Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 4
Broly exited the tire shop and saw that Clint had obediently parked the car at the intersection, not taking the chance to escape. He opened the car door and sat inside.
He picked up the saline solution, fed it to Kakarot in his arms, and placed an ice pack on her forehead to lower her body temperature. Kakarot was exhausted and curled up in Broly’s arms, falling asleep soon after.
Although the father and daughter in the car did not see the fight inside the tire shop, they heard the gunshots and loud noises. Broly had only been inside for two minutes and then walked out unscathed, making it clear who the victor was.
“Is she your daughter?” Lily Sharp leaned on the car seat, peering out to get a better look at Kakarot, asking with some curiosity.
Her father, frightened, quickly signaled with his eyes for his daughter to behave. She was too naive. Mutants were far more brutal than she imagined.
“I’m only twelve years old,” Broly replied to her, ignoring the shock on the girl’s face, and motioned for Clint to drive away.
A breeze from outside the car window brought the wild scent of Texas.
Broly realized he had underestimated Satan-style fighting techniques. In the world of Dragon Ball, where combat powers are off the charts, Satan could only be a comedic character. But his title of World Champion was indeed earned through fistfights. This fighting technique was not weak.
Since they got in the car, the father and daughter had been talking about mutants and mentioned the weapon-selling Stark Industries. It seemed this was the Marvel Universe. Broly wasn’t sure if it was the comic or movie universe. The comic universe was dangerous, with extremely high power limits. Even a Saiyan could not fare well against the top combatants there, and the comic universe, having been rebooted multiple times, had complex settings and various plot devices.
The movie universe was much more straightforward. Although it still had characters like Captain America who could evenly match anyone, the general power levels were still ascertainable.
But he still couldn’t be sure, due to the different rules of the universe, whether a Super Saiyan could reach the world-destroying power level of his original universe.
?Experience: 26/50?
Killing those gang members in the tire shop gave him 26 experience points. To level up, he needed to kill at least five more people.
?Ding! Well done! The rescue mission was completed, and 20 Revival Points were credited!?
King Vegeta’s voice sounded timely.
Broly opened the system store, which was full of items, but unfortunately, most were too expensive for him to afford.
?Turtle School Martial Arts: 80 Points??Crane School Martial Arts: 85 Points??Flying Nimbus: 60 Points??Oolong’s Transformation Technique: 25 Points??Puar’s Transformation Technique: 60 Points??Frieza Army Healing Device: 240 Points??Frieza Army Combat Suit: 6 Points?
Nearly all the abilities that have appeared in Dragon Ball are available for exchange, but even the most practical early ones are too expensive for Broly to afford.
The sacred Senzu Beans from Dragon Ball, requiring 300 points each, completely shattered Broly’s plan to bring himself to near death and heal with the beans to power level.
Before long, the truck was driven back to the farm and parked in front of a wheat field. Clint Sharp looked at Broly with pleading eyes, terrified of being killed to keep him quiet.
“I need to borrow this truck. Get out.” After saying this, Broly pulled a roll of dollars from his pocket and threw it to Clint. It was found in the tire shop: “This is for your silence. Remember to keep your mouth shut. If the cops find out, so will the Reyes Group, and I believe they’d be very interested to learn from you who attacked them.”
Operating on the U.S.-Mexico border and making a splash in the drug trade, the Reyes Group had likely bribed many corrupt officers.
Broly then started the pickup truck and drove off through the desert, kicking up a trail of dust. His Combat Detection Glasses showed no human activity around the spherical spaceship.
It was too lonely there for humans to have discovered the spaceship. (Don’t overestimate SHIELD’s monitoring of Earth; Thor’s Mjolnir fell to Earth and was first found by some rednecks in New Mexico.) The front of the pickup truck was equipped with a winch for self-rescue; Broly used a steel cable to hoist the spherical spaceship into the truck’s bed.
He transported the spaceship to another hidden location, dug into the sand, and buried it. Broly drove the pickup back to the farm, checked his Combat Detection Glasses, and found only two people.
“Fairly honest,” he muttered as he parked at the farm entrance, grabbing Kakarot by the collar and pushing the door open: “Get some food!”
Lily Sharp, hands on her hips, was displeased.
“What do you think this place is, a bed and breakfast?”
Broly pulled out another roll of dollars and threw it into Lily Sharp’s arms.
“For the meal.”
Lily became even more irritated, her green eyes nearly shooting flames.
Clint quickly grabbed the money from her hands, chuckling.
“We’ll get it ready. What would you like to eat?”
With Lily about to go to college next year, his farm could hardly afford the expensive tuition.
“Just roast two cows.”
With a Saiyan’s terrifying appetite, it was uncertain whether Clint would profit from this transaction.
“What?”
Clint was dumbfounded.
…
…
Kakarot held a cow leg bone almost as big as him, gnawing on the tendons with a savage expression. The farm’s oven could only roast a suckling pig at best; in the end, they had to use a large iron spit to roast the whole cow over a fire.
The doneness of the cow was hard to manage; some parts were overcooked, while others were still raw. But the two were not picky, and the spices had Kakarot, who hadn’t seen much of the world, drooling everywhere.
Broly ate one and a half cows, and Kakarot handled the other half.
“Thump, thump, thump!”
He picked up a five-gallon jug of purified water, poured it into his mouth, wiped it, and washed his hands.
“Do you know where the headquarters of the Reyes Group is?”
Revival Points were valuable, and he had no reason to abandon this mission. Moreover, the Reyes Group had a bunch of elite monsters waiting for him to grind; he wanted to see the discrepancy between the effects of leveling up and physical training to decide how to develop in the future.
Unfortunately, although the Reyes Group was infamous, few knew where their lair was. More than the FBI and DEA, their drug lord peers, particularly Mata from Mexico, were more eager to eliminate them. The three leaders stayed in Juarez, Mexico, and never crossed the border into Texas. They remotely controlled this massive criminal organization, which included 147 mules, hundreds of hidden spots, and over ten thousand members.
