Marvel Rise of Lord God - Chapter 39
Tsunade’s arrival has invigorated Orochimaru, knowing that this cycle might finally be broken with the presence of the Fifth Hokage.
Tsunade significantly alleviates the pressure on Konoha’s side. As one of the Legendary Sannins, she remains one of the top ninjas even if her combat prowess isn’t on par with Jiraiya or Orochimaru.
Far beyond the barriers of this world, Qi Yun shares Orochimaru’s delight, observing everything from afar. World consciousness’s actions, increasingly desperate and unmasked due to the script’s chaos, do not escape Qi Yun’s eyes.
Qi Yun’s finger moves slightly, touching the void. An invisible wave pulses from his fingertip, creating ripples as it strikes the barrier.
From this attack, it’s evident that world consciousness’s resistance is waning, suggesting that Tsunade’s premature entry into the battlefield was troublesome but managed to distract it.
Qi Yun, drawing closer, nearly touches the barrier separating him from the Naruto universe.
Under the immense pressure of Qi Yun, world consciousness grows increasingly anxious. Commands are issued within, but mobilizing its agents isn’t straightforward—they’re too cunning, halting their actions once they detect deviations in their behavior.
Directing such a scenario requires time to yield results, and that’s precisely what world consciousness lacks now.
Observing through the markers on individuals like A’jie, Qi Yun watches Orochimaru’s forces rapidly advance, threatening to flatten Konoha. Just as it seems all is lost, new reinforcements arrive.
Orochimaru then reveals his backup plan: a series of coffins emerge from the ground.
As the coffins open, familiar faces of Uchiha clan members who died in Konoha’s internal political struggles emerge. Led by two powerful Uchiha Mangekyo Sharingan, Uchiha Izumi, and Uchiha Fugaku, it becomes clear why Danzo has been no sign on the battlefield.
Danzo, who had hoped to use Orochimaru to clear his path to becoming Hokage, realized too late that he had invited a wolf into the house. Orochimaru was not there to negotiate but to kill. With overwhelming informational advantage, Orochimaru saw through all of Danzo’s plans. The multitude of Sharingan eyes Danzo possessed served merely as mediums for the Reanimation Jutsu, failing to provide significant resistance before his death.
As Orochimaru activates the coffins, it’s ironic that Danzo, intending to use Orochimaru’s power to ascend as Hokage, becomes a tool in his game. Upon attempting to resurrect Danzo, Orochimaru finds that Danzo has somehow prevented his soul from being in the expected place, making Reanimation impossible.
With the re-emergence of these powerful Uchiha, who hold deep grudges against Konoha’s leadership, the front lines of defense collapse completely. The world consciousness is thrown into disarray as this scenario spirals out of control beyond the help of a couple of Kage-level ninjas.
The only recourse might involve figures like Uchiha Madara or Nagato with the Rinnegan, but their allegiances don’t lie with Konoha. Bringing them into the fray under these circumstances could spell the end for Konoha.
Thus, the only remaining option is a drastic one: resetting the timeline to trigger the cycle earlier.
As world consciousness begins to act recklessly, Qi Yun smiles slightly, the shadow of the Main God Space forming behind him. He taps lightly towards the Naruto world, his palm emitting powerful waves that lock the timeline and trap world consciousness.
The plan to restart the cycle nears completion before it even starts.
Realizing that the situation is irretrievable, world consciousness releases its accumulated energy, which spills into Orochimaru and others. Opting for a scorched earth policy, it prefers to let the world collapse and reform rather than relinquish control to Qi Yun.
Orochimaru, feeling an unexpected surge in his chakra, stops his assault. He looks up to see the sky cracking as if about to shatter, the earth screaming in agony—all signs of an impending world end.
“What is happening…” Orochimaru wonders, looking around as everyone on the battlefield seems distorted, consumed by a frenzy of destruction.
“Is the world about to be destroyed?” Unlike his intentions with the cycle, Orochimaru never wanted total annihilation; breaking the cycle was meant to free everyone from their scripted fates, not their lives.
“No! There’s still hope!” Orochimaru spots the last anchor points in this timeline—Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, glowing with a golden light.
This light, while repairing the world’s cracks, can’t keep up with the rate at which they’re
Forming.
In this moment, Orochimaru’s goal shifts from killing Naruto and Sasuke to protecting them. He attempts to call off the attack, but the resurrected dead ignore him and continue their assault.
To make matters worse, as the world edges closer to destruction, the weaker ninjas in Konoha’s ranks lose their minds and begin a murderous rampage.
Naruto and Sasuke are in grave danger.
