Marvel Rise of Lord God - Chapter 51
This factory was the culmination of Tony Stark’s long efforts and a crucial part of the roadmap he had designed for his future. The factory consisted of four main manufacturing components. The first and most important was the central control room, which housed a simplified AI. While less intelligent than JARVIS, this AI was sufficient for the automated factory’s needs.
The second component was the energy harvesting device, capable of receiving various forms of energy, including coal, oil, natural gas, and solar power. The device transformed these energies into the primary weapon’s energy reserve.
The third was a streamlined armament factory. Upon receiving commands from the central control room, the factory would automatically produce lightweight weapons. These weapons were unmanned, and the factory could make certain specific parts in addition to weaponry.
The fourth component was the repair station, which could repair most machinery, including Tony’s various suits of armor, given all parts were available.
By bringing this device into the mission world and giving Tony time to set up the base factory, he could be described as a one-person army!
“Subordinate command received. Do you wish to commence operations?” the central control room asked Tony after Coulson pressed the button.
Tony glanced at the screen and recalled that the internal password encoding was from the button he had distributed.
“Command confirmed, begin operations!” Tony ordered.
The moment the command was issued, the assembly line factory roared to life, producing one micro-fighter jet after another.
Given all parts were available, the factory could assemble over a thousand micro-fighter jets within ten minutes.
However, these jets were significantly stripped down in all aspects except for the weapons, propulsion, and navigation systems, which Tony had enhanced.
Simply put, they were fragile cannon fodder capable of remote-controlled attacks.
Five minutes later, an initial squadron took off from the base, heading straight for New Mexico.
“Hmm… The construction speed is decent, and the defect rate is acceptable. Now, it’s just the issue of miniaturization,” Tony mused, stroking his chin as he looked out the window at the entire base.
In his vision, the entire base would gradually evolve from the central control room, which had to be small enough to fit into a personal storage space; otherwise, it would all be for naught.
Unfortunately, despite Tony’s efforts, the main control room was still too large to fit.
Conversely, Coulson pressed the button and received no feedback, leaving him somewhat confused.
Is the device broken? Coulson tapped the button, puzzled.
“Forget it, all combat personnel. Follow me!” Coulson commanded, leading them to fulfill their duty. Even if the opponent was unbeatable, they could not lose their courage!
Minutes later, Coulson and his team approached the Destroyer.
The Destroyer’s annoyance was currently locked on Sif and the Warriors Three. It seemed Loki planned to eliminate these rebels first before slowly dealing with Thor.
“Sir, please set the attack target,” the button suddenly spoke, startling Coulson.
He hastily picked up the button, which emitted a red laser beam.
“Please aim the laser at the target unit, then press the attack button on the right,” the voice continued to instruct.
Coulson followed the tutorial, aiming the button at the Destroyer, and the laser successfully targeted its shell.
“No attack target detected. Please reset.”
The laser could not lock the Destroyer’s shell; Tony’s built-in scanning device failed in front of Asgardian special armor.
“Reset? How do I reset this?” Coulson frantically waved the laser over the Destroyer.
Wait! Coulson realized he could try locking onto something else if the Destroyer were unforgettable.
With a new idea, Coulson flicked his wrist, shifting the laser’s target to the ground beneath the Destroyer.
“Target confirmed, saturation strike countdown 26 seconds…”
With just seconds remaining in the countdown, Coulson could hear the buzzing sound coming from the horizon.
It was like a swarm of locusts during a plague, only this time, the “locusts” were more sci-fi and lethal.
Thin energy beams shot out from beneath the micro-fighter jets as the target area came within range.
The target point was beneath the Destroyer’s feet, and since the micro-fighter jets attacked from above, the Destroyer was directly in the path of the beams.
Hundreds of jets attacking simultaneously created a curtain of rain on the battlefield.
Coulson gaped at the reinforcements he had called, overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the attack. Even S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Helicarrier wouldn’t withstand such a strike.
Under Loki’s control, the Destroyer instinctively went on the defensive, but once the attack hit, Loki realized he had overestimated the strikes.
The beams hitting
The Destroyer was as ineffective as human handguns against monsters in the Ultraman series, barely impacting it.
The only natural effect was obscuring the Destroyer’s view, buying some time for Sif and others to catch their breath.
The jets continued their assault non-stop, even as their launchers overheated.
The Destroyer’s faceplate opened, emitting a thick beam of energy.
As the Destroyer’s head turned, tracing an arc across the sky, the micro-fighter jets were like mosquitoes hitting an electric swatter, instantly scrapped upon contact.
Soon, the sky was much more apparent, with only a few jets that had luckily escaped still making feeble attacks.
“Let me go. This started because of me, and it should end because of me,” Thor said, patting Sif’s shoulder after witnessing the near-total destruction of the reinforcements.
“But!” Sif started to protest.
Thor smiled at her, “Enough, it came for me, and besides, Asgard still has much unfinished business. So as long as the purpose is achieved, it won’t cause more destruction here.”
In his final moments, Thor’s intelligence seemed to kick in, and he appeared to embody a king.
The mark of a true king is not the absence of war with foreign enemies but the ability to assess and strive to win every battle!
Reckless actions should be avoided if one’s strength is insufficient to handle a war. This was the real reason Odin was disappointed in Thor; lacking brains wasn’t the issue. It was lacking brains when strength was also insufficient.
