Marvel Rise of Lord God - Chapter 58
Quickly, Nie Lu found himself in a large house filled with many things he couldn’t understand, feeling out of touch with the times.
“World transition complete, mission issued.”

“Defend New York City?” Thinking this, Nie Lu walked over to a window and saw the ceaseless flow of vehicles and crowds of pedestrians.
“Identity distribution commencing… Introduction to world knowledge…”
As the Main God Space spoke, Nie Lu flooded his mind with endless information.
Character Template: S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent
Name: Nie Lu
Identity Brief: You are a field agent for S.H.I.E.L.D., recently joined, and need to gain experience in mission execution.
Additional Identity Rewards: Basic Firearms Mastery (Temporary), Basic Stealth (Temporary)
Basic Firearms Mastery: You can proficiently handle and use most automatic, semi-automatic, and pistols.
Basic Stealth: Long-term training has given you considerable ability to infiltrate and conceal your presence; non-professionals can hardly detect you when you choose to hide.
After the tidal wave of information entered his brain, Nie Lu found himself physically altered in minor ways related to the temporary skills, such as calluses on specific parts of his hands from handling weapons.
Breathing heavily, Nie Lu carefully closed the curtains. With the knowledge of the Main God Space and his agent experience, he knew to avoid one crucial thing: cameras.
Nie Lu also learned about his mission assigned by S.H.I.E.L.D.: to monitor the underground emperor, Kingpin of New York City, and report any findings to his superiors, and absolutely no unauthorised action was allowed.
Rubbing his temples, Nie Lu stood up, recognising that this mission was designed to familiarise new agents with their roles.
Because Kingpin had long compromised the house prepared by S.H.I.E.L.D., both Kingpin and S.H.I.E.L.D. were well aware of this.
For Nie Lu and other new agents termed surveillants, it was more about being a messenger between Kingpin and S.H.I.E.L.D.
After drawing the curtains, Nie Lu, thinking through his next move, was confident that his unusual actions had gone undetected as the room lacked surveillance.
Knock, knock, the door was knocked at that moment.
“Who is it?” Nie Lu asked.
“Delivery, please open the door,” a man’s voice came from outside.
Nie Lu instinctively reached for the automatic rifle by his side, remembering that he hadn’t ordered any delivery.
“You must have the wrong door. I didn’t order any delivery,” Nie Lu cautiously positioned himself in the safest part of the room.
This spot was a blind spot; anyone breaking in through the door couldn’t shoot him immediately unless their bullets could turn corners.
Moreover, the corner’s structure was specially reinforced, able to withstand a normal grenade without much problem.
After waiting for a while, there was still no response from the door. Nie Lu, slightly relaxed, pulled out a smartphone and unlocked it with his fingerprint. The phone’s screen showed the door’s surveillance video.
The video showed no one at the door.
Dragging the timeline, Nie Lu saw that the delivery person had already left, leaving just a pizza box on the ground.
The delivery person was black, with a hat covering his face; from the surveillance, it was impossible to see his face.
After careful observation, Nie Lu noticed that the person’s physique was also disguised, which was professional concealment work that not everyone could achieve. This led him to suspect that this person might also be an agent.
Considering this, Nie Lu reported the information through the internal network.
The reply from his superiors came quickly; S.H.I.E.L.D. dispatched the delivery person, and the whole process was a test, a basic assessment for new agents like Nie Lu.
After repeatedly confirming the superior’s reply according to the procedure, Nie Lu cautiously moved to the door with the rifle in hand.
An agent’s most important trait is vigilance, never fully relaxing regardless of the situation.
After ensuring his defences were in place, Nie Lu carefully opened the door, grabbed the pizza box, and brought it inside with the speed of a lifelong bachelor.
Opening the box
, inside was a device that Nie Lu found somewhat incomprehensible.
Beneath the device was a manual explaining that this was a new detection device, with technology support provided by Tony Stark.
Upon activation, the device could scan a range within one kilometre, detecting if there were individuals whose energy levels exceeded the average human.
Nie Lu positioned the device by the window, aimed it at Kingpin’s lair, and turned it on.
A minute-long scanning time quickly elapsed, and the results from Kingpin’s lair were displayed on the device’s screen.
Besides the most common white dots, the lair contained three yellow dots and one red dot.
After returning these data to headquarters, Nie Lu’s phased mission was considered complete.
At S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Coulson sat in his office, reviewing the detection reports sent by various agents.
After Tony Stark created the device, S.H.I.E.L.D. immediately conducted a large-scale search of New York.
So far, many yellow dots have been discovered; these dots represent individuals with physical qualities or internal energies beyond normal humans.
Black Widow Hawkeye and some senior agents were marked with yellow dots.
The meaning of red dots was even more straightforward: the target’s energy level exceeded the device’s detection limit, marking them as key focus individuals; in most cases, these individuals were members of the Main God Space, typically not newcomers.
“So many special personnel in New York already…” Coulson muttered, touching his forehead.
According to the data, there were twenty-three individuals in New York City whose energy levels exceeded their apparent identities, and additionally, seven individuals were marked with red levels.
