Marvel Saiyans - Chapter 80
Broly carried the armless Iron Monk back to the Nuwa Starship using his flight technique, dropping him on the deck. He extended his hand toward Zhuo Bufan.
“What?”
Zhuo Bufan was still in shock. The Green Devil had easily defeated the Iron Monk, only to be sealed with one move.
“You’re not planning to renege on our deal, are you?”
Broly’s gaze became dangerous.
“The Green Devil is just sealed in a bottle. I can release him immediately by uncorking it.”
Zhuo Bufan almost jumped up in fear.
“No, no! I’m a man of my word. I’m a member of the Divine Spear Bureau, after all. If I say twenty million, then it’s twenty million. Not a penny less.”
He said this, but inside he felt bitter. If he’d known, he wouldn’t have casually offered twenty million. This was way over budget. He’d have to find a way to make up for the shortfall. Maybe Shaolin Temple would cover part of the cost since they owed Iron Monk’s life. The rest could be managed through Phil Coulson’s influence at S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Fiery Cloud Evil God was also puzzled. From his perspective, Broly should have been able to break free from the Demon Seal Wave, but he was immobilized at the crucial moment and sealed in the jade bottle.
In the heat of battle, he noticed that Broly would lose all reason. Even his mind control techniques couldn’t affect Broly’s judgment. How did Batman manage this?
Next to him, Matt, using a high-powered telescope, had seen the whole process of Broly being sealed. He looked anxious.
“Broly is one of the CIA’s most important assets. He must not be harmed! Fiery Cloud Evil God, you must save him!”
Broly’s relationship with the CIA wasn’t as close as Matt implied, but Broly was his friend and key to advancement. To save Broly, he could only use the CIA’s name to pressure the Fiery Cloud Evil God.
The Fiery Cloud Evil God turned to Matt.
“Are you ordering me?”
The killing intent on his face made Matt step back several paces.
“Batman, I know you’re from the Continental Hotel and here to assassinate Tony Stark. I’m willing to hand Tony Stark over to you in exchange for you not interfering in this matter.”
The Fiery Cloud Evil God spoke loudly.
“Fiery Cloud Evil God, are you betraying the CIA?”
Matt knew that the Fiery Cloud Evil God’s openly stated intention to hand over Tony Stark meant he didn’t intend for Matt to leave alive. The special forces members with him quickly drew their sidearms.
They knew that firearms were nearly useless against martial artists, but it was their only means of resistance.
“My cooperation with the CIA was merely mutual benefit. How can selling them out be considered betrayal? Moreover, if I kill you all here today, who can prove I handed over Tony Stark?”
The Fiery Cloud Evil God spoke menacingly, no longer wearing his previously kind facade.
With a clang, his disciples drew their swords, surrounding Matt and his men.
“Master?”
Lin Jie hesitated. They needed CIA support to establish themselves in Afghanistan. If the Divine Spear Bureau reported this, the CIA might not believe them but would still become suspicious.
“Yes?”
The Fiery Cloud Evil God’s gaze silenced Lin Jie, who then drew his sword.
“Sorry, Mr. Matt.”
He walked towards Matt.
On the Nuwa Starship, Zhuo Bufan looked worriedly at Broly, fearing he might be swayed by the Fiery Cloud Evil God.
“Don’t worry. I’ve accepted your commission and won’t help the Fiery Cloud Evil God. I have professional ethics.”
Broly assured, watching the cornered Matt, preparing to intervene.
“Boom!”
A steel figure crashed through the roof of the headquarters, circled in the air, and landed on one knee beside Matt.
“Agent Matt, you seem to be in trouble. Need help?”
Tony Stark stood up, lifted his visor, and smirked at Matt. His suit of armor was crudely made, covered in welding marks, but still more refined than the original Iron Man suit.
“Run! Get out of here! Report to the CIA that the Fiery Cloud Evil God killed everyone!”
Matt was elated, though he didn’t know what Stark was wearing. It looked fast enough to escape, meaning their deaths wouldn’t be in vain.
With Stark’s authority, the CIA would have to believe his testimony.
“What are you talking about? I didn’t build this armor to run away like a coward.”
Tony Stark looked disdainfully at Matt, then at the Fiery Cloud Evil God’s disciples, wondering if all CIA agents were this cowardly.
Since his capture, he’d been confined, unaware of the Fiery Cloud Evil God’s terror.
“Has the Ten Rings fallen so low they still use cold weapons? What are you afraid of, Agent Matt?”
He said, struggling to control the MK1 in the air, aiming at the Fiery Cloud Evil God.
Lacking J.A.R.V.I.S., the MK1 required Stark’s full attention to operate.
“Though it’s unethical to bully the elderly, please atone for those innocent souls, Fiery Cloud Evil God!”
Stark, having heard much about the Ten Rings’ atrocities from Dr. Yinsen, despised them and immediately fired the MK1’s only weapon.
The CIA hadn’t sent weapons, so Stark had made a pulse cannon.
“Boom!”
A pulse beam shot from Stark’s palm, hitting the Fiery Cloud Evil God.
Stark didn’t wait for the explosion, looking down smugly at the disciples.
“And you? Want to end up like the Fiery Cloud Evil God, or will you drop your weapons and surrender?”
He was smug, thinking he’d controlled the situation, unaware of everyone’s shocked and despairing looks.
“Is he an idiot?”
Bu Qingyun couldn’t help but comment.
Stark’s focus was entirely on his suit and the Fiery Cloud Evil God, oblivious to the massive Nuwa Starship above.
“No, just too arrogant.”
Zhuo Bufan shook his head.
“Clang!”
The flamboyantly hovering MK1 was kicked to the ground. The Fiery Cloud Evil God’s claw pierced the MK1’s steel armor, lifting Stark into the air.
“Flashy.”
The pulse cannon hadn’t harmed the Fiery Cloud Evil God, blocked by his protective aura.
