Marvel Start With Reality Stone - Chapter 79
“What must I do to see my mother?”
Skye, regaining her composure, carefully asked Qi Jun.
“Very simple, help me manage this group.”
Qi Jun pointed to his CEO’s office. “What I value is your talent, not your background.”
“The reason I told you everything upfront was to be honest with you. I wanted to show that your family, your people, are of no consequence to me. In other words, whether the Inhumans exist or not doesn’t matter to me.”
“This world won’t stop spinning just because someone is missing. Even if a madman snaps his fingers and wipes out half the universe, life will go on! If you don’t want to help, I can even erase your memory of today and let you go back to your original path.”
Qi Jun’s nonchalant attitude startled Skye. Knowing her life was orchestrated by a sinister organization, and she couldn’t bear the thought of going back to that darkness with no memory of the truth.
“No! Please rest assured! I will do my utmost to manage the group well for you!”
Startled, Skye stood up and bowed deeply, showing her determination. As for the crazy talk about snapping half the universe out of existence, that was already forgotten.
“Alright, I’m not some old-time landlord needing your bows. Since you’ve accepted the job, let’s discuss your compensation.”
“Shh, just listen.”
Seeing Skye wanting to decline, Qi Jun waved her off. “I said I value your talent, so I won’t bind you with so-called gratitude. What you deserve, I won’t hesitate to give!”
“Money is basic. You’ll get the salary of a group CEO.”
“As the future CEO of the group and one of my right-hand people, you’ll naturally receive additional rewards!”
Qi Jun finally revealed his intentions.
“This day and age, ideals and slogans won’t cut it!”
“I’ll give you two options, and you can choose either. Of course, you can choose both if you meet the qualifications!”
“First, as an Inhuman, I can directly activate your superpower, letting you gain the abilities you were meant to have.”
“Second, you can wish for any ability, no matter how bizarre or unusual.”
With the Mutated Stone in hand and energy reserves often at a million points, Qi Jun had no fear of whatever ability Skye might wish for. Besides, he only promised the chance to wish for power, not the strength of it. Want Magneto’s powers? No problem! Whether you get a third-level, fourth-level, or even fifth-level mutant’s power depends entirely on Qi Jun’s discretion. If Skye proves loyal, the strongest power isn’t out of the question.
“Do I have to choose?”
Skye hesitated. She had lived in hiding for so long, never experiencing such a situation—managing a multi-billion, even trillion-dollar group, activating superpowers, and wishing for abilities. It all seemed absurd. But reality was staring her in the face.
Pinching herself hard, Skye winced in pain. This was real.
“Then, I’ll choose to activate my inherent ability!”
After a moment of hesitation, Skye decided to go with her natural power.
“No problem!”
A look of expectation crossed Qi Jun’s face. Despite Skye’s years of hiding, her knowledge in such situations was limited. Qi Jun had guessed she would choose her inherent power.
With a snap of his fingers, the space around Skye shifted. Chairs, floors, and plants disappeared. In an instant, a transparent, perfectly square glass enclosure surrounded Skye.
“Skye, the crystal behind you is the source to activate your powers. Shatter it, and you’ll unlock your hidden abilities.”
Seeing Skye startled, Qi Jun smiled mischievously. Skye turned and saw a large iron hammer and a crystal as tall as herself. Her body urged her to break it.
“Just break it?”
Skye walked towards the hammer, suppressing her body’s honesty, still asking Qi Jun. He didn’t respond, giving her a meaningful smile instead.
Confused but driven, Skye grabbed the hammer and lifted it high. With a heavy thud, the crystal shattered not into pieces but into a mist filling the glass cube. Skye’s silhouette disappeared.
At that moment, a blue light flashed, forming an electromagnetic field. A man with no eyes suddenly appeared—Gordon, the Inhuman teleporter.
“You didn’t come looking for trouble, yet you want to steal from me?”
Qi Jun’s eyes flashed coldly. With a thought, he teleported behind Gordon and knocked him out with a hand chop. Grabbing Gordon by the collar, Qi Jun teleported again.
In an instant, Qi Jun and Gordon appeared in the space station on Venus!
