Marvel Rise of Lord God - Chapter 17
That night, Tony was at home, alone with countless materials.
He had been designing a highly portable, versatile, and multi-attack-mode armor, as not every mission would be as brief as the last few hours.
In case of a long-term mission, if Tony had to wear the armor continuously for safety, not only would he stink up the suit, but the energy supply wouldn’t hold up either.
Moreover, after these comparison days, Tony realized the most significant difference between his creations and those sold in the Main God Space was durability.
Simply put, durability was like a certification from the Main God Space; as long as it wasn’t depleted, the equipment was reliable and matched its description.
“Alert, Mr. Stane is approaching,” Jarvis notified Tony after detecting Stane’s presence, waking him from his immersion in materials and designs.
“Stane?” Tony looked up, puzzled, “Do I have an appointment with him today?”
“No,” Jarvis replied succinctly.
Tony scratched his head and straightened his clothes. Though there was no appointment, the visitor was a senior executive of the company and had been his assistant and elder for many years; Tony couldn’t just turn him away.
However, a sharp pain around his waist surprised Tony as Stane approached.
Looking down instinctively, it was the Saviour!
He also realized the unique effect of the Saviour and looked up in disbelief.
Stane did not knock; he stood outside and opened a silver case he held.
Jarvis magnified the image on time, and Tony was shocked upon seeing what Stane held.
“Damn!” Tony leaped to his feet.
That thing was the T-virus! Tony was confident his eyes weren’t deceiving him!
Stane gently twisted the T-virus container and threw it into Tony’s yard.
“Stane! Stop!” Tony shouted as he rushed to the door.
Stane looked up to see Tony’s furious face and was startled. At that exact moment, he realized that recognizing this object meant Tony was also a member of the Main God Space!
In an instant, the T-virus container hit the ground and shattered, its blue glow spreading rapidly, covering the entire yard.
Without hesitation, Tony rushed into the contaminated area; he had to resolve this immediately, or problems would surely follow.
Simultaneously, the badge on Tony’s body emitted a faint glow.
A series of immunity notifications popped up on the combat support panel.
This infection was much faster than a normal T-virus.
Stane, too, was infected in the vicinity of the yard; the range was too wide to escape on foot.
Stane had a countermeasure ready, another vial in the case—the T-virus antidote.
Watching Stane’s movements, Tony’s entire body surged with mechanical power, enhancing his physical capabilities.
With enhanced strength, Tony moved like a gust of wind across the yard and grabbed Stane’s hand.
With a forceful lift, Stane’s wrist loosened, and the antidote fell from his hand, caught by Tony.
Then Tony kicked Stane to the ground.
“Give it to me! Tony! Quick, hand it over!” Stane pleaded from the ground.
Tony glanced at Stane’s pitiful state, his face cold. The antidote wouldn’t be handed over; with it, researchers could more easily replicate the virus.
“You did this and still want to live! You damn butcher!” Tony gritted his teeth.
“No, no, no, it’s not as exaggerated as in Raccoon City!” Stane struggled under Tony’s foot.
Tony’s enhanced strength was now overwhelming Stane.
“The Main God Space has restrictions; it can only infect humans within the designated range once.”
Tony pulled out the Saviour, aiming it at Stane’s head, “What else, tell me.”
“The infection is fast and severe; this is a sacrificial variant virus created for propagation. I just wanted to kill you!” Stane’s eyes were bloodshot.
He could feel the changes occurring in his body.
“I surrender, give me the antidote, and I’ll surrender immediately!” Stane continued to plead.
Tony stood still, the situation now awkward. He didn’t believe Stane’s words, and after joining the Main God Space, could prison even hold him?
The awkward part was that although Tony held the Saviour, he lacked direct attack skills, and the Saviour didn’t have bullets; it was inoperable.
Meanwhile, Tony couldn’t return inside to retrieve equipment to control Stane and hide his vulnerability, leaving them in a stalemate.
Damn! I need to install a quick-equip feature on the armor!
Watching Tony’s inaction, the increasingly weakened Stane despaired.
“I know now, you just want me dead, haha… die with me…” Stane lay on the ground, using his only active skill.
Cold Calculus: In your view, probability is everything. After
Anything related to your body will change according to the highest probability of occurrence for one minute.
Cooldown: 1/1 (per world)
After using the skill, the virus within Stane reproduced exaggeratedly. At this moment, his immune system gave up resisting and directly turned traitor.
Stane’s skin swelled as if burned in just half a minute, forming blisters.
Faced with this situation, Tony couldn’t stay still.
He moved his leg off Stane’s body, nearly falling over; in the recent rush, his leg had broken.
Carefully preserving the integrity of the antidote in his hand, Tony bit his lip and walked back to the room.
If Stane was lying even at death’s door, then the antidote he held was the last hope.
Gurgle, gurgle! After Tony left, the sound of boiling water came from Stane’s body.
Countless pustules formed and burst, and the pus splattering dissolved all exposed skin, turning the exposed muscles black.
A few minutes later, Stane had grown to more than three times his previous size as time passed.
His size was now comparable to a van.
After Tony entered the house, Jarvis’s assistant immediately arrived, handling the injuries with a first aid kit.
Partially recovered, Tony stretched out his arms and donned his armor with Jarvis’s help. From the room’s surveillance monitors, he could see Stane’s transformation.
No matter how you looked at it, Stane was not improving.
