Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 48
Pyro’s superpower is to generate and control fire. Although he can create fire out of thin air within a 30-meter radius of his body, the flames that burst from his hands reach the highest temperature, soaring up to 1600 degrees Celsius.
At this temperature, the flames are a dazzling white. Even steel would melt into molten metal.
The brilliant stream of fire engulfed Broly and covered a dozen meters behind him. The asphalt road instantly melted into a liquid. Several gunmen, caught off guard, became human torches in the fire flow, bursting into orange flames and burning to ashes within seconds.
Even the walls at the end of the fire stream melted under the high heat into magma.
“He’s… he’s dead!?”
The gunmen covered their eyes, convinced that nothing could survive being engulfed by such flames.
Eclipse, wary of Pyro’s previous flames, which seemed feeble, realized it was a trap to lure him in. If hit by those flames, even he would have been instantly obliterated.
But Pyro was not as optimistic as they were; his face showed despair because the grip on his neck hadn’t eased at all, the hand still clamped on like a vise.
“Wolverine.”
Suddenly, the surging wave of flames was neatly split in two. Pyro’s body stiffened, and then his lower half fell to the ground. A mass of viscera sloshed onto the pavement, revealing his last meal.
Amid the scorched air, Broly emerged unscathed. Even the road around him was unaffected by the fire.
Such flames were not enough to penetrate Broly’s ki defenses.
“Green Demon… it is the Green Demon…”
Someone cried out in panic, scrambling to flee.
“I’ve already told you I’m not the Green Demon; I’m Broly, the Space Patrol. You can also call me Superman.”
Broly shouted in frustration. His figure flashed, and he knocked out the fastest-running gunman. To Broly, the gunmen seemed to move as if frozen in time, quickly lying scattered on the ground.
He intentionally left a few people, including a clever one who had taken out his smartphone to film.
Eclipse was terrified, unable to see Broly’s movements, only watching as one gunman after another fell like posts.
“This is no human adversary!”
Suddenly, a disturbance in the air alerted Eclipse, who spun around and fired two blinding beams of light from his hands. Broly deflected the beams with a casual hand wave and punched Eclipse’s stomach.
“Boom!”
Eclipse felt like he had been struck by an iron rod; his vision went dark, and he lost consciousness.
Broly counted the gunmen—forty-two in total, enough to clear the land for planting vegetables and tending to cattle. He drove over in a prepared truck, threw everyone into the back, and summoned the Flying Nimbus.
Lifting the truck, Broly jumped onto the Flying Nimbus.
The truck, weighing six tons and carrying forty-two people, caused the Flying Nimbus to dip sharply before regaining its usual altitude. Broly controlled the Nimbus and flew about fifty meters high back to Rashitas Town.
In the anti-air radar, the truck appeared as a massive object. Flying high would have made it difficult to evade the surveillance of the North American Aerospace Defense Command. Fortunately, it was midnight, and flying low went largely unnoticed.
Cade Yager stood in the clearing as Broly told him he would bring a group of free laborers. Goku, dozing off, rode on Groot’s back.
Before long, they saw the truck flying in the air.
“This… this is too exaggerated,” Broly said as he lifted the truck off the Nimbus and placed it on the ground.
“These are the laborers I caught from Mexico. Bring the fire hose and wash them,” Broly instructed.
Cade, already prepared with the fire hose, was somewhat worried.
“Boss, where did you get these people? Could this cause us any problems?” He feared Broly had just randomly abducted people. Although slave labor still exists in Southeast Asia and some chaotic regions, the sudden disappearance of so many people in the U.S. could easily attract police and FBI attention.
Because of the high global demand for seafood, Thailand has an annual shortage of about fifty thousand sailors. Some fishing companies in poor neighboring countries like Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos use deceit and even kidnapping to bring local adult laborers aboard ships, enslaving them for fishing.
Sick fishermen are thrown directly into the sea, rebels are shot or beheaded, and the disobedient are imprisoned in the dark holds below deck, constantly surrounded by the stench of rotting fish and shrimp.
The fish they catch are sent to canning companies and exported to the U.S. as pet food. The U.S. is Thailand’s largest customer for fish products, with pet food being one of the fastest-growing export items, doubling in six years.
In a sense, this is a cat-eating-people campaign. Poor countries’ people trade their blood for fish that end up as pet food in wealthy nations.
“They’re all gunmen from Mexican gangs, ruthless killers, and they’re worth as little as cattle,” Broly said, picking up the hose and waking everyone with a high-pressure water stream. Without these people, Mexicans would be happier.
Under the water’s force, all the gunmen soon woke up, some choking on the water and coughing violently.
“Where are we?” Their consciousness still lingered on the moment they were knocked out.
“You’re already in the U.S., so prepare to work to death on this dark farm!” Broly turned off the water valve and pointed at the onlooking Goku: “Anyone trying to slack off will be fed to the cougars.”
The original farm owner had taken away the pasture’s cattle, so Cade emptied and cleaned the barn, making it suitable for housing people.
Under Broly’s intimidation, all the gunmen obediently settled in the barn, dressed in cowboy outfits prepared earlier.
Cade was still worried.
“Boss, I can’t manage so many thugs by myself. It’s like letting a mouse supervise a bunch of cats at work. I could get killed!”
He was just an ordinary Texas farmer.
“Don’t worry, just teach them how to farm properly. Leave the rest to Goku. Goku will make sure they behave.”
