Marvel Rise of Lord God - Chapter 57
On the other hand, when Nie Lu opened his eyes and regained his vision, he found himself in the Main God Space, surrounded by darkness with nothing else visible. As Nie Lu wondered where he had ended up, an announcement from the Main God Space echoed in his ears.
“Welcome to the Main God Space, the initial choice of benefits completed…”
“The presence of the invitation ticket was detected, and the free inquiry count increased to three. Please ask your questions…”
While listening to the announcement, Nie Lu watched the golden ticket in his hand float into the air and slowly fade away, leaving him stunned.
The events unfolding before him completely surpassed Nie Lu’s imagination.
“Alert, initial stay time is 30 minutes, and please be mindful of the time…”
“Wow…” Nie Lu returned to reality, realizing he was in some incredible place and had three opportunities to ask questions.
After some deep thought, Nie Lu posed his first question.
“Why has my world suddenly experienced a drastic drop in temperature?”
“Ice World’s upgrade failed, energy absorption rate significantly reduced, world core damaged, the internal temperature of the world significantly decreased, the remaining lifespan of the world estimated at 125 years…”
Hearing the response, Nie Lu’s mouth fell open in shock. Only 125 years of lifespan left for his world? That might seem long in human terms, but it’s incredibly short for a world.
Now, they wouldn’t have to worry about the earth’s coal mines being depleted because the world would end before the coal resources ran out.
With the answers provided by the Main God Space, Nie Lu had many questions he wanted to ask but now was not the time. With only three questions, he couldn’t afford to waste them.
With this in mind, Nie Lu took even longer to think, thankfully remembering there was a time limit in this place.
“My second question is, how can I save my world?”
“Based on the analysis, the most successful methods for a qualified individual include one, inputting energy to assist the world in successfully transitioning until its functions recover; two, using special means to increase the world’s energy absorption rate…”
Nie Lu listened, growing more confused. He was just a small team leader from Winter Home, used to managing only a few survivors, and now he was suddenly expected to aid an entire world. This leap in responsibilities felt overwhelming.
After pausing to calm his nerves, Nie Lu asked his third question, “How can I accomplish the two possibilities mentioned above?”
“Strive to complete missions, improve mission ratings, earn Main God credits and merit points, exchange for special items related to the world…”
“Inquiry count depleted, benefits unlocked, please make a selection…”
Nie Lu closed his mouth, poised to ask more about the wizard and the spell, but the opportunity to ask questions was too limited.
Having completed his questions, Nie Lu looked at the Main God Space’s benefit options.
Benefit 1, Awakening of the Ice Bloodline: Awaken the dormant ice bloodline within you, gain significant ice resistance, a small number of bloodline spells, and a chance to obtain casting abilities.
Benefit 2, Master of Arms Trial: A chance for those who have long used irregular weapons to have a one-time opportunity to become a Master of Arms.
Benefit 3, Physical Enhancement: Heal certain physical injuries, enhance current physical condition, improve resistance to physical attacks, recovery capabilities, etc.
Benefit 4, Against-the-Current (invitation option): Earn the title ‘Against-the-Current.’ At the end of each mission world, an evaluation is performed, and rewards are issued based on the review and standards of ‘Against-the-Current,’ with the minimum reward being none.
Considering the four benefits, Nie Lu first eliminated Benefit 3. While it seemed appealing, it paled in comparison to the others.
Option 1 was the second Nie Lu eliminated. The Ice Bloodline was appealing, but what Winter Home, what Ice World, needed most was warmth, not ice. Choosing this might keep Nie Lu alive, but it wouldn’t significantly improve the survival conditions for others.
Following this line of thought, Nie Lu also eliminated Option 2. Master of Arms sounded powerful, but he knew his limitations with weapons; he used irregular weapons because no standard ones were available.
The final option, by process of elimination, should have been the least appealing, but the annotations next to it made Nie Lu subconsciously weigh it more heavily.
According to the description, this title might not boost immediate combat abilities but would significantly aid future development.
Considering the source of the invitation, Nie Lu decided to trust the wizard and chose the fourth option.
“Benefit selection completed, semi-digitized combat assistance system activated.”
“Warning: this system is only for assistance. Damage to vital organs like the heart or brain will still result in the death of the qualified individual.”
“Semi-digitized combat assistance system?” As Nie Lu thought about it, a personal panel popped
Up in his mind.
Name: Nie Lu
Occupation: None
Level: None
Vitality: 77%
Strength: 7
Agility: 7
Intelligence: 4
Stamina: 6
Charm: 5
Luck: 7
Blessing of Fortune (Initial Talent): All your actions will receive a slight luck adjustment. In combat, based on the difference in luck between you and your opponent, your enemy will receive an additional dose of misfortune, and you will gain additional luck, with this effect lasting up to ten minutes.
Indomitable Will: Long-standing hardship has endowed you with an unbreakable will, granting you additional bonuses in all mental and willpower checks.
Glancing at his panel, Nie Lu was suddenly grateful for his choice. With his intelligence at only four points, the chance of gaining casting abilities from Option 1 would have been especially low.
“Initial stay time depleted. Please choose to return to the original world/enter the mission world ahead of schedule.”
“Note, choosing to return means the qualified individual will enter the mission world after 24 hours; choosing to enter early grants an additional level of identity disguise.”
Prompted by the Main God Space, Nie Lu decisively chose to enter early.
There was no point in returning, as Winter Home couldn’t offer him more, and staying an extra day would just use up more resources that could be better allocated to others. Besides, entering early also came with rewards.
After making his choice, Nie Lu felt everything go dark before him. The time consumed in this transition was very short; in his perception, it lasted less than five seconds.
