Marvel Rise of Lord God - Chapter 18
kiDuring Tony’s armoring process, Stane’s transformation slowed as the virus completely devoured his life force and mana. Due to an overall lack of energy, the virus’s transformation wasn’t fully completed and only partially occurred.
Under the combined effect of extraordinary skill and the mutated T-virus, Stane now had a deformed body with an arm nearly as big as the rest of his body, drawing significant attention.
The sight of this gigantic arm was enough to deter most people from resisting.
Besides the enlarged arm, another significant change was the layer of shiny black carapace covering Stane’s exterior.
“Heh heh…” The dying Stane emitted sounds, and purple liquid churned in his mouth, clearly not a good sign.
After pausing briefly on the spot, the reanimated Stane stood up, turning to face Tony’s house directly directly.
Stane’s last thoughts had locked the mutated zombie’s attack target and hatred firmly on Tony.
Boom! Each step Stane took with his thick legs shook the ground; the stone courtyard couldn’t stop his advance, and the walls crumbled under his force without him even trying.
The mutated Stane had made qualitative leaps in strength and defense.
Then, having completed his armoring, Tony heard the disturbance outside and swiftly flew out of the room.
Hovering in the air, Tony’s armor revealed twelve gun barrels from the forearms, six on each side.
Bang, bang, bang! The sound of gunfire merged into a continuous rattle as bullets rained down on Stane.
Stane raised his right arm, using the gigantic limb like a shield to block all incoming bullets.
After continuous shooting, which overheated the barrels, Stane remained unharmed; ordinary bullets couldn’t penetrate his armor.
Damn it! Tony cursed silently. Stane wasn’t much used before his death, but how come he became so intense after dying?
Roar! Stane, just absorbing hits until now, let out an angry roar.
Purple liquid sprayed from his mouth with the roar, aiming straight for Tony.
Tony dodged, and the liquid hit the house, easily piercing it.
Seeing the effect of the purple liquid, Tony was shocked; his armor might not withstand it.
During a moment of distraction for Tony, Stane stomped the ground forcefully, creating a large crater and leaping high into the air.
His leap resembled a giant malformed toad taking flight.
This time, Stane timed his jump well, but in Marvel’s world, the one controlling the armor wasn’t just Tony; there was also Jarvis in full operational mode.
The armor surged upwards sharply, and Stane’s arm missed Tony, grabbing nothing but the omnipresent air of Earth.
Under the force of gravity, Stane drew a parabola in the air before crashing down, smashing Tony’s house into rubble.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! Tony then fired all the missiles from his armor in one go.
As for the collateral damage to the house, money could fix it; after all, Tony’s financial capability was still effective in this place.
The fierce battle made the area seem less like New York and more like a Middle Eastern battlefield.
With agility that belied his bulky form, Stane quickly positioned his arms in front of him, and the missiles exploded upon impact without causing him any harm.
The smoke billowed, and Stane swiped it away with his hand, appearing unscathed in front of Tony again; the missiles had only succeeded in further demolishing the house.
Seeing that these attacks were ineffective, Tony’s hands came together, forming a combined laser emitter.
A thick beam of laser shot forth, hitting Stane’s raised arm.
This usually unstoppable laser finally met its match; Stane’s arm heated up a bit, but it was uncertain whether the laser emitter would overheat or Stane’s arm would fail first.
However, the next moment, Stane didn’t give Tony a chance to ponder this question.
Gathering slight strength, Stane leaped again, pushing against the laser stream.
Unperturbed, Tony utilized his agility, his main advantage over Stane.
This time, Stane’s attack wasn’t as simple as before; reaching the apex of his jump, several disgusting pus-filled sacs ejected from his back towards Tony.
The sacs thinned in the air, seemingly about to burst.
Mechanical surge! Tony injected all the remaining mechanical energy into his armor.
The sudden increase in speed allowed Tony to dodge the deadly strike, though a bit of pus landed on his lower leg armor.
In the mechanically surged state, the armor’s defensive capability significantly increased, and the pus only charred that area without penetrating the armor.
Seconds later, Tony reached a safe spot and faced Stane from above.
“Alert: Multiple connection points on the armor are damaged, flight system circuitry is severely impaired, and energy maintenance costs have increased,” Jarvis’s diagnostic alerts sounded within the armor.
Tony hovered in the
Air it at a stalemate.
Stane below fixed his gaze on Tony, following him wherever he flew.
To prevent accidental injuries, Tony dared not accelerate to maximum speed, uncertain who Stane might target next if the hate chain broke.
Tony could only hover in the air and wait it out with Stane, enduring as his adrenaline from the fight eased the pain in his leg.
However, the armor’s energy was running low.
Their heated battle naturally didn’t go unnoticed by S.H.I.E.L.D. and the military.
Under Pierce’s direction, Nick Fury deployed nearly half of the agents from the New York headquarters.
Sometimes, Nick would give Pierce some face, aligning with him to prioritize elimination over capture.
Of course, even if Nick didn’t cooperate, it wouldn’t make much difference since nine out of ten agents sent were from HYDRA.
The military side was even more excited; they had always been interested in super soldiers and created a Hulk.
Now that a similar creature had appeared, they definitely wouldn’t stand by; Ross wanted to secure the most significant piece of the cake even if he couldn’t monopolize it.
Tony’s plan was simple: anyone wanting to scavenge was welcome as long as they arrived quickly enough.
Dodging was also very energy-consuming, and Stane’s combat intelligence wasn’t low; he occasionally sprayed some pus, knowing that Tony couldn’t leave and didn’t dare to land.
It is forcing Tony to expend energy to keep moving continuously.
