Seeing Skye still nervous, Qi Jun smiled slightly and didn’t say much more.
“What you saw earlier is all true, including the information about your parents.”
“I understand how shocking this must be for you, Skye. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. As long as it pertains to you, I will answer without reservation. Of course, this is limited to matters concerning you.”
Qi Jun sipped his tea and smiled at Skye.
Skye took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart.
“I… I want to know, why are you telling me all this…?”
Skye asked nervously. She desperately wanted to understand why Qi Jun had chosen her. Was it because of her Inhuman heritage or the Inhuman tribe behind her?
Before this, Skye’s biggest wish was to understand why her biological parents had abandoned her. Her life had been one of hardship and instability. If not for being a U.S. citizen and protected by juvenile laws, Skye might have died long ago.
But after seeing the information Qi Jun had projected, Skye realized the truth wasn’t that her parents didn’t want her but that a sinister organization had “killed” them to train her as their super-soldier.
They believed she might have powerful Inhuman abilities.

Having forgiven her biological parents, Skye now worried about her people, fearing Qi Jun might also want her and her people for their abilities.

“Can I see my mom?”
Skye asked eagerly, missing Qi Jun’s change in expression.
“No.”
“Why not?”
Skye was stunned. Why tell her so much if she couldn’t see her mother?
“Do you think I run a charity?”
