Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 51
A heavy semi-trailer truck parked on the farm, its cargo hold filled with supplies Kade had bought during his shopping spree.
The killers were sparsely gathered around the truck, unloading the supplies. The first item they unloaded was the bunk beds purchased from IKEA; they were tired of sleeping on the cold concrete floor.
“Wait! You need to clean up the dorm before moving the beds in,” Kade now dared to scold these murderous laborers openly. After all, anyone would lose their intimidation after being electrocuted to the point of wetting themselves.
He ordered a few killers to take high-pressure water guns, thoroughly wash the cattle shed, and sweep out all the smelly, stale hay.
Using an industrial fan, they blew air into the cattle shed for nearly two hours until the persistent smell of cow dung finally faded.
Once the cattle shed was dry, Kade directed the killers to move the assembled bunk beds inside.
The original farm also had a small kitchen to feed the cowboys, but the ranch owner had taken all the kitchenware. Kade purchased a new kitchenware set and tasked two killers with cooking skills to prepare meals.
Under Broly’s strict rule, all the killers were honest and quickly transformed into qualified farmers and cowboys. In two days, they had cleared over a hundred acres of cornfields. Though their efficiency couldn’t match agricultural machinery’s, they did pretty well and didn’t slack off.
After clearing the corn and potatoes, Kade planned to divide these killers into groups and disperse them into the ranch, vegetable gardens, and orchards.
A lathe, an industrial furnace, high-pressure gas tanks, a belt sander, and other smithing tools remained on the semi-trailer.
Iron Man and Batman both possess the ability to arm themselves with cutting-edge technology. Although Broly didn’t need such fancy gadgets, relying on cards alone was unsuitable; he planned to craft some decent equipment.
He effortlessly carried the lathe down from the cargo hold.
Kade Egler was continuously adjusting these brand-new machines in the cleared blacksmith workshop. Although he was now just a joint farm owner, he had once idolized Howard Stark in his youth and dreamed of being an inventor. However, his inventions turned out to be no different from trash, quickly leading to his bankruptcy, and even his wife ran off with someone else.
“BOSS, all the machines are installed and adjusted. What do you want to make?” He turned on the power, excitedly rubbing his hands together.
“Start by making me a Batman mask,” Kade said confidently, drawing the mask on a piece of paper that Batman uses.
It was supposed to be a mask but looked more like a helmet that encased the entire head, only exposing the face’s lower half.
“Uh…”
If Broly hadn’t said it was a Batman mask, Kade wouldn’t have recognized what it was supposed to be.
“You can’t make it, can you?” Broly’s look suddenly became threatening.
“‘How is this even possible? Boss, look what I’ve knocked out for you!’
Kade wiped away a bead of sweat, picked a metal sheet, and started the machine tool. Although it had been seven or eight years since he last handled machinery, Kade quickly got the hang of it again. Under the pressure of the machine tool, the metal sheet rapidly deformed.
Since no molds were available, he had to forge the metal sheet into shape gradually. Soon, the front half of the mask was formed, and he pressed the back half, welding the two halves together with argon arc welding, then polishing it on a belt sander.
‘Boss, what do you think? Does it look exactly like the design you had?’
Kade proudly held the mask in his hand.
Broly took the iron mask expressionlessly.
‘Is this supposed to be a bat? This looks like a panda, and what’s with this creepy expression?’
He examined the mask in his hand.
The panda’s face seemed to mock him constantly. Crumpling the iron mask, he said to Kade in a deadly tone:
‘Would you dare go out wearing this mask? Make it again!’
The following period became a nightmare for Kade Eiger.
‘The ears are too rounded, make them sharper.’
‘Too sharp! Do you want to stab me to death with this?’
‘This mask’s expression is too vicious; people might mistake it for a vampire. Make it a bit softer,’
‘This expression isn’t cold enough. I want it to have a dark vibe, like it’s soaked in all the sorrows of life, lonely in the world, yet harboring compassion for humanity.’
‘Uh, make the chin opening looser; I don’t like it tight around my chin.’
‘The upper part needs to be tighter; otherwise, it might fly off during combat.’
‘Add another layer of padding inside. Otherwise, it’s uncomfortable on the forehead.’
Finally, when Broly was satisfied, Kade nearly fainted. The mask, not yet sprayed with black paint, was almost indistinguishable from its comic counterpart, with a narrow field of view and somewhat stuffy when worn.
‘Next, make me a batch of bat-shaped darts.’
Though a poor inventor, Kade Eiger was an excellent blacksmith and mechanic.
For the bat-shaped darts that Broly wanted, he used the casting method, first creating a wax model of the casting, then covering it with clay for the mold, heating it to melt the wax out, and pouring molten steel into it to cast the darts. One mold could be used for a long time and was very suitable for mass production without more advanced machinery.
He made ten molds in one go, casting hundreds of bat-shaped darts, and finished them with polishing on the belt sander.
Broly took a dart, tossing it in his hand. Its center of gravity was perfect, and its edges were sharp enough to slice easily through paper.
With a casual throw, the bat-shaped dart screamed through the air, breaking the sound barrier, and instantly traveled hundreds of meters, shattering a giant rock.
If harnessed with the power of qi, the dart’s speed could double.
‘Okay, I’m delighted with this dart now, Kade. Help me knock out a suit of armor.’
Broly’s eyes gleamed.
Kade felt a darkness before his eyes, suddenly regretting persuading Broly to buy this set of tools. The two had already been in the smithy for over ten hours. While Broly was still energetic and not feeling tired, he was nearly on the brink of collapse.
‘Once it’s done, $50,000, and it’s yours, and you can use the machines in the workshop as you like.’
Under Broly’s enticing offer, Kade was instantly revitalized.
Just as Broly was about to make some demands on the armor, his phone in his pocket suddenly rang.
‘Hello, is this Mr. Wayne? I’m Charon from the Mainland Hotel, and we have a VIP client who would like to assign you a bounty.’
