Marvel Rise of Lord God - Chapter 24
The atmosphere became quite awkward after they settled into the same room. Ajie, whom Tony considered the most experienced, sat cross-legged on the floor, silent.
Tony and Alice exchanged glances, then remained quiet as well.
At this moment, Ajie’s mind was spinning rapidly.
He knew both people; should he treat them as strangers according to his original plan?
No, Qi Yun values them; I should be more sociable. But changing my attitude and behavior pattern is so exhausting…
Regrettably, I was too focused on boxing and didn’t listen to Qiqi…
The silence stemmed from this. Ajie wasn’t bad at thinking, but his thoughts could wander once he started.
After estimating that about five minutes had passed, Tony felt it was crucial to act quickly upon entering a new world, and this waiting seemed inappropriate.
“Ajie, did you call us here to discuss something?” Tony broke the silence, taking the initiative.
“Ah?” Ajie’s thoughts snapped back to the present, a bit bewildered as he looked at Tony, completely ruining the aloof image he had tried to project.
Seeing Ajie like this, Tony felt relieved; this more familiar version of Ajie was easier to deal with.
Did you call us here to discuss which faction to choose? Tony continued.
Ajie realized his persona had utterly collapsed but decided to drop the act since it was already ruined.
“Since it’s a cooperative mission, choosing one faction is best. Infighting in such a difficult world is akin to suicide,” Ajie said, tapping his arm, now trying to mimic Qiqi’s way of thinking to avoid getting off track again.
“I think so too. It’s best if we all choose one faction. Alice, what do you think?” Tony gradually regained his confidence and command.
Both could overpower him in combat power, but he still had his strengths.
“No objections… But I seem to have heard of this ‘Naruto’ somewhere…” Alice frowned, pondering.
Her immense mental power allowed her to trace her memories quickly, and she soon found the source of her familiarity.
“I remember now. It seems to be a manga,” Alice opened her eyes wide.
In one of her past cycles, curious about whether other regions might have a way to break the cycle, she visited Japan, where she heard about this manga called ‘Naruto.’
“Manga?” Tony was momentarily taken aback; his personal space shifted, and an arm-mounted cannon floated beside him while a monocular extended from his ear.
“JARVIS, search the database for the keyword ‘Naruto manga.'”
After Tony issued the command, the floating cannon vibrated slightly, indicating that JARVIS was operating at total capacity.
While JARVIS was searching, Alice wasn’t idle either. She extended her mental energy in a line from the room, preparing to gather preliminary intelligence.
“Link to relevant information not found…”
“I couldn’t find any manga called ‘Naruto,’ Ajie. Does it ring any bell to you?” Tony followed up.
Ajie thought back, the most frequent memory being a heavily scarred punching bag but nothing else significant.
Seeing Ajie shake his head, Tony sighed, a potential clue gone.
“Then let’s do this: we’ll each search for information separately and meet back before tonight to decide which side to join and then figure out how to make contact.”
“No problem, but be careful to keep a low profile, especially try not to discuss mission-related matters in public places,” Ajie cautioned.
“And also, conceal your strengths. I didn’t reach out far with my mental energy before detecting a huge threatening energy entity. I’ve sent the attributes I detected to our team channel; you can check it out first,” Alice added quickly. That entity was like a blaze of fire, igniting her mental energy. Luckily, it seemed suppressed by something; otherwise, Alice wouldn’t have escaped unscathed.
“Team channel?” When the team channel showed only Alice’s detection results, Tony was about to ask.

Seeing the data Alice had detected, Tony was taken aback; was this world a devil’s playground? Was any random monster appearing? Was this terrifying?
Considering the nonlinear growth of attributes in the Main God space, even a slight increase made a considerable difference; 21 points of strength would have far more impact than 20.
With such luxurious stats and a series of skills, Tony felt Alice might have detected a boss.
While in shock, Ajie inexplicably took off his jacket and loosened his joints.
“What are you doing?” Tony asked, watching him.
“It’s been a while since I’ve had a worthy opponent. This monster deserves a fight!” Ajie’s heart raced with excitement.
“Aren’t you planning to complete the mission?” Alice was surprised by Ajie’s audacity, though she didn’t think much of it since, despite its strength, the Nine-Tailed Fox wasn’t unbeatable; she could still hold her own against it.
Ajie stiffened, returned to normal, sighed, and put on his clothes. “I’m going to gather information. See you tonight.”
Watching Ajie’s disappointed look, Tony’s mouth twitched, thinking that once he secured his personal space and expanded it, he would set up an armory inside— if he couldn’t match the quality, he’d make up in quantity!
