Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 14
An ordinary office building on the street constantly sees formally dressed office workers coming and going. Unbeknownst to them, the fifth floor of this building houses a Reyes Industries lab. Here, crudely processed venom sap, dried under high-temperature sodium lamps, turns into a cocaine product.
Each year, this site produces nearly 1.5 tons of the substance.
Reyes Industries keeps its operations highly secretive, to the extent that even the clerks working downstairs are unaware that a narcotics hive operates right beside them, continuously producing the addictive and corrupting powder.
Fortresses, as they say, are often breached from within. An insider from the Mata Group discovers this lab in Reyes Industries.
A somewhat rundown van parks across the street from the office building. Broly and his team sit inside, their faces covered by masks.
“Wipeout everyone inside, and Balor Mata will pay us $200,000. The big guy gets $50,000, and the rest share $150,000. This is Mata Group’s Fernando; he will follow up with us to check the results but won’t participate. All right, everyone syncs, watches, and checks your weapons. We move out in three minutes,” Jack instructs. Broly, being a mutant, gets the largest share, a common unspoken rule among mercenaries.
A series of bolt actions are heard as they pack their rifles in travel bags and move to the building next door. According to insider information, the office building’s elevators and security passages are monitored by cameras, making a direct assault risky.
Once on the rooftop, Wade opens the travel bag and pulls out a grappling hook launcher. With a quick aim, he fires it. A whistling sound ensues as the launched hook, with its rope, firmly anchors onto the office building’s exterior wall.
Broly leads the way, hooking onto the rope and sliding towards the office building. He kicks at the window frame, completely dislodging the window and leaving a gaping hole.
Inside, Reyes Industries members are busy manufacturing drugs, too occupied to react to the sudden assault.
Broly moves swiftly.
“Bang!”
He kicks the nearest gunman, and his roughly 220-pound body is sent flying through the air, lifeless eyes bulging, dead before he even hits the ground.
Broly consciously restrains his strength output to avoid revealing his identity.
Before the rest can react, Broly pulls the trigger. Hot casings eject from the gun, and the rapid-fire bullets tear through soft flesh, quickly bringing down everyone in the room.
?Experience +10??Experience +8??Experience +9??Experience +8?…
With each level up, the experience he gains from these rank-and-file enemies decreases.
Wade is the second to jump into the room, swiftly rolling to the ground and kneeling, ready to shoot. His actions reveal him as an experienced warrior, not just a talker.
Realizing that everyone in the room was dead, he somewhat sullenly stood up, looking surprised at Broly.
Among the mercenaries, mutants weren’t rare; after all, everyone needed to eat. While Wade had worked with mutants before, seeing one with such clean and efficient skills was his first time.
Many mutants are proud of their abilities looking down on regular humans. However, on the battlefield, those who often die first are these arrogant ones, ironically killed by the very firearms they underestimate.
“Keep pushing forward; there are probably about ten more enemies here!”
Alejandro slid down the rope into the room, not doubting Broly’s combat prowess after witnessing his true strength.
“I’ll take the lead this time!”
Wade said,
Although he seemed like a carefree joker who loved cracking poor jokes, he had a strong sense of pride. Being stuffed into a trash bin by Broly was one of the most significant blows he had taken in recent years. Therefore, he wanted to showcase his abilities and regain some respect. Despite feeling a pang at the loss of experience points, Broly thought about it and didn’t stop Wade.
However, Alejandro was somewhat worried.
“Be careful. I’ve heard that Reyes Industries has placed mutants at critical locations.”
Wade gave a reassuring gesture and took the lead, rifle in hand. The gunfire had already alerted the other Reyes Industries personnel in the building. In CQB (Close Quarter Battle), the person at the front is the most vulnerable.
He cautiously moved along the corridor, using the corner as a pivot to aim down the hallway, then carefully proceeded.
Wade, though frustrated, did not act recklessly but remained highly cautious.
His caution was justified; a Reyes Industries gunman was indeed lurking around the corner. As Wade advanced, he fired several shots, taking down the gunman hiding at the other end of the corner.
The intense exchange of fire continued in the confined space, with bullets whistling and leaving marks on the walls.
The mercenaries quickly gained the upper hand with their precise shooting, continuously taking down Reyes Industries gunmen, and soon, blood flowed freely.
Suddenly, everyone could hear muffled footsteps, but the chaotic gunfire made it hard to pinpoint their direction.
“Boom!”
A large hole suddenly breached the wall the mercenaries were leaning against, and a burly figure emerged.
“Mutant!”
A cry of alarm. The figure breaking through the wall stood over two meters tall, with skin like brown rock, so muscular that his body was nearly square-shaped. His face, more ape-like than human, appeared to have a troublingly small brain capacity.
His hand reached straight for Wade, judging him to be the leader of the mercenaries since he was at the forefront.
Wade, not particularly small himself, looked as feeble as a child in front of the mutant.
Just as Wade was about to be crushed, a hand suddenly grabbed the mutant’s wrist.
“Rock Ape, your opponent is me!”
Broly’s face lit up with excitement as he realized the mutant’s strength exceeded his own.
“You’re asking for death, monkey!”
The insult enraged the mutant, who clenched his other fist and swung at Broly. The punch was terrifying, like a heavy truck roaring towards him.
“Bang!”
The punch was caught again.
Broly grinned maliciously, hearing the creak of bones in his arm.
“Boom!”
He delivered a knee strike to the mutant’s midsection, sending the heavy body flying up into the air, crashing through the ceiling and getting stuck in the concrete’s steel reinforcement.
“This is my enemy; none of you interfere!”
