Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 49
In a vast cornfield, dozens of people were scattered, harvesting ripe corn and shoveling the stalks.
Naturally, they split into two groups due to their backgrounds. One group centered around Eclipse, a mutant, and the other around the assassin Toxin, who worked under Sicily Falcon.
“Sixty-five,” boasted Toxin, talking about the number of people he had killed, especially those who posed a threat to Sicily Falcon’s business.
“Sixty-five?”
“Of course, I remember every single one of them. I took out six of Barlo Mata’s men just last night.”
As Toxin dug out the corn roots with his shovel, he gave the middle finger to the gunmen from the Mata group at the other end of the field.
The two sides instantly began to hurl insults at each other, but no one dared to start a fight. The previous night, they had erupted into a fierce brawl while crammed in the barn, quickly subdued by Broly.
Broly didn’t go easy on these drug dealers, testing the Global Shock Palm on a few leaders. This technique, mastered at level 7 of the Turtle Hermit martial arts, is only used when other moves prove ineffective. Had Goku not seen the full moon and transformed into a Giant Ape, the Global Shock Palm would have defeated him.
The intense energy of the move binds the enemy like electricity, causing severe pain.
Even the toughest assassins couldn’t last a second without being shocked into losing control of their bodily functions, and that was with Broly using just a fraction of his power to avoid killing valuable labor.
After punishing five people, the rest of the assassins behaved as meekly as quails, the pain too much to bear.
“Just twelve years ago, when I was new to the job, I saw her in Juarez Plaza. She was about 1.7 meters tall and lovely, wearing a red dress with jet-black hair that seemed to absorb sunlight. She was holding her son’s hand, buying balloons in the plaza.”
Toxin struggled to chop a cornstalk and then spat.
“At that time, my hands were shaking, but I still pulled out my gun and blew their heads off. Her husband was a cop, undercover among Sicily Falcon’s men, causing huge losses for Falcon in one operation. Falcon spent a hundred thousand dollars to buy his identity.”
“That woman was the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. If it were now, I definitely wouldn’t have shot so quickly. It’s such a pity.”
Toxin stuck his shovel in the ground and unzipped his pants to relieve himself.
A group of ruthless assassins gathered, discussing their most common topic: how to kill. Toxin, having killed the most and using the most brutal methods, even unnerved other assassins.
“Have you noticed? Whether he’s Green Demon or Superman, he’s temporarily left. He’s only one man, and he can’t always watch us. We just need to kill that kid, and we can escape from here.”
Toxin whispered, covertly gesturing towards Kakarot. He had been observing for a while; the seemingly useless Kade Eagle had left after lunch to buy beds and daily necessities. Meanwhile, Broly had disappeared since morning, leaving just a kid to watch them—foolish to leave such a child in charge.
At that moment, Kakarot squatted on the ground, playing with sand, while Gulu dozed off, bored. Broly had tasked her with overseeing the workers.
“Are you crazy? He’ll kill us all, and no one can stand against him!” one of the workers immediately objected.
“If we scatter and run, he can’t catch us all. Do you want to spend your life shoveling shit on this damned farm?” Toxin said, swinging his shovel to clear another corn stalk.
“It’s okay if you’re too scared to run; I’ll kill that damned girl first, and then you’ll have to run whether you like it or not.”
Toxin’s words stirred all the workers. They used to be hitmen for the mafia, with endless money and women at their beck and call. Were they doomed to shovel dirt on this broken farm forever?
But the thought of opposing Broly made them hesitate.
Toxin then slung the shovel over his shoulder and walked towards Kakarot.
Kakarot was attempting to build a sandcastle. She looked up as the venomous Toxin approached.
“What, hungry? You’ll have to wait for Eagle to return before you get to eat.”
“Go to hell!”
With those words, Toxin swung his shovel hard at Kakarot’s face.
“Duang!”
Gulu immediately sprang up, emitting a warning roar.
“Come on, beast!”
Toxin gripped his shovel tightly, planning to kill this nuisance of a cougar before setting the farm on fire to attract the attention of the US police.
He believed this would give him enough time to escape to Mexico, where Broly couldn’t find him.
“Ow, that hurts, you sneak! Bastard! My nose is bleeding! I won’t let you off!”
Kakarot clutched her hurt face, wiping the blood from her nose.
Toxin’s eyes bulged, almost popping out of their sockets. He had swung with all his might; even a strong man would have his skull shattered and not survive.
He swung his shovel again, aiming another brutal hit at Kakarot.
But before Toxin could even see Kakarot clearly, he was punched in the abdomen, the blow breaking his intestines.
Kakarot leaped up, kicking him in the head.
“Crack!”
Toxin’s head twisted 180 degrees to the back, his neck snapped, and he collapsed, his body twitching uncontrollably.
“Ha… heh…”
His trachea was kicked in, unable to utter a complete sentence.
Kakarot picked up the shovel that had fallen to the ground and swept an unsatisfied glance at the remaining gunmen.
“What’s wrong, not getting back to work?”
Broly had ordered that if they didn’t clear the entire cornfield, no one would eat, including Kakarot, who was supervising.
All the assassins suddenly worked in silence, speeding up their tasks.
Using the Dance of Air technique, Broly floated about three hundred meters above the ground. Each of his feet was weighed down with a ton-heavy iron block, training his energy.
“Hey, it’s Kade, right? You can buy one less bed and other stuff now.”
