Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 65
Kakarot lifted a cow over her head, joyfully jogging around the pasture. Gururu circled her, eyeing the cow with drooling anticipation.
“Knock knock!”
She kicked the door with her small foot.
“Cade! Cade! Another cow is dead. Let’s roast it and eat it!”
Broly opened the door and stood there with his arms crossed, watching her.
Seeing Broly, Kakarot jumped in fright, dropping the cow she was holding. Gururu, equally scared, hid behind Kakarot.
Broly swiftly caught the falling cow and placed it on the ground.
“If you want to eat beef, just say so. Why resort to these tricks?”
Without proper bleeding during slaughter, the meat would be very gamey and of lower quality.
Kakarot’s face crumpled, and tears began to fall. She pointed a finger at Cade, who had just come out behind Broly.
“Ugh, Cade won’t let me eat it!!”
Cade scratched his head awkwardly.
“These Angus cattle were bought at a high price as breeding stock. I plan to use them for breeding, so the calves can graze on the new pasture next year. Besides, I bought slaughtered beef from outside.”
Broly put the dead cow down and picked up Kakarot, wiping away her tears.
“Cade makes a good point. No more of this. I’ll take you outside to catch some tasty food.”
He summoned the Nimbus, and they sat on it along with Gururu. The Nimbus flew swiftly, leaving Texas and heading north.
Broly sensed the ground below, distinguishing the life energy of large beasts from that of humans.
“Here we are.”
He directed the cloud downward to a primeval forest area. Majestic mountains rose, with clouds drifting among the trees, and a large river flowed gently by, its banks covered in tall wild grass.
A herd of over a hundred American bison grazed by the riverbank.
Adult bison have few natural predators. They are muscular and robust, with shoulder heights reaching 1.6 meters and weights close to a ton. Only packs of wolves and adult grizzly bears can hunt these massive creatures.
“Catch a bison,” Broly instructed.
He pressed his palm down, clearing an area on the riverbank with his ki, then flew to the mountains, uprooting a dead larch tree and carrying it on his shoulder.
He split the larch into firewood and sat in the air, watching Kakarot hunt.
Kakarot, with Gururu, slowly approached the bison herd. Her small figure was insignificant next to the bison, while Gururu, as a cougar, caused a stir among the herd.
They stopped grazing and stared at Gururu with beady eyes.
“Ha!”
Kakarot suddenly leapt up, kicking the strongest bison squarely on the forehead.
Male bison often engage in fierce head-butting battles during mating season. Their skulls are among the hardest parts of their bodies.
Kakarot’s powerful kick sent the bison staggering back five or six steps, its knees buckling as it wobbled and fell.
The herd panicked and fled the dangerous riverbank, abandoning the injured bison. Though strong, bison often abandon weaker members when predators are around, just as they would against wolves.
Kakarot’s strength had grown significantly since arriving on Earth. Excitedly, she dragged the bison by its tail back to Broly.
“Broly! Broly! I caught one!”
Broly carried the bison, skinned and cleaned it in the river, and gave the innards to Gururu. The campfire roared, casting a warm glow on their faces.
Although the beef Cade bought was of higher quality than the farm’s Angus cattle, and domesticated Angus beef was superior to wild bison, Kakarot enjoyed roasting meat with Broly.
A whole bison, weighing around 900 kilograms, was mostly eaten by Broly, with Kakarot consuming the rest. Gururu, being a cougar, ate some innards and half a leg before being full.
Broly saved a leg to bring back for Cade.
After washing his hands in the river, Broly took out the beast’s skin to try practicing the Nine-Turn True Martial Art. He had claimed that healing would take twenty days to have enough time to practice both the Nine-Turn True Martial Art and Crane School techniques.
One Crane School technique, the Four Witches Technique, allowed creating of three clones, each with physical bodies and only a quarter of the original ki but no other weaknesses.
He planned to use this technique to play two roles himself.
Spreading the beast’s skin on the ground, Broly assumed the first pose and circulated his ki as indicated.
In the Dragon Ball world, all life forms harbor ki within their bodies, which can be developed through training. Earthlings and Namekians have perfected this, hiding their ki and boosting it in battle.
Most species use ki instinctively, developing specific techniques. Even King Frieza doesn’t use ki to sense enemies and damages his body with excessive ki during full-power battles, shortening his lifespan.
Possibly due to the difficulty of ki cultivation, Earth’s people scientifically and systematically utilized ki, creating meridian systems for guiding ki flow. This not only converts nutrients into ki but also absorbs cosmic energy.
In the Dragon Ball universe, the Spirit Bomb technique harnesses cosmic energy but only for attacks, not for boosting personal ki.
Since Saiyans and Earthlings have no reproductive barriers and identical anatomy, there were no bottlenecks in practicing internal energy techniques.
Broly felt a tearing pain in his right foot as the first acupoint of the Kidney Meridian, Yongquan, opened instantly. A flood of ki surged in, quickly opening the second and third acupoints, Rangu and Taixi.
The rapid opening of acupoints was almost painless.
The vast river-like ki rushed through the meridian, nearly completing the entire Kidney Meridian within a breath.
