Marvel Shuttling the Heavens - Chapter 241
“Haha, I knew you’d end up like this!” Tony exclaimed with a beaming smile as he listened to Doctor Strange’s response. He seemed to relish the sight of Strange being at a loss.
“Mr. Stark, why aren’t you surprised at all?” Doctor Strange asked, perplexed by Tony’s reaction. Given the gravity of his admission, Stark should have been angry or disheartened, not wearing a knowing smile.
“Because I understand that Mr. Li Yue’s arrival wasn’t something you foresaw! I’m guessing you didn’t expect things to unfold this way either!” Tony explained. “Li Yue’s power is beyond what any of us imagined. Even Thanos was defeated by him just moments ago!”
“I’ve been wondering: if what you said before is true, how could we have only one chance at victory with someone as powerful as Li Yue on our side?”
“I’d bet we only lost once!” Tony declared with unwavering confidence.
“So, the person who suddenly appeared in this universe is Li Yue?” Doctor Strange asked, now understanding that the unfamiliar figure was this Li Yue Tony spoke of. “But why is he here?”
…
“Thanos, our troops are suffering heavy losses! That human named Li Yue is unleashing devastating red energy beams from his eyes, and our soldiers can’t withstand his attacks!” Corvus Glaive, retreating and fighting, approached Thanos. “If this continues, we’ll be overrun! What should we do?”
As the battle raged on, both sides faced heavy casualties. With Li Yue acting as a near-invincible force on the Avengers’ side, Thanos’ army was faring worse.
“Li Yue again…” Thanos felt a rare sense of helplessness. This man’s power was overwhelming, and even he had no way to counter him. The only chance to turn the tide was to get hold of the Infinity Stones.
“Have you located the Infinity Stones? I need them to end this war quickly!” Thanos demanded, cutting down enemies around him with his damaged blade, now blood-stained.
“My lord, Ebony Maw reported that the stones seem to be with a small raccoon. He’s already sent troops to retrieve them,” Corvus Glaive answered.
“Tell me the raccoon’s location. I’ll retrieve the stones myself,” Thanos decided, trusting no one but himself with the critical task.
…
Learning the location of the Infinity Stones, Thanos sprinted toward it with all his might, eager to end the war. But as he neared the site, a woman in red descended from the sky, blocking his path.
“Thanos, you took everything from me!” Scarlet Witch declared, her voice dripping with fury. Her hands glowed with dark red energy, and her eyes blazed with the same rage.
“I don’t even know who you are,” Thanos said, bewildered by the intensity of her anger.
“You will soon,” Scarlet Witch vowed, her voice cold as she began to levitate. Massive boulders rose behind her, and she hurled them at Thanos with her telekinesis. Fueled by her rage, her power was at its peak, and she was determined to tear Thanos apart.
…
After a fierce clash, Thanos was horrified to realize he couldn’t defeat her. Her abilities were on the verge of ripping him to pieces.
“Rain fire!” Thanos ordered, desperate to escape the crushing force of her powers. The Sanctuary II unleashed a barrage of energy blasts, creating massive explosions on the ground, heedless of their troops below.
The wizards on the ground quickly raised magical shields to protect themselves. “Whoa, I almost went too far! It’s time to end this war,” Li Yue said, ceasing his heat vision and surveying the battlefield. Seeing the Sanctuary II’s bombardment, he knew it was time to conclude the conflict.
Focusing his mental energy, Li Yue scanned the battlefield for the item he needed to end the battle. “Found it! But the situation doesn’t look good for them,” he noted.
…
A shell was hurtling toward Rocket and Groot’s position. Rocket threw himself over Groot in a desperate move, hoping to shield him from the blast.
When the explosion came, Rocket was surprised to find he felt no pain, nor was Groot harmed. “Hey, Rocket, you can hand me the gauntlet now,” Li Yue said, landing beside them and deflecting the blast. He smiled as he spoke.
“Finally! Carrying this thing around has been a pain. I couldn’t even aim properly,” Rocket grumbled, tossing the gauntlet with the Infinity Stones to Li Yue.
“Thanks. You won’t have to worry much longer. This battle is about to end with our complete victory!” Li Yue declared, preparing to don the gauntlet.
“Whoa, don’t destroy the Sanctuary II! That’s my future space yacht!” Li Yue suddenly exclaimed, vanishing from his spot in an instant.
