Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 46
The Continental Hotel no longer had any valuable bounties left; all that remained were minor characters with bounties of around two hundred thousand dollars each, hardly worth the effort.
Tessa had an independent, solid living capability and had already found herself a reasonably priced, secure apartment to move out of the Four Seasons Hotel. There was no longer a need to stay in New York, so Broly simply took the Nimbus Cloud back to Texas.
Earlier, Phil Coulson’s men and the Target had provided Broly with plenty of experience, along with last night’s seventy-plus gang members, raising his level to twelve. One more level up, and he would earn another attribute point.
Since he was close to gaining the next attribute point, Broly planned to use the skill points he had received at level ten.
Over time, he had observed that he was a legendary Super Saiyan. With training and physical growth over the years, his strength, constitution, agility, and perception significantly improved. He had also figured out what each of these attributes represented.
Strength was the explosive power of muscles, currently at 14 points, but Broly felt he could soon reach 15 points through development and training. His single arm could already nearly exert a force of six tons, and with the Turtle School martial arts techniques, he could momentarily unleash a terrifying force from almost eighteen tons.
Constitution was more complex, encompassing the body’s resistance to impacts, cell vitality, metabolism, bone durability, immunity, and the health of internal organs. His constitution had mainly improved due to enhanced resistance to impacts, bone strengthening through training, and natural growth from physical development.
He hesitated whether to increase his constitutional attribute. Saiyans could get sick, and Goku had even contracted a heart disease from a bacterial infection. A robust aura did not transcend Saiyan life; they were still flesh and blood. Enhancing the constitution might prevent such occurrences.
Agility was speed, nerve reflex speed, body coordination, and flexibility. Coordination and flexibility could be improved through training, but nerve reflex speed required direct enhancement.
In his fight against Daigoro, Broly’s formidable nerve reflex speed had given him a significant advantage.
Perception was the five senses and that elusive intuition. Saiyans already had much stronger sensory abilities than humans, and Broly was exceptional—not only were his eyesight and hearing remarkable, but he could also easily distinguish thousands of scents in the air.
As for the intelligence attribute, which showed no improvement, related to learning and thinking capabilities, as well as control over one’s actions.
Besides strength, all other attributes needed improvement, which gave Broly a headache. He adopted a simple and crude method: for every point added to intelligence, he would then rotate through adding points to the other attributes.
Last time he had added a point to intelligence, Broly planned to add a point to the constitution this time.
After increasing his constitution, the sensations were quite extraordinary. He could feel his body becoming lighter as if a burden had been lifted. His skin became more delicate yet tougher, his bones sturdier and more flexible, his heartbeat stronger and more vigorous, and his digestive capabilities greatly enhanced.
Saiyan’s digestive organs are inherently vital, and now Broly felt his stomach could extract nutrients from almost anything.
The effects of attribute points were truly miraculous, yet gaining one only every three levels was insufficient.
The Nimbus Cloud flew at full speed, taking less than an hour from New York to the rural areas. Broly’s sense of direction was astonishing; having flown the route once, he no longer got lost and soon arrived at the farm.
Cade Ygdrasil was a restless person. Some of the houses on the farms he had acquired had survived the destruction by the Great Ape, and he had simply moved all his belongings there.
As Broly descended from the Nimbus Cloud, he asked, “Where’s Carrot?”
“Miss Carrot is still clearing those fences; she has already cleared a third of the fences surrounding the original White Farm these past two days,” Cade responded.
“It looks like she hasn’t been slacking off.”
Broly tossed the suitcase into his arms.
“What’s the situation on the farm now?”
Cade, curious about what was inside the suitcase, had been diligently managing the farm and was well-acquainted with all matters. “We now own a total of 1,253 acres, including 32 acres of orchards mainly growing citrus, 45 acres of vegetable gardens growing various vegetables mainly sold to the capital, Austin, 200 acres of alfalfa pastures, and the rest are just ordinary corn and soybeans.”
Cade continued, “Due to insufficient manpower, the orchards are barely maintained, but the vegetable gardens, soybean fields, and cornfields have suffered severe losses. Even if we hire people now, only about a third of the remaining crops can be saved.”
Broly wasn’t concerned about the losses on the farm.
“I don’t need soybeans or corn; those crops must be completely cleared. Convert most of the land into pastures, Cade. Once the pastures are ready, bring in a batch of beef cattle, preferably of a higher breed, as food for me and Carrot. The orchards and vegetable gardens can stay, but we could diversify the types of fruits and vegetables.”
Cade nodded, aware of Broly and Carrot’s appetite.
“Transforming into pastures, even if we plant seeds right away, it will take at least six months before there’s enough feed for the cattle. However, the original 200 acres of pasture can be used immediately to raise about 120 cattle. I know a rancher who has excellent Angus cattle.”
“But Boss, we’re out of money; we only have $110,000 left,” Cade said with a wry smile. Managing such a large rural area wasn’t cheap, especially considering the taxes and operational expenses.
“The suitcase you’re holding contains $3.5 million. Don’t try to save money; continue purchasing the remaining farms, and ensure the cattle breed is of the highest quality. Also, set aside an additional 100 acres for rice cultivation.”
Texas has a subtropical monsoon climate with simultaneous rain and heat, which is ideal for growing rice. The farms here mainly use dry direct seeding for rice, which saves on the labor-intensive steps of nursing and transplanting required in paddy fields, favoring mechanized cultivation.
Broly preferred rice over bread.
“The key issue is manpower, Boss. Right now, no cowboys or farmers dare work in Rashitas Town. Even if Miss Carrot can handle a lot, she can’t cultivate over a thousand acres alone,” Cade said. Despite doubling the wages, still no one dared to come.
“No problem, I can solve this issue,” Broly declared. It was even better that no locals were willing to come; he could just capture some members of the Mata Group for forced labor.
Due to the disintegration of the Reyes Group and the Mata Group, she had become increasingly bold. Even Broly, who wasn’t well-versed in current affairs, had seen several shootings and massacres caused by the Mata Group. This trip would be an excellent opportunity to curb their arrogance and unintentionally clean up some messes left behind.
