Marvel Shuttling the Heavens - Chapter 251
“Is there something wrong with Stephen Strange? Why is the Ancient One so anxious?” Mordo wondered, watching Li Yue’s unusual urgency. Mordo didn’t question it further and quickly followed Li Yue to meet the newcomer. As they walked, Li Yue pondered the situation.
Why had Doctor Strange arrived five years early? What could explain Strange’s altered fate if Dormammu’s premature arrival was due to Li Yue’s involvement? Since arriving in this world, Li Yue hadn’t interacted with Strange. Yet, his destiny had still drastically changed.
Li Yue decided to meet Doctor Strange in person to figure things out.
They reached the room where Stephen was waiting. Seeing him for the first time in this world, Li Yue’s curiosity was piqued. Although he had seen Doctor Strange in the other universe, this world’s Strange appeared more worn out than he remembered from the films. His hands were uninjured, so he hadn’t come to heal his hands.
“Why is he here then?” Li Yue wondered.
…
“Mr. Strange, welcome to Kamar-Taj,” Li Yue greeted, walking into the room where Doctor Strange was seated.
“Who is this young man?” Stephen asked, surprised by how young his visitor seemed.
“This is the Ancient One, Master Li Yue,” Mordo introduced.
“Ancient One? This young man? You must be joking,” Stephen exclaimed in disbelief. The title “Ancient One” suggested immense power and wisdom, yet this young man looked younger than Stephen.
Li Yue chuckled, understanding Strange’s skepticism. “Mr. Strange, don’t worry about titles. But you look quite unwell.”
Stephen hesitated but decided to share his story. “It’s a bit awkward to call someone so young ‘Ancient One.'”
“Call me Li Yue. Let’s sit and talk,” Li Yue invited, seeing Stephen’s discomfort.
“Thank you, Master Li Yue,” Stephen said, sitting across from Li Yue. He was eager to discuss his strange affliction.
“Master Li Yue, I’m here to seek a cure for a mysterious condition,” Stephen began, his voice filled with urgency.
“Calm down, have some tea, and then tell me everything,” Li Yue said, pouring a cup of tea for Stephen.
Stephen hesitated but accepted the tea. The fragrant aroma surprised him. He took a sip and felt an immediate soothing effect, calming his frayed nerves. For the first time in months, the visions in his mind ceased.
“This tea is incredible. Perhaps I was right to come here,” Stephen thought, hopeful.
…
“Mr. Strange, please tell me about your condition,” Li Yue prompted.
Stephen recounted the last two years in detail, describing the strange visions and their impact on his life. He found it easier to talk to Li Yue than with any psychologist.
“I see,” Li Yue said, understanding now why Strange’s fate had changed. Dormammu’s early arrival had disrupted events, leading Strange to Kamar-Taj earlier than expected. However, the exact nature of the visions remained a mystery to Li Yue.
“Why is Doctor Strange the only one experiencing these visions?” Li Yue wondered, feeling a growing urgency to uncover the truth.
