Marvel Shuttling the Heavens - Chapter 287
Even though Li Yue was curious, he wouldn’t expose the little girl to danger. With his abilities, it wasn’t just a herd of small dinosaurs charging at them—even if it were a pack of giant monsters, Li Yue was confident that he could keep the little girl safe. So, Li Yue stood beside her, watching the dinosaurs thunder towards them.
“I must be out of my mind!” he thought, seeing the dinosaurs get within ten meters without slowing down.
“Is this girl really confident or just plain dumb?”
To Li Yue’s surprise, the girl showed no fear or anxiety. Instead, she looked excited, as if waiting for her pets to come running to her.
This made Li Yue even more curious, so he patiently waited. What happened next justified his wait.
When the dinosaurs were about five meters away, the leading dinosaur suddenly slowed down. The ones following it also began to decelerate instantly. The five-meter distance was enough for them to slow down, and by the time they reached Li Yue and the girl, they were moving no faster than a walking pace. Then, they stopped before the little girl, stretching their heads to nuzzle her outstretched hand, showing affection as if she were their owner.
…
This astonishing scene surprised Li Yue and made Chloe and the two doctors open their car doors and walk up to Li Yue, staring in amazement at the little girl surrounded by dinosaurs.
“What’s going on? How is this possible? I’ve never seen anything like this before!” Chloe was shocked. Despite her years of working with various dinosaurs, she had never witnessed such behaviour. Although some dinosaurs were gentle and didn’t show hostility towards humans, she knew the species in front of them were not typically friendly.
“Could I have been wrong in my research on dinosaurs?” Chloe wondered.
“This is bizarre. Could the girl have some special ability? Or has she awakened some superpower?” Li Yue was just as puzzled, if not more so. He had encountered many supernatural phenomena, so he even considered the possibility that the girl might have awakened an extraordinary power that allowed her to bond with animals. He used his mental energy to scan the girl’s body structure carefully.
Unfortunately, the scan revealed nothing unusual. There was no sign of any particular energy or anomalies in her body.
…
“What should we do now? She’s surrounded, and if we try to approach, won’t the dinosaurs attack us?” After a few minutes, the girl was still surrounded by the dinosaurs but showed no fear, only joy.
“No matter the cause, it’s time to end this,” Li Yue decided. Though he couldn’t figure out the reason behind this scene, he didn’t want it to continue. He intended to “rescue” the girl from the dinosaurs.
Li Yue released his immense mental power, targeting the dinosaurs this time. Under the influence of his mental energy, the dinosaurs instantly became restless. They lifted their heads and looked around, trying to find the source of their unease. However, with Li Yue manipulating things, they couldn’t locate the cause.
Eventually, one dinosaur, unable to bear the discomfort, began to run away. Seeing a companion flee, the other dinosaurs quickly followed suit, and within seconds, the herd had left the girl’s side.
…
Interrupting the girl’s moment with the dinosaurs made Li Yue feel a twinge of guilt as he watched her gaze wistfully at the retreating herd.
“Alright, little girl, it’s time to leave. We have many more dinosaurs to see,” Li Yue said gently, coming to her side.
“I could feel their anxiety. It was like they were facing a powerful enemy; they were terrified. But there’s no one else here, so what scared them?” The girl looked at Li Yue, puzzled.
“Um, I don’t know what scared them either. Maybe they just sensed something wrong,” Li Yue replied, coughing to cover his embarrassment. “But they’re safe now, and that’s what matters.”
“True. Okay, Li Yue, let’s go. I want to see the T-Rex and the velociraptors next,” she said, her excitement returning.
“Alright, little sister, we’ll go see the T-Rex right away,” Chloe said indulgently.
…
The next part of the tour went as the girl hoped: they visited the ferocious T-Rex. They arrived just in time to watch the staff feed the T-Rex, releasing a live cow into its enclosure. Li Yue and the others watched as the massive T-Rex hunted and ate its prey.
“How cruel! I don’t want to see the T-Rex anymore. Its mind is filled with violent thoughts. I don’t like them,” the girl said, her initial excitement replaced by displeasure.
