Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 36
After driving a distance, Broly deactivated his transformation technique. Oolong and Puerh’s transformation techniques can create objects. In his first appearance, Oolong created hot soup and tableware and even accidentally burned his fingers.
After upgrading Oolong’s transformation technique to level four, ordinary people could no longer distinguish the objects he created from real ones.
The identity of Bruce Wayne was intended for registering as an assassin in a continental hotel, but he unexpectedly ran into S.H.I.E.L.D. first.
Phil Coulson chose another direction to search for the Giant Ape.
“That man doesn’t have a problem? I would have to work ten years to afford his bespoke suit and watch, yet he drives such a run-down car that no one would steal if it were parked on the roadside,” said the agent sitting next to him.
“He has too many explanations that could be verified, which would waste a lot of time. Our current goal is still to deal with the Giant Ape first,” said Phil Coulson. Compared to a somewhat suspicious Bruce Wayne, the threat of the Giant Ape was more urgent.
He had just returned to the U.S. not long ago, successfully bringing back a large amount of data about the disturbance from the Mexican military, including troop numbers, commands during battle, reports, recorded survivor battle details, and communication recordings during the combat.
He suddenly received a distress call while transporting this data to the Triphylite Island headquarters. A huge Giant Ape had attacked Lahitas Town.
Fortunately, to deal with potential battles, they had brought plenty of powerful weapons, which had driven the Giant Ape away from the town center.
The fleeing Giant Ape could potentially impact surrounding cities, causing many casualties, so Nick Fury ordered him to stay in Lahitas Town to track down the Giant Ape.
“I’ve noted his driver’s license number, VIN, and license plate number. Once the Giant Ape is dealt with, there will be plenty of time to investigate.”
…
…
Tracking with combat power-detecting glasses, Broly quickly found Kakarot’s location. She was curled up, sleeping soundly under a large rock, as transforming into the Giant Ape had drained much of her energy.
Broly looked at Kakarot’s still twitching tail, hesitated momentarily, and then directly cut it off with his energy, destroying it.
The Marvel world has many advanced technologies, and he was very cautious in preventing anyone from obtaining Saiyan cells and creating creatures like cells in this universe.
In her Giant Ape form, Kakarot lost her reason, becoming a beast that knew only destruction, with disadvantages far outweighing any advantages. Now that he understood the general level of combat power on Earth and was confident he could protect her in most situations without relying on the Giant Ape form, he decided to remove the tail.
Looking at Kakarot, who now looked no different from an ordinary human child, Broly took off his coat, wrapped her in it, and held her in his arms.
His movement woke Kakarot, who immediately started crying upon seeing Broly.
“Wuu, Broly, I’m so hungry!”
She hadn’t noticed her tail was gone, nor remembered the havoc she had caused the previous night as a Giant Ape.
Broly placed her in the passenger seat and drove back to Sharp Farm. Midway, he abandoned the car in the desert, carrying Kakarot back to Sharp Farm on foot.
“I’ve already ditched your car. If anyone comes to investigate, just say it was stolen last night,” Broly said, opening his backpack and pulling out a roll of cash, a total of five thousand dollars, and throwing it to Clint Sharp. The old pickup was worth at most three thousand dollars; the rest was for sealing his lips.
He knew S.H.I.E.L.D would definitely investigate the car and trace the clues back to Clint Sharp.
Clint chuckled as he took the cash. He loved Broly’s generosity, who spent money without even blinking.
“Katrina, prepare some food for Mr. Broly!”
Broly comfortably settled on a salvaged sofa, with Kakarot curled up in his arms, her head nodding off, looking sleepy.
Katrina picked up Kakarot and realized she was only wearing a coat.
She shuddered, looked at Broly, bit her lip, and seemed to want to say something. Lahitas Town had a church where a priest abuse case happened three years ago. With the church’s cover-up, that priest was only sentenced to four weeks of community service.
“She fell into a mud pit, and her clothes were ruined, so I threw them away,” Broly casually explained.
Katrina sniffed Kakarot’s hair, detected no foul smell, and wisely didn’t ask further. She carried Kakarot to the partially destroyed bathroom to bathe her and change her into new clothes.
Soaking in the bathtub, Kakarot excitedly splashed water everywhere. It took Katrina a lot of effort to calm her down and apply some body wash.
“Wait, Kakarot, where’s your tail?”
It was then she noticed that Kakarot’s tail was missing.
“Eh, where’s my tail?” Kakarot panicked, stood up, and searched for her tail in the mirror.
The missing tail and the vanished clothes sparked a thought in Katrina’s mind, and she covered her mouth, struggling to process her speculation.
Sitting on the sofa meditating, Broly suddenly felt a gaze on him.
“What’s wrong? You look strange.”
He looked at Katrina.
“No… nothing, Kakarot is clean now.”
She hurriedly handed the cleaned and redressed Kakarot, now in a dress, back to Broly, then went to the campfire to prepare dinner.
The kitchen was completely buried under rubble, so she could only cook some meat soup over the fire.
“Thank goodness. Thankfully, they won’t stay here long and will leave soon!”
As Katrina was chopping potatoes to throw into the soup pot, she forced herself to calm down.
Her father, Clint, holding a beer, approached Broly.
“Mr. Broly, are you interested in investing?”
Broly looked at him quizzically.
“Invest in what?”
He eyed Clint skeptically.
“Of course, the farm. After the Giant Ape attacked Lahitas Town, almost all the farm owners could not repay their loans. They can only sell their farms at low prices for cash to repay their debts or else go bankrupt. But because of the Giant Ape, these farms are selling for peanuts. Only we know you have dealt with the Giant Ape, Mr. Broly. By taking this chance to buy up the farms en masse and later reselling them, we could make a fortune!”
Clint spoke with sincere enthusiasm. This idea had been bouncing around his head ever since he met Broly. He was ready to volunteer to manage this for Broly, and if successful, the commission alone would be a tidy sum.
Broly rested his chin on his hand, contemplating the feasibility of this idea. Of course, he wasn’t in it for the money, but he wondered if buying land would count as completing the primary mission, securing a habitat for the Saiyans.
