Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 19
“Giggle…”
Angel Dust’s teeth chatter violently with fear. Her recent attack had been the strongest she could muster, yet it barely affected the enemy. This realization saps her fighting spirit, plunging her into a despairing fear for the first time.
The fear brings tears to her eyes.
Suddenly, the hand on her shoulder loosens, and the drained Angel Dust collapses.
“You are worthy of the name warrior, the first ever to injure me! I’ll let you go this time, but don’t aid the oppressors again,” Broly hesitates, then decides to spare her. She is the first martial artist he has encountered and possesses considerable superhuman abilities and physical condition, suggesting potential for further growth.
He feels the pain in his body and starts walking towards Francis.
“Please… please…”
Angel Dust tries to plead for Francis’s life, but a look from Broly chills her to the bone.
Approaching Francis, Broly suddenly grabs his shoulder and throws him down hard, mirroring Angel Dust’s earlier technique.
“Crack!”
Before Francis can beg for mercy, he is thrown into an indescribable heap.
Though this throwing technique is much cruder than the Wolf Fang Fist or the Satan Combat Art, it proves effective, especially against larger opponents.
“Broly! Get out of there! The Mexican Army is coming!”
Alejandro’s voice suddenly rings out from an earpiece.
Broly taps his earpiece, signaling he’s aware and not ready to deal with the Mexican government yet. Getting involved at that level could complicate matters significantly.
He glances at Angel Dust, who looks dazed from Francis’s death, wanting her to leave this troublesome place, too.
“Hey…”
Before he finishes, a grenade hits Angel Dust, pinning her to the ground with an explosion, followed quickly by a second and third blast.
…
…
The Mexican Army comprises nine brigades and numerous independent battalions and companies. All nine brigade headquarters are located in Mexico City, making it the only mobile force of the Mexican Army directly controlled by the federal government. The brigades include one armored brigade, two infantry brigades, one motorized infantry brigade, one airborne brigade, three gendarmerie brigades, and one presidential guard brigade.
Despite having an armored brigade, Mexico has no active tanks. The Belgian-made AMX-13 light tanks, products of the mid-20th century, have long been outdated and decommissioned. Even the current armored vehicles, quite old and weak in firepower, include the AMX-VCI infantry fighting vehicles from the 1960s. These vehicles have thin armor and weak firepower; the Mexican Army modified them with a V8 diesel engine from Dana-Cummings and replaced the manual small turret with an HK19 grenade launcher and a 7.62mm machine gun.
In Mexico, the rampant drug lords are partly due to their weak military strength.
Major Jackson Nez sat in an AMX-VCI command vehicle, leisurely smoking a cigarette. He had volunteered for this mission. Just an hour ago, a mysterious call had come into the office. The Reyes Group was willing to pay ten million dollars just for him to command his men to pull their triggers with a bit more enthusiasm.
It was an enjoyable mission, wasn’t it? Just a word, and he could easily pocket thirty million dollars. Previously, he had secretly passed on so much information about anti-drug operations, only netting six hundred thousand. With this ten million, he wouldn’t need to continue serving just to receive the lifetime pension after twenty years of service. Twenty years of hard work only to receive 60% of his monthly salary in pension—who would want that?
Soon, a female mutant was killed. These mutants’ superpowers seemed flashy, but modern weaponry easily defeated them.
The mutant factory had offended Carlos, and he wanted them dead. Nez checked his phone; someone named Francis was on Carlos’s hit list. The nearby roads had been blocked, trapping Francis like a fish in a barrel. The soldiers would just need to disembark and search for him shortly.
The mutant factory had some connections with the U.S. military, but he couldn’t emigrate to the U.S. after retirement. However, Europe was also a good option.
“What does it matter if they’re mutants? Now they’re just corpses. They should have expected this outcome when they crossed the Reyes Group.”
Bolton had quietly left the convoy earlier, looking at the fragmented corpses of Francis and Angel Dust with a victor’s smile. The humiliation he suffered at the hands of Francis, who had picked him up like a chicken, was now washed away. He picked up his phone and told Major Jackson Nez:
“Mr. Nez, don’t let the remaining mutant escape; he kidnapped Isabel. After you kill him, locate Isabel. Mr. Carlos is willing to pay an additional five million dollars.”
He was about to put away his phone and leave this place of trouble when a vast hand suddenly gripped the hand holding his phone.
Bolton was already prominent among ordinary humans, but compared to that hand, his looked like a child’s.
He turned around to find the mutant standing behind him, having grown significantly more prominent, over two meters tall, with muscles like steel ripping through his shirt, standing like a giant from myth.
Broly snatched the phone, flipping through the chat history.
“You gutter rats!”
It wasn’t just the death of Angel Dust that enraged him; she followed Francis and deserved her fate. What angered him was that a warrior hadn’t been killed in a fair fight but was ambushed when exhausted.
This anger drove him into a rage state.
“No… you can’t kill me… we’re surrounded… killing me would leave you no escape, you’re certain to die… I… I can get you out of here.”
Broly crushed the phone in his hand, green energy bursting like flames.
(From the latest version of Dragon Ball Super, Broly’s usual state energy is white, turning green when he enters a rage state.)
He flicked his finger, and a beam of green light shot out, piercing through Bolton’s skull in an explosion, engulfing him.
“Such filthy fireworks.”
