Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 77
On the helicopter, Matt’s expression was serious.
“Broly, if the Fiery Cloud Evil God has lost that sword, can you kill him?”
The Starflash incident had caused a great loss of face for the US military, with casualties exceeding those of the Gulf War. Such a severe sacrifice couldn’t be concealed. The US military’s reputation was tarnished, and the Taliban and various terrorist groups rushed to claim responsibility.
The situation in Afghanistan had been improving and started to deteriorate visibly.
The President was furious. It wasn’t the first time the US had suffered at the hands of superhumans, and he couldn’t tolerate spending trillions annually on a military that was powerless against superhumans.
Matt had seen the sword—the terrifying demonic sword clearly used by the Fiery Cloud Evil God. The CIA couldn’t accept spending so many resources only to breed another one. His trip to meet the Fiery Cloud Evil God included questioning him about the Starflash incident.
Broly shook his head.
“Not yet. Maybe in five months.”
He needed about three more months to perfect the third stage of the Nine-Turn True Martial Divine Aura. During this time, as strengthening his internal organs required a vast amount of energy, his growth in energy was almost at a standstill.
Matt nodded, chewing gum, contemplating how to report to the director. Thanks to Broly, his status in the CIA had skyrocketed recently.
The Starflash incident made the US government highly aware of the importance of superhumans, even putting the Mutant Registration Act on hold.
They realized the US urgently needed the power of these mutants.
The helicopter soon landed at the designated spot. This time, instead of Wang Xiu-Hong, they were greeted by Lin Jie, the Fiery Cloud Evil God’s fourth disciple.
He was a timid middle-aged man, leading Broly and the others to the valley where the Fiery Cloud Evil God resided.
“Where is Mr. Wang Xiu-Hong?” Matt asked as it was usually Wang Xiu-Hong who met them.
“Second Brother stole the master’s demonic weapon, the Starflash, and escaped the mountain. Our eldest brother and third sister were killed by him,” Lin Jie explained.
Matt was surprised; he hadn’t expected the Fiery Cloud Evil God to suffer such losses. Wang Xiu-Hong was sharp and efficient, managing almost all affairs. Under his management, the Ten Rings expanded rapidly and became wealthy. If Wang Xiu-Hong was dead, the Ten Rings would be severely weakened.
This made Matt hesitant, realizing the Fiery Cloud Evil God might not be responsible for the Starflash incident.
Upon reaching the valley, the Fiery Cloud Evil God was already waiting. He immediately grasped Matt’s hand, looking apologetic.
“My lack of discipline allowed that traitorous disciple to steal the Starflash and cause you such losses. I am deeply ashamed.”
Despite being a well-trained agent, Matt found himself off-balance in the Fiery Cloud Evil God’s presence, unable to utter his prepared speech.
After crossing an artificial lake, the Fiery Cloud Evil God led everyone into the Tiantian Pavilion to sit.
“I have a formidable opponent in China, and I need the Starflash to barely fend him off. Losing the demonic weapon, he will surely come after me upon hearing the news. Therefore, I request young Broly’s assistance in resisting this great enemy.”
After a bit of small talk, the Fiery Cloud Evil God got straight to the point, fixing his gaze on Broly.
He noticed that although Broly seemed energetic and in good spirits, his internal energy, observed through the Muscle-Tendon Change Classic’s aura perception, had weakened significantly.
It appeared Broly had eagerly started practicing the Nine-Turn True Martial Divine Aura.
The Fiery Cloud Evil God looked into Broly’s eyes, not seeing the five-color halo, feeling a sense of triumph. No matter how cautious Broly was, he still fell into my trap.
“Who is the enemy?”
Broly asked directly.
“He is the Sword Saint of China, Mu Yingxiong.”
Even the Fiery Cloud Evil God’s composure faltered when he mentioned the name, gritting his teeth. He had faced smooth sailing throughout his life but suffered his worst defeat at Mu Yingxiong’s hands. Mu Yingxiong even pursued him to Afghanistan, defeating him seven times in a row.
Matt frantically signaled Broly to stop. If Mu Yingxiong could defeat the Fiery Cloud Evil God, he must be even more terrifying.
The Fiery Cloud Evil God made his offer.
“Of course, I won’t let young Broly work for nothing. Your energy is immense; even a casual move can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. Learning regular martial arts would be redundant. Even top-tier external skills like the Dragon’s Eighteen Palms would only be icing on the cake. However, I see a deficiency in your abilities.”
“What deficiency?”
Broly asked, trusting the Fiery Cloud Evil God’s judgment.
“Your movement technique. Your flying skills rely on strong energy to stay aloft and move quickly, but it’s linear. Against an equal opponent, you’ll be at a disadvantage.”
The Fiery Cloud Evil God stroked his beard.
Broly had already noticed during their fight that he struggled to dodge the Fiery Cloud Evil God’s attacks, even if his eyes could track them. His body couldn’t move fast enough to evade, and had to endure the hits with his robust body.
“I have a technique from the Kunlun Sect called the Golden Light Movement Technique, one of the top movement skills. When mastered, a flash of golden light can take you dozens of miles away, allowing you to advance and retreat freely against any opponent.”
The Fiery Cloud Evil God’s words were true, but the Golden Light Movement Technique also consumed a lot of internal energy. It couldn’t be used frequently in combat. Kunlun Sect experts mostly used it to escape, exhausting their energy to instantly move five or six miles, leaving enemies in the dust.
Broly had already practiced the Nine-Turn True Martial Divine Aura, and now this Golden Light Movement Technique—both seemed profound but were actually impractical. He would never be a match for the Fiery Cloud Evil God.
Thinking this, the Fiery Cloud Evil God handed over a cloth recording the Golden Light Movement Technique using his internal energy.
Broly glanced at the cloth and put it away. He knew Mu Yingxiong wouldn’t come; Zhuo Bufan and the others’ main target was the Fiery Cloud Evil God. He only needed to pretend to fight, and getting the Golden Light Movement Technique for free was a pleasant surprise. The Fiery Cloud Evil God was so genuine that Broly almost felt bad.
Next time, he thought, he’d confront the Fiery Cloud Evil God as Bruce Wayne to avoid feeling guilty.
He patted his chest, taking responsibility.
“Rest assured, Chief. If that so-called Sword Saint shows up, leave it to me. I’ll be the first to take his head.”
