Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 63
Fire Cloud Evil God led Broly into the Library Pavilion. In the middle of the spacious loft stood a large bronze cauldron from which wisps of incense smoke drifted.
Even Broly felt a sense of peace upon first inhaling the incense.
Surrounding the bronze cauldron were rows of massive bookshelves, neatly arranged with martial arts secrets that Fire Cloud Evil God had plundered. Fire Cloud Evil God took the Nine Heavens True Classic, which he had retrieved from a secret chamber, and handed it to Broly.
“This Nine Heavens True Classic is divided into nine chapters, each representing a level of mastery. Reaching the eighth level already marks one as an unparalleled master, rarely challenged. Unfortunately, no one, apart from its creator Zhang Sanfeng, has ever perfected all nine levels. Even within the Wudang Sect, few practice this skill.”
Broly took the Nine Heavens True Classic and discovered it was a handwritten copy, densely packed with calligraphy, some annotated in red ink.
“The practice of breath control, known as fetal breath, is like an infant in the womb. For ten months it needs no food yet grows and thrives, nurtured by pure essence. Without thoughts or desires, it remains serene, absorbing primordial energy. Once born, external air causes the infant to cry, and thoughts begin to form, leading to the loss of primal energy. One who can emulate an infant’s state, nourishing internal energy and maintaining a singular focus, achieves fetal breath.”
The first chapter on fetal breath left Broly dizzy, with many terms he didn’t recognize. As he skimmed further, he encountered complex Daoist terminology, making it even more incomprehensible.
Broly realized he couldn’t practice this martial art. He also reviewed the Nine Yang Divine Skill and Three Points Return to Origin, finding them similarly demanding deep martial arts knowledge.
“Don’t be discouraged, young friend. There are two more divine skills you can surely master.”
With an internal force, Fire Cloud Evil God took two wooden boxes from the bookshelf. One box contained twelve shining golden scrolls, while the other held a piece of beast skin.
“The golden box holds the Golden Bell Shield, which grants invulnerability. My sixth disciple, Crocodile Tyrant, practiced this skill and reached the seventh level, though he was eventually killed by Catman.”
“This beast skin is from Wudang. After creating the Nine Heavens True Classic, Master Zhang Sanfeng sought a simpler martial art for those less talented. After a decade of contemplation, he found nothing until he discovered ancient carvings in a hidden cave on Mount Wudang. The carvings, believed to be remnants of the Eight-Nine Mysterious Art, inspired him to create the Nine-Turn True Martial Art.”
Broly first examined the Golden Bell Shield scrolls, finding them easier than the Nine Heavens True Classic. The beast skin containing the Nine-Turn True Martial Art was simpler still. It featured 81 diagrams of human movements annotated with breath control techniques, resembling a comic strip.
“It seems you’ve made your choice,” Fire Cloud Evil God said, putting away the Golden Bell Shield scrolls. “I’ve kept a copy; this original Nine-Turn True Martial Art is yours.”
…
…
“Master used the Soul Transfer Technique to guide that alien to choose the Nine-Turn True Martial Art. Is there something special about this martial art?” Wang Xiuhong asked, puzzled.
Fire Cloud Evil God distrusted his disciples and was highly secretive, even from his eldest disciple, Wang Xiuhong.
“This Nine-Turn True Martial Art has never been fully mastered. Even Master Zhang Sanfeng only reached the sixth level.”
Fire Cloud Evil God had also attempted to practice it in his youth but stopped at the fourth level, abandoning the technique due to its extreme demands.
The Nine-Turn True Martial Art aims to sanctify the body, with each level bestowing unique powers. It surpasses the Golden Bell Shield by granting invulnerability and providing offensive capabilities. However, its greatest flaw is the immense amount of internal energy required.
When Fire Cloud Evil God practiced it, his internal energy from the Muscle-Tendon Change Classic was already highly advanced, allowing him to project energy three feet beyond his body. Yet, even he found the energy demands of the fourth level overwhelming.
“To reach the seventh level, one would need the combined power of thirty-six masters of my caliber. Broly, initially progressing quickly, will find the Nine-Turn True Martial Art too enticing to resist. Given his power, he might reach the fourth level before realizing he’s trapped, his progress permanently stalled, never to surpass me.”
The Muscle-Tendon Change Classic provided remarkable healing, protected Fire Cloud Evil God’s meridians, and allowed him to abandon the Nine-Turn True Martial Art, but not without great suffering.
“That Saiyan is a natural martial artist. Even without internal energy, his raw strength is formidable. With basic internal training, he would surpass me. I can’t let that happen,” Fire Cloud Evil God said darkly.
“Broly seems careless but is actually very cautious. He refused our healing medicines, denying me the chance to slip in the Leopard Embryo Tendon Altering Pill. By giving him the original Nine-Turn True Martial Art on beast skin, he won’t suspect any tricks and will focus on mastering it, falling into my trap.”
Broly, eager to use the Frieza Force Medical Chamber for healing, was misjudged by Fire Cloud Evil God as distrustful. This led to his choosing the unaltered Nine-Turn True Martial Art over the tampered Golden Bell Shield, whose altered healing section would leave hidden injuries, eventually causing death.
