86 - Creating A World With Hawking
“Hawking, Hawking, we’re ready to leave!”
Just as he sent his shadow clone off, Wanda’s “knock knock knock” came from the door.
“Let’s go, you little impatient one.”
After changing his clothes with a quick spell, Hawking opened the door and playfully pinched Wanda’s somewhat chubby cheeks. Wanda then grabbed Hawking’s arm and pulled him outside.
“They’re not ready yet; let’s make a snowman outside.”
Pietro, who had just finished wrapping his scarf, couldn’t help but complain:
“I’m also a brother. Why don’t I get this treatment?”
She would knock his teeth out if he dared pinch Wanda’s face. Being known as the tough girl at the mutant school wasn’t just for show.
“Who told you always to steal your sister’s snacks?”
Alina heard Pietro’s complaint and came over to straighten his clothes with a smile.
Pietro shrugged:
“Never mind, if she treated me that way, I’d get goosebumps. You don’t know how wild she is at school, and I feel sorry for her future boyfriend.”
“You rascal, is that any way to talk about your sister?”
Oleg, who had just come downstairs, heard this and smacked Pietro on the back of his head.
Pietro rubbed the back of his head:
“I’m just telling the truth, and even for that, I get hit. She might as well marry Hawking; he’s the only one who can handle her!”
After seeing Oleg raise his hand again, Pietro quickly “whooshed” outside.
His ability is an active skill, meaning it only works when activated. If not activated, he’s no different from an average person.
So when Oleg hit him earlier, he didn’t dodge because he hadn’t perceived the threat in time to activate his ability.
Now, seeing Oleg about to hit him again, he quickly activated his power, making it impossible for Oleg to catch him.
“This kid does make some sense, though.”
Watching this, Alina first shook her head helplessly and nodded in agreement.
If Hawking and Wanda ended up together, that would certainly be wonderful.
Wanda is a mutant, so marrying a regular person could lead to complications. Even if the person himself doesn’t mind, his family might.
But Hawking is different; he’s also a mutant, only two years older than Wanda, mature, stable, and caring, and crucially, Wanda clings to him.
Alina would be thrilled if he became Wanda’s husband in the future.
However, she feared her daughter might not be so fortunate. According to Pietro, there are numerous girls at school who like Hawking.
“Daydreaming, they’re still just kids.”
Watching his wife getting lost in her thoughts, Oleg, who knew her well, shook her out of it.
Wanda is fourteen, Hawking is sixteen; they’re not adults yet, and his wife thinks a lot.
“They’re kids now, but they’ll grow up in the blink of an eye. Of course, we must plan; otherwise, it’ll be too late once they’re grown.
It seems I need to help our little Wanda!”
Alina mused thoughtfully.
Oleg’s mouth twitched, and he led his wife outside without further persuasion.
Meanwhile, outside, Wanda and Hawking, with no talent for making snowmen, had managed to build a rather ugly little snowman, causing Pietro to burst into laughter.
However, he soon got hit by a snowball from Wanda, and suddenly, the yard was filled with flying snowballs until Oleg and Alina came out and stopped it.
The family drove into the bustling town center with music playing, surrounded by laughter, to start their big Christmas shopping spree.
They bought colorful lights, balloons, stickers, a mini Christmas tree for decorating the house, and various food items, shopping from morning until about one in the afternoon before they had everything they needed.
So, they chose a restaurant in the downtown area for lunch.
“Wanda, you’re clingy to Hawking. What will you do if Hawking isn’t around one day?” Pietro couldn’t help teasing as he watched Wanda insist on sitting next to Hawking at lunch.
Wanda pouted in response: “Then I’ll create a world that has Hawking in it!”
“Pfft!” Hawking, who had just taken a sip of water, almost couldn’t hold back a spit take when he heard this.
“Are you evolving into a Uchiha Wanda?” Pietro continued, “Wanda, even if I’m not around in the future, you must keep living happily. So many beautiful things await you to experience; never go to extremes.”
Death is a part of life, and he wasn’t sure if he could live forever or survive every significant incident.
If he died, he didn’t want his loved ones to become extreme because of his death.
Wanda’s thoughts were especially extreme, and she became more powerful, which made it easier for her to be controlled by Sissons, ultimately becoming a puppet.
In the end, he was still within the range of everyday people. Sometimes, he was ruthless, but he had his bottom line.
Unlike Magneto, who could exterminate all of humanity for the sake of mutants, was he as restrained as Professor X nor as extreme as Wanda.
If possible, he hoped the world would always remain peaceful and he and Wanda’s family could live a simple and happy life without worrying about money.
“I’m just kidding, Hawking, you’re so amazing, you’ll always be with us,” Wanda said, blinking and smiling.
“Yes, I’ll become more and more powerful, so powerful that no one can take me away from you,” Hawking responded with a smile.
As long as he was strong enough, no one could destroy what they had now.
After lunch, the family happily headed home. Hawking, Wanda, and Pietro decorated the house while Oleg and Elina sorted out the groceries they bought.
As they were about to have dinner, Hawking suddenly shivered, and new memories appeared in his mind.
His shadow clone had infiltrated the S.H.I.E.L.D. building, completed the mission, dispelled the ninjutsu, and returned the information.
“Magneto is really up to something,” Hawking thought.
One day, his shadow clone had already figured out the situation, using transformation techniques, unlocking spells, and soul-stealing curses among various magic and ninjutsu.
Indeed, as Magneto had said, S.H.I.E.L.D. had developed drugs and weapons targeting mutants. But there was no plan to attack mutants after Christmas, at least not in the short term.
“Is he trying to trick me into wiping out S.H.I.E.L.D. to drag me down, or is there another motive?”
After thinking for a moment, he formed a hand seal again and sent out another shadow clone, which flew to the mutant school.
Given the situation, he felt it was better to inform Professor X, who knew Magneto best, to see his attitude towards S.H.I.E.L.D. and Magneto before deciding.
