Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 60
The Mandarin watched in confusion as Broly gathered a massive amount of energy. He had mastered the Yi Jin Jing stolen from Shaolin and moved to the dark level of Buddha, allowing him to communicate with the cosmos using limitless true essence that flowed endlessly. Yet, he would never rashly gather such a vast amount of energy.
Regathering energy took time, even for him, needing an incense stick’s length of time to fully recover after exhausting his true essence. The three minutes following the depletion of his inner energy were his most vulnerable.
“Zha!”
With a low shout from Broly, the Ki Control Sphere shot towards the Mandarin at high speed, quickly closing the distance.
The Mandarin’s qi was incredibly swift; he leapt up, dodging the incoming Ki Control Sphere, and attacked Broly. He switched to another leg technique, using the fourth form of Wind God Legs, Thunderous Velocity, which struck with the force of thunder and wind speed. Even master martial artists couldn’t see the leg before it hit, tearing through their bodies.
But he saw Broly didn’t dodge, and sensing a strong force behind him, he felt something was off. He twisted his body and used the fifth form of Wind God Legs, Whirlwind Ruins Buildings, to shift his position.
The Ki Control Sphere passed through where he had just been; had the Mandarin not been so skilled in movement, he would have been struck unexpectedly.
“Such exquisite skill, somewhat reminiscent of Sword Control Technique, but unfortunately, this martial art, although excellently conceived, is too crude. You cannot control divine weapons, nor can you summon sword qi. Just controlling this sphere of energy poses no threat to me.”
Despite saying this, the Mandarin coveted the Ki Control Sphere technique used by Broly. One of his great adversaries was Mu Yingxiong, the Sword Saint in Central Earth. Mu Yingxiong’s Sword Control Technique had defeated him. After being injured, he was hunted by the martial arts world of Central Earth, forcing him to flee to Afghanistan to recuperate and plot his revenge.
Although crude, the method used by Broly seemed to offer a glimpse into the secrets of the Sword Control Technique and might even be adapted to create a new form of it.
Thinking this, the Mandarin suddenly used Dragon Claw Hand to catch the incoming Ki Control Sphere, then employed a technique from the Absorbing Stars Great Method to dissipate this highly condensed energy.
Broly’s energy was overwhelmingly powerful, and the Mandarin did not want to absorb it into his body, as it conflicted with his own Yi Jin Jing skills.
“Young friend, having fought to such a point, I believe you are now depleted of inner strength. Why not come and talk about my Underworld Pavilion?”
To the Mandarin, since Broly did not cultivate meridians and channels, he must run on empty after expending so much energy. Having gained the upper hand, he offered Broly a chance to step down, suggesting they sit down and negotiate.
“Roar!”
In response, Broly roared. His energy did not diminish; instead, it grew more robust, as if a nuclear-powered furnace was installed inside him, never to extinguish.
The energy around his body no longer blazed like flames but formed a protective layer, enveloping him.
“Again!”
Broly’s face was eager, extremely combative in his enraged state, unwilling to stop simply.
The Turtle Hermit Style martial techniques differed vastly from the martial arts of Central Earth, with opposite theories. Even with Broly’s martial arts talent, he couldn’t learn the Golden Bell Shield from scratch in a single battle. However, he quickly used his energy to mimic the inner power of the Golden Bell Shield.
Although he couldn’t protect his whole body like the Golden Bell Shield, leaving only a few vulnerable points, and the energy expenditure was terrifying, it was enough to block the Mandarin’s bone-chilling attacks.
“Boom!”
The ground under him collapsed instantly, and his figure appeared before the Mandarin. A punch aimed at the Mandarin’s face, with energy about to explode like an erupting volcano, magma spewing forth.
Even the Mandarin could not underestimate the punch thrown at him. He again used the Frost Cold Embrace Moon from his Skyfrost Punch, attempting to counteract the opponent with chilling force and then counterattack. But Broly simply ignored the chill creeping up his arm and swung his other hand, palm turned into a blade, chopping towards the Mandarin.
“Not good!”
The Mandarin felt his chilling force entirely blocked and diverted by an extremely tough energy membrane. He quickly changed tactics, using the Sky Cleaving Palm’s Rending the Heavens, a strike powerful enough to split mountains, and met the chopping palm.
“Boom!”
A thunderous explosion echoed, and Broly flew dozens of meters into the air. The ground beneath the Mandarin exploded like dozens of landmines, with mud waves rolling.
“Such powerful force!”
The Mandarin’s palms trembled slightly. His Yi Jin Jing skills, cultivated to the dark level of Buddha, had transformed him, making him comparable to an invincible golden body when at the twelfth gate of the Golden Bell Shield. Broly’s energy technique was crude, but his skill in releasing power through energy and his inherent strength were formidable. The force of this palm was astonishing, reaching hundreds of tons.
This oversight would have severely injured him if not for his cultivation of Yi Jin Jing.
Broly, who previously needed to conserve energy to block the invading Skysnow Qi within his body, could not use energy to amplify his strength. With an energy membrane, he could finally unleash his power without restraint.
“If that’s the case, let this old man see whose palm force is more fierce!”
Stirred by Broly’s challenge, the Mandarin let out a long howl and leapt into the air, attacking Broly, who was still airborne.
Dragon’s Regret!
With a dragon’s roar reverberating through heaven and earth, the Mandarin unleashed a dragon-shaped force qi spanning tens of meters. Broly’s pupils contracted, and he stretched out both hands, catching this palm strike head-on.
“Roar!”
The force within this qi blast struck him fully, sending him plummeting from the sky to the ground.
“Boom!”
Like a meteor, his body smashed into the ground, creating a crater dozens of meters in diameter, with dust flying and a golden dragon image pulsing with residual energy.
“This is bad, and the master didn’t hold back. This man is surely dead now.”
Wang Xiuhong used his claw technique to tear through the surging waves, inwardly lamenting. The death of a CIA expert here made the situation difficult to resolve. Those on the boat, including Matt, were so suppressed by the display of power they couldn’t even speak.
As he frantically pondered, two green energy spheres suddenly shot out from within the dust with a “pop, pop,” hurtling towards the airborne Mandarin.
Then Broly emerged from the mist, shooting like a powerful arrow into the sky.
“Is this man immortal?”
Wang Xiuhong was dumbstruck.
Two formidable figures collided fiercely in the air, with the Mandarin dominating Broly, occasionally blasting him away with powerful palm strikes. Yet, Broly seemed unharmed, continually standing back up and launching counterattacks.
Even the Mandarin dared not quickly receive his attacks.
“What kind of monster is this? Two of his ribs are broken, his arm bone is fractured, yet his combat power keeps increasing as if he isn’t injured at all.”
As the battle reached this point, the Mandarin felt the situation slipping out of control.
