Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 56
Navy Captain Michael Murphy, Sergeant Matthew Axelson, Sergeant Danny Dietz, and Sergeant Marcus Luttrell were positioned on a hilltop opposite the base of the Ten Rings, camouflaged by thick wild grass.
They were part of a SEAL Team 10 reconnaissance squad. Axelson and Luttrell served as snipers and spotters, Dietz handled radio communications, and Murphy coordinated the command.
They recorded the astonishing battle within the camp using high-powered telescopes and telephoto lenses.
The devastating power displayed by Broly had left all four men in silence until now.
“Should we call for an airstrike?”
Dietz asked, struggling with the decision.
An AC-130 gunship was hovering high above, ready to unleash hellfire on the Ten Rings camp immediately.
Their mission was to locate Tony Stark. If it was confirmed that Stark was not in the base, they were to call in the airstrike and destroy it.
Captain Murphy popped a few raisins into his mouth for energy.
“Report back to intelligence first. That person in the black panther armor might be one of ours,” Murphy said after sipping water through a straw.
Axelson was puzzled.
“How do you know that, Captain?”
“Didn’t you notice his strange armor? Only we Americans would wear something like that.”
After destroying the Ten Rings’ base, Broly leaped down the cliffside. The rugged and steep terrain of the Afghan mountains was nothing under his feet. His speed was extreme, like a black meteor swiftly plunging into the valley and rushing towards their mountaintop.
“We’ve been spotted!”
Axelson tried in a panic to aim his rifle at Broly but found it impossible; the target was moving too quickly.
“Don’t shoot! Don’t show hostility!”
Murphy lowered his sniper rifle. Given the power Broly demonstrated at the Ten Rings camp, the four of them stood no chance.
He threw his rifle aside, took out his dog tags, and stood up with his hands raised.
“We are Americans, SEAL Team 10, and I am Michael Murphy.”
Broly had already sensed their presence, grabbed the Canon camera hanging around Murphy’s neck, crushed it, and vanished like a ghost.
“Motherfucker, I almost pissed myself.”
“I did piss myself.”
…
…
After destroying three Ten Rings bases, Broly’s level reached 13, earning him another attribute point. He immediately invested it in intelligence. This brought his intelligence attribute to eight points, reaching an average level.
His mind felt more evident, and he felt a significant improvement in his thinking ability, even in controlling his energy.
As he leaped through the mountains, he suddenly saw a field of blooming poppies. The pink poppies covered the hills, resembling clouds that had descended to the earth.
A group of women, elderly, and children are busy in a poppy field. Only by delivering enough poppy fruits can they exchange them for food from the Ten Rings. If the poppies have an issue, they could starve to death.
Under the control of the Ten Rings, the Pashtuns in this region have planted thousands of poppies. There are dozens of such poppy farms.
In Afghanistan, the Taliban cultivate poppies, the Ten Rings do as well, and even some major Pashtun tribes are involved in poppy cultivation. The total area of poppy cultivation in Afghanistan has reached 328,000 hectares.
The annual opium production is expected to reach ninety million tons. Since the U.S. military invaded Afghanistan, poppy production has continuously increased, and no side can resist the allure of poppies. Without poppy cultivation, they would lose their financial resources, unable to afford more advanced weapons or support more armed personnel. Without sufficient military power, they would soon vanish from the Afghan landscape.
Individual power is unable to change this environment.
Broly wanders through this land and is observed stealthily by a group of children in ragged clothes with rotten teeth. Some parents, to keep their children quiet, feed them opium as if it were chocolate. The rowdy children become quiet after consuming opium.
They are uneducated and unaware of the addictiveness of opium.
Broly notices that some women and elderly only have one hand left—a punishment from the Ten Rings for those who secretly hide poppy fruits.
This land is nearly dead. It doesn’t need Iron Man, Captain America, or gods. It requires a leader who can pull the people out of this mire.
Broly crosses the poppy fields without harming any plants. Suddenly, his phone rings; it’s a call from Matt.
“Hello, Broly?”
Matt’s voice comes from the phone.
“What’s up?”
Broly asks.
“There’s a big job. Are you interested? The CIA is willing to pay five million dollars.”
Matt says.
Broly’s expression turns strange, noticing how frequent big jobs have become.
“What’s the job? Who needs to be taken out, not Tony Stark, right?”
Matt coughs violently.
“Cough! Don’t joke about that; the phone is being recorded, Broly! It’s not Tony Stark. Why would the CIA go after him? It’s a strange person in Black Panther armor. Mighty, normal soldiers can’t handle him. The U.S. military has given him the code name ‘Panther Demon.'”
Panther Demon Broly feels intrigued, but he’s not sure when he’ll be able to finish the bounty on Tony Stark.
“I’m a bit busy right now. Is there a time requirement for this Panther Demon?”
He speaks into the phone.
“That’s too bad, and I was hoping to take you to a bar in Kandahar.”
Although Matt is curious about what Broly is busy with, he wisely doesn’t ask.
“You’re also in Afghanistan? Then I might just help you take out this Panther Demon. Give me your address.”
Broly sounds pleased, tired of searching for Tony Stark in the deserts and mountains. Taking down the Panther Demon might be a nice change of pace.
“Great!” Matt sounds excited as he gives the address. If this mission goes well, it could advance his career at the CIA: “Do you need me to arrange a plane to pick you up?”
“No need, I’ll be there in thirty minutes.”
Broly checks the map and locates Kandahar City.
