Marvel Rise of Lord God - Chapter 23
As Ajie, Tony, and Alice neared their destination, Qi Yun took a deep breath and stepped forward.
With this step, he crossed countless star seas, and in the next moment, he stood unhidden and boldly outside the barrier of the target world.
Sensing the presence of Qi Yun, who often disturbed its peace, the world consciousness was stirred into activity once again.
This time, Qi Yun did not attempt to enter, having collided several times with the firewall constructed by the world consciousness, regrettably finding his efforts insufficient to breach it.
Instead, Qi Yun simply stood his ground, quietly observing the world consciousness’s actions, his presence meant to draw attention and thus divert it from elsewhere.
As tensions rose, three inconspicuous orbs flew out from a point opposite Qi Yun and struck the barrier.
The orbs changed colors continuously during the collision, their energy essence fluctuating with the changing colors, and soon, they passed through the world barrier’s scrutiny and entered the world.
Having achieved his goal, Qi Yun did not leave. He enhanced the trio’s safety by remaining to distract the instinct-driven world consciousness.
During the transition, Tony suddenly felt a series of tremors. The shaking was brief but intense and, due to his sensitivity, caused Tony to lose consciousness.
However, within seconds, the orbs carrying Tony reached the target world, and the shaking ceased.
After completing their primary task, the orbs that had transported him exploded into scattered points of light, merging into the surrounding world.
Opening his eyes to familiar sunlight, Tony rubbed his head as he exited the bed. His head felt as if someone had stuffed a stun baton into it, causing unbearable pain.
Enduring the pain, Tony surveyed the room he was in.
The room was small, about the size of a bedroom, with no bed. The bedding was laid directly on the wooden floor.
The room’s other furniture and the only door were all made of wood, and everything was styled in a traditional Japanese manner.
These details, though minor, were enough for Tony to preliminarily deduce that he was in a world resembling ancient Japan.
?World traversal completed, mission assigned, identity camouflage activated…?
?Alert, exposure of identity will significantly increase the difficulty of the world…?
Mission World: Naruto
World Difficulty: lv5-lv???
World Origin: 0%? (Surviving in this world will grant a certain amount of World Origin.)
World Introduction: The primary political landscape has stabilized after years of warfare. The Village Hidden in the Leaves, being the most substantial ninja village, is constantly under surveillance, and everything began with the tailed beast attack over a decade ago…
Ninjas? Tony frowned, recalling that ninjas were associated with the world’s most secretive and brutal tasks.
Reading the world introduction, it seemed like ninjas operated like a military.
Main Mission: The Destruction of the Konoha Plan
Hint: This mission is optional.
Mission Introduction: One of the former Sannin, Orochimaru, harboring unspeakable motives, planned and launched the destruction of Konoha…
Mission Information: Opens after choosing a faction.
Mission Rewards: Visible after choosing a faction.
Seeing the only highlighted mission, Tony rolled his eyes. Another story of betrayal—these stories never seemed to grow old.
After confirming the mission, Tony started checking his pockets. He was dressed in a standard set of clothes, and his pockets contained some papers marked with numbers, apparently the currency of this world.
Besides the pitiful cash, Tony found nothing else; the mercenary he was playing was indeed poor, lacking even proper armor or weapons. The situation was clear: to complete the mission, he must choose a faction, and from the looks of the mission prompt, he would have to figure out how to join on his own.
Considering that this world was designated as cooperative, Tony first looked for teammates. If the three chose different factions, they might fight among themselves.
Opening the sliding door, Tony faced a narrow hallway with rooms on either side, each door marked with a nameplate.
Turning around, the nameplate on his room read “Tony Stark.” It appeared these plates displayed the names of the occupants.
“Looks like I’ve found my teammates, maybe even someone I know,” Tony noted during his sweep and spotted a familiar name, Alice, and another unfamiliar name, Qi Jie.
With hope, Tony approached the room labeled with Alice’s name and gently tapped on the nameplate.
Inside, Alice, experiencing her first Main God mission, was a bit confused.
When she heard the knocking, her spirits shot up, and she scanned the surroundings thoroughly.
“Tony?!” Alice exclaimed softly in surprise, then opened the door.
“It is you!” Seeing Alice, Tony was also pleasantly surprised. “You’ve joined the Main God space too?”
As Tony spoke, his mind flashed back to the scene of Alice fiercely beating the stalker Matt.
Alice
Nodded, vaguely remembering that someone had invited her, though she could no longer recall what that person looked like. The only detail she remembered was a matchstick.
A burning matchstick was warmly comforting, and every time she thought of it, Alice felt a warm flow throughout her body, though she didn’t know precisely what a matchstick could warm.
“Do you two have no sense of concealment at all?” a deep and familiar voice came behind Tony.
Tony turned to look, even more surprised to find another acquaintance, Ajie!
However, Tony hesitated to recognize him, as Ajie’s demeanor didn’t match his memory of him.
“Ajie?” Tony asked softly.
Ajie nodded, his expression as serious as ever, and motioned, “Come into my room. It’s too strange standing in the hallway.”
Alice looked at Tony, waiting for his decision, as she perceived that Tony and Ajie knew each other.
Tony was hesitant, concerned that his sudden change in demeanor might indicate a crisis upon entering this mission world.
Possibly reassured by the cooperative nature of the world assigned by the Main God space, Tony finally decided to bring Alice into Ajie’s room.
