Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 50
“Your problem now is that you have too little combat experience; to be hit by a shovel by a mere mortal is a disgrace to a Saiyan.”
Broly said, crossing his arms:
“I need to start with combat training to increase your experience.”
Kakarot looked downcast, puffing her cheeks.
“Don’t think you can get through by being cute. If you make a mistake, I’ll punish you with a World-Shocking Palm each time.”
Broly raised his index finger, flicking out an arc of energy. He found the World-Shocking Palm to be an efficient skill.
?Turtle School Martial Arts lv7: World-Shocking Palm compresses energy to a high degree and transforms it into a lightning-like form, instantly trapping and subduing the enemy?
The essence of this palm technique is the skill of compressing energy. Once highly compressed, the energy gains some properties of electricity, and its destructive power is more concentrated.
Like the Turtle School’s Kamehameha, killing a stronger opponent with a single hit is hard. However, a stronger opponent could be severely injured or even killed if it’s the World-Shocking Palm. The downside is the attack’s short range. The highly compressed energy quickly dissipates beyond twenty meters.
At the World Martial Arts Tournament, Goku’s strength was nearly on par with Master Roshi, but he was instantly subdued by the World-Shocking Palm, entirely without resistance.
Moreover, he has improved it. The transformation can be completed instantly if the energy is concentrated at the fingertips. The original World-Shocking Palm is quickly interrupted and takes a long time to gather energy.
It might produce unexpected effects when combined with Daimon Goro’s restraint techniques.
“Now, attack.”
Broly instructed.
Kakarot swallowed nervously, then quickly calmed down, shaking off her inner turmoil. She leaped up, kicking fiercely at Broly’s face.
Broly easily dodged the kick, then with a flick of his finger charged with electric light, he touched Kakarot’s waist.
“Ah! That hurts!”
Kakarot screamed in pain and fell to the ground.
“Before you learn the art of levitation, don’t jump up lightly, especially when your opponent is stronger than you,” Broly said. “Now it’s my turn to attack; be careful not to die.”
He said, instantly rushing in front of Kakarot and chopping down her head.
“Boom!”
Kakarot leaped away from the strike.
As she dodged, Broly increased his energy output. With one palm strike, he split the ground, creating a crack several meters long.
“I told you, if you get hit, you’ll die.”
Broly used the threat of death to extract Kakarot’s potential. If Kakarot made a fundamental mistake, he would directly punish her with the World-Shocking Palm.
Kakarot was naturally talented, and under such high pressure, her combat skills improved visibly fast. At least she wouldn’t be hit by a shovel without any defenses.
Their sparring wasn’t just beneficial for Kakarot; during the fight, Broly also discovered that his mastery of various martial arts was improving.
He had already accumulated hundreds of points but hadn’t exchanged them for anything yet, planning to wait until he had fully integrated all the martial arts he had mastered.
Phil Coulson was poring over a purchase order. Kade’s recent shopping spree had caught their attention, but he couldn’t see how a bunch of bedding and washbasins could be linked to the mysterious giant ape.
S.H.I.E.L.D. had nearly turned the Texas deserts inside out, even deploying Air Force AWACS for aerial searches. The giant ape wouldn’t escape radar detection if it were still in the desert.
But aside from capturing a few drug-smuggling mules, they found nothing. The giant ape seemed to have evaporated into thin air. Furthermore, a mysterious killer had recently appeared in New York, wreaking havoc and turning an Irish community into a bloodbath, while in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, an alien claiming to be Superman had caused chaos. The recent string of events had left S.H.I.E.L.D. scrambling.
“Did we figure out who this Clark Kent is?” Phil Coulson asked.
“We’ve got it figured out; he’s the illegitimate son of a Bolivian mining conglomerate’s chairman. After inheriting a large fortune, he chose to invest in farms in the U.S.,” said an agent standing beside him, pulling out the information they had gathered.
“So, he bought over sixty farms in this godforsaken place? Looks like he’ll burn through his entire inheritance soon enough,” Coulson said. He always felt something off about this farm, but he couldn’t pinpoint it. If the giant ape were a trick by Clark Kent just to drive down the prices of nearby farms, that would be even more bizarre than the recent rumors of a flying truck.
In his view, this mysterious giant ape was another unresolved mystery, and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s archives were already filled with similar cases.
After another week of searching, Director Nick Fury would no longer tolerate the wasteful expenditure of funds and manpower and would end the mission by sending them back.
Even though Phil Coulson was dedicated to his duty, he was fed up with endlessly searching for a monkey in this desert.
Suddenly, a ringtone sounded inside the vehicle.
Phil Coulson pulled out his phone and saw that it was the Director calling. He was surprised by the early call, but the thought of not having to stay in the desert anymore made him smile.
“Hello.”
Before he could report the situation in Texas, Nick Fury’s voice came through on the other end of the phone.
“Tony Stark is missing. He went to Afghanistan to demonstrate the Jericho missile to the U.S. military and was ambushed by terrorists on his way back to base. The entire U.S. military team was sacrificed, and only Tony Stark’s body has not been found.”
Coulson’s hand tightened. He knew this was serious. Tony Stark was not only a household name across America but also the chairman of Stark Industries, the largest defense contractor in the country, and the son of S.H.I.E.L.D. founder Howard Stark. Such a high-profile individual falling into the hands of terrorists, possibly even facing a live broadcasted execution, could have an impact as bad as 9/11.
“Forget the giant ape; I’m arranging a plane for you now. Go to Afghanistan and find that jerk, and bring him back to the U.S. safe and sound,” Fury said, clearly frustrated. S.H.I.E.L.D. had always covertly protected Tony Stark, and it was hard to believe that just one oversight had led to his kidnapping.
“Just when I didn’t have to look for monkeys in the Texas desert, now I have to find a playboy in the Afghanistan desert. Life is not fair…” Coulson felt like a flower wilting.
