Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 26
“Remember, it’s best not to use your powers, especially those green energy pulses if there are any witnesses around—it would cause us a lot of trouble,” Matt said while driving.
“This matter isn’t yet at the point where we need to solve it with our fists; trust me, my aim is also exact,” Broly replied, putting on sunglasses and wrapping a scarf around his lower face. Alejandro and Wade were putting on bulletproof vests, knowing that they could still die if shot.
“I can attest to that,” Alejandro said.
As they neared their destination, the road became increasingly deserted, with hardly a second vehicle in sight.
The roar of an engine approached as a motorcycle, ridden by a man with a Mexican hairdo, brazenly peered into their car.
“We’ve been spotted,” Wade said nonchalantly. “Alarcon’s men have been watching this road, and it seems we’ve hit the jackpot.”
Soon, three VW Caravelle vans caught up, their windows tinted so no one could see inside.
When the traffic light turned red, all the vehicles stopped.
“It’s time to get to work,” Matt said, drawing an M4A1 while Broly readied an earlier HK-433.
The doors of the Caravelles opened, and several oddly-shaped gang gunmen prepared to disembark. The first man barely set foot on the ground before being shot down, trapping the rest inside the van. Broly held down the trigger, unleashing a barrage of fire at the enemy vehicles.
Quickly, all three Caravelles were riddled with bullets, and the lifeless gunmen slid out of the doors. Now, they could finally emerge from their vehicles.
The rider of the motorcycle, terrified, started his bike. He hadn’t anticipated that within three seconds, those arrogant gunmen from his gang would become corpses.
He didn’t get far before a burst of blood exploded from his head, and the uncontrollable motorcycle shot off the road, crashing down meters away with his body.
“Indeed, very accurate,” Matt said, raising an eyebrow in surprise. In his view, a powerful individual like Broly would typically disdain firearms.
“Just a rabble,” Victoria Crown continued forward, leaving behind a trail of bodies.
They soon arrived at Alarcon’s mansion. The luxurious white walls, wrought-iron gates, gardens, fountains, and marble columns gave the impression of being at the Palace of Versailles.
“Seeing this house, I now understand that drug trafficking does pay,” Wade remarked before he shot a gunman wielding a grenade launcher. This shot seemed to press a button, and suddenly, gunfire erupted both inside and outside the mansion.
The four quickly advanced into Alarcon’s mansion, easily shooting down any gunmen who tried to stop them.
They soon captured Alarcon, who was attempting to escape through a tunnel, along with his wife and two sons. There was also a thin middle-aged Latin American man.
“Kill them, kill them, cackle!” Alarcon hysterically ordered the Latin American man. He looked like a kind-faced Mexican with a neatly trimmed beard and a somewhat stocky build, dressed in a suit. To anyone, he would seem like a middle management executive at a multinational corporation, not a bloodstained drug lord.
The Latin American mutant was about to unleash his power when a dagger was thrust into his jaw, piercing his brain.
Broly pulled out the dagger, flicked off the blood, and slid it back into the sheath on Alejandro’s leg.
Matt patted Alejandro on the shoulder.
“The rest is up to you now.”
Wade opened his mouth to say something but hesitated and turned away. Alejandro walked emotionlessly up to Alarcon, who quickly knelt under his icy gaze. His wife and children trembled and knelt alongside him.
He looked down at Alarcon, then glanced at the dining table laden with abundant food.
“How many families die every night because of you? And yet, you sit here in this palace, leisurely enjoying your dinner,” Alejandro said to Alarcon.
Alarcon grasped his son’s hand, mustering the courage to meet Alejandro’s gaze, his rapid breathing betraying his inner tension. However, his years of living through gunfire quickly helped him mask his nervousness.
His expression softened, looking at Alejandro like an old friend.
“I knew your wife; she was a gentlewoman. Do you think she would be proud of what you’ve become?” Alarcon asked.
Alejandro remained expressionless, but Broly saw the veins on his hand holding the gun bulge.
“And what about my daughter? Do you still remember her?” Alarcon closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
“Your daughter… you know I always keep violence as a last resort. But Carlos is different; he’s volatile, and I can’t control his decisions,” Alejandro spoke slowly.
“So I will kill Carlos, too.”
Alarcon knew today was inevitably his end. His facial muscles trembled, his eyes reddened, and tears welled up.
“At least, at least not in front of the children…”
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Three gunshots rang out, splattering blood into Alarcon’s eyes.
“As you wished,” Alejandro said, making a gentlemanly gesture.
Alarcon’s eyes widened as he wiped his eyes, the blood on his fingers glaringly red. After finishing, Alejandro dropped his rifle and sat silently on the ground.
Matt shook his head, stepped forward, and used a palm strike on Alarcon’s neck, knocking him unconscious.
“Hard to accept, kid?” he looked at Wade. “As a mercenary, you’d be used to this.”
Wade pinched his nose.
“That’s why I left Africa.”
Matt dragged Alarcon from the dining room to the study.
“You don’t look reliable, but you’re a good guy. I have to tell you something. About sixty kilometers from here, there’s a house with walls built around over forty bodies—men, women, elderly, children—enough to start a human body museum. And this guy is the main culprit.”
Matt busied himself, fetching a large bucket of water from the kitchen and looking at Wade.
“Does that make you feel any better after hearing all this?”
Wade took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, finally dropping the stern look.
“Now that you’re okay, come help me. We still have much to do in the next thirty minutes, and whether we can flush Carlos out of his hole depends on what happens next.”
