Marvel Start With Reality Stone - Chapter 76
“This can’t be real! This isn’t true! It can’t be true!!!”
“No!”
“I don’t believe it!”
“These are all lies!”
“Lies!”
“Woo…”
“Ugh…”
Reading the information, Skye—or Daisy Johnson—was in disbelief, tears streaming down her face. Her expression was filled with unspoken sorrow. Her empty and unfocused eyes fixed on the projection while her pupils dilated. She kept repeating, “This isn’t real, this isn’t real, this can’t be true.”
“Sigh.”
“Poor girl. All this because of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s doing. Truly, S.H.I.E.L.D. deserves to be wiped out!”
Sacrificing the few for the many doesn’t sit well with Qi Jun. Though it might seem reasonable to those being sacrificed, it’s an enormous evil. Regardless of their intentions, Nick Fury and Phil Coulson’s actions were pure evil for Skye and her family.
“She looks so devastated. Better not let her spiral into despair.”
“Alright, time for a ‘Calming Charm’.”
After several cups of tea, seeing Skye still in that state, Qi Jun frowned and decided to conjure a Calming Charm.
Currently, Qi Jun’s methods are quite aggressive and unsuitable for calming someone. Using a heat vision beam to cool Skye down might roast her alive. Besides, a Calming Charm could also be useful on the Hulk, at least before Bruce Banner fully embraces his Hulk persona.
Even if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t matter. The primary goal was to help Skye out of her sorrow. If needed, Qi Jun could modify the charm using the Mutated Stone.
“One hundred energy points.”
“Hope it’s effective.”
Examining the dim energy orb in his hand, Qi Jun couldn’t discern much. He tossed it into his mouth, where it melted instantly. The energy surged into his mind, merging with his mental power, and he instinctively understood how to cast the Calming Charm and its effects, just like a skill book!
Qi Jun realized that mastering the Calming Charm also passively granted him a state of mental tranquility. The hundred energy points were well spent! Silently praising himself, he snapped his fingers. An invisible force enveloped the sorrowful Skye.
Quickly, Skye’s face calmed, her eyes regaining focus. However, perhaps due to excessive sorrow or shock, she fainted as soon as she relaxed.
With a swift move, Qi Jun caught the unconscious Skye, preventing her from hitting the luxurious Persian carpet. Shaking his head, he carried her to the adjacent lavish lounge and gently laid her on the bed, covering her with a blanket.
Watching Skye’s face quietly, Qi Jun noticed she was quite a beauty, fitting his aesthetic preferences. Still, Qi Jun wasn’t going to act inappropriately.
Despite his past, where he might have indulged in casual relationships, Qi Jun believed in mutual respect and consent. He never entertained the idea of taking advantage of someone vulnerable.
Returning to the sofa outside, Qi Jun conjured another cup of fragrant tea and sipped it slowly. Meanwhile, he pondered what to do next with Skye.
While snatching Skye away might have been a rash decision, it also intended to save her. Her beauty wasn’t the main reason for his actions.
Absolutely not!
Skye’s mother, Jiaying, the current leader of the Inhumans, harbored an intense hatred for humans due to S.H.I.E.L.D.’s actions and Hydra’s Mr. Hyde, who had dismembered her and taken her organs. Skye’s father, Calvin Zabo, was a ruthless, biopharmaceutical mad scientist who independently developed a temporary enhancement serum and had many ties with Hydra.
Reflecting on the tragedies caused by S.H.I.E.L.D. in Skye’s life, Qi Jun realized she was a nexus of three powerful factions. No wonder she later became one of the few level 10 agents in S.H.I.E.L.D., even becoming its director!
However, this connection also brought Skye immense anger and frustration.
Now, Qi Jun had shown Skye S.H.I.E.L.D.’s complete file on her, including parts about her parents—some of which were quite negative. How to proceed became the question.
With his current strength, Qi Jun could easily eliminate all threats, but why should he? He wasn’t bored or dissatisfied with his tea.
“Forget it. Better let her decide for herself.”
“I’ll just give her some support.”
“Hmm, consider it her salary for being the group’s CEO.”
Qi Jun hadn’t considered if Skye would accept the offer.
