Marvel Start With Reality Stone - Chapter 87
Hearing the Ancient One’s words of shock and seeing a faint green glow flash through the “Eye of Agamotto” pendant on her chest, Qi Jun’s lips curled into a slight smile.
Joking aside, with the Mutated Stone, which was even more precious than the combined six Infinity Stones, how could Qi Jun be observed by mere time magic? However, Qi Jun chose not to explain. Instead, he picked up his teacup and continued to savor his tea. Sometimes, maintaining an air of mystery could instill a greater sense of reverence in others.
Did Qi Jun want the Time Stone that lay before him? Absolutely! He wanted it more than anything. But he didn’t make a move because he knew he couldn’t defeat the Ancient One right now. Even if she couldn’t kill him, what would be the point? Making an enemy, especially one who could traverse endless dimensions, would be foolish. Never underestimate a Sorcerer Supreme who had lived for centuries; they represented unparalleled strength and wisdom. Anyone who underestimated the Sorcerer Supreme wouldn’t even know how they died in the end.
…
“I’ve lived a long time.”
Seeing that Qi Jun had no intention of explaining, the Ancient One reluctantly sat down, enduring the backlash caused by using the Time Stone. She hadn’t expected that even when observing Qi Jun directly and activating the Eye of Agamotto, she would still face backlash. Fortunately, with the Time Stone’s buffer, although the backlash was stronger than when she was in the desert, the impact on her was less severe.
But it was precisely because of this that she believed in Qi Jun’s gentleman’s agreement. Anyone who could make her face backlash despite using the Time Stone must possess something even more powerful. And those who owned such treasures were invariably proud individuals who wouldn’t make promises lightly, but if they did, they wouldn’t break them easily.
“Whether protecting Kamar-Taj or safeguarding the Earth, I have done everything within my power!”
“If it weren’t for my desire to find a suitable successor, sustaining me, Sorcerer Qi Jun, you might not see me here today.”
“There is an old saying in the East: ‘Every generation has its own fortunes.'”
“Just as you said, through the river of time, I have seen many events that will likely happen, that must happen!”
“I have lived long enough!”
The Ancient One reiterated this sentiment.
“I have done all I can; the future should unfold in its own way!”
The Ancient One changed the subject. “I believe in the promise of a sorcerer. Since you have no intention of forcibly taking the Eye of Agamotto from me or any Kamar-Taj sorcerer, then you are a friend to Kamar-Taj!”
“However, to achieve what you mentioned earlier, Sorcerer Qi Jun, I need you to demonstrate your power!”
“Kamar-Taj’s friends cannot be weaklings!”
Looking at Qi Jun, the Ancient One thought of many things, overturning many previous assumptions. Qi Jun’s divine nature was evident. For him to cause backlash even with the Time Stone in use meant he possessed something even more formidable. There was no need to investigate Qi Jun’s origins further. Knowing the detailed information about the Eye of Agamotto indicated a strong lineage behind him. The Ancient One just needed to know that Qi Jun had the strength to be a ‘friend.’
As the Ancient One said, a strong person would never befriend the weak.
…
“Naturally! Even if you hadn’t suggested it, I would have challenged you. An exchange of skills between sorcerers is beneficial for both parties!”
Qi Jun displayed a gentlemanly demeanor, seemingly unbothered by the Ancient One’s scrutinizing gaze. However, internally, Qi Jun was speechless. Ultimately, this world still depended on strength! If he lost the fight with the Ancient One… well, the outcome wouldn’t be pretty.
…
“Please!”
Without any superfluous words, seeing Qi Jun agree, the Ancient One extended her hand, and with a flash of magical energy, the space around them shattered and expanded like a mirror.
Mirror Dimension activated!
“Incredible!”
Qi Jun felt the fluctuations throughout, finding the Ancient One’s Mirror Dimension magic to be quite skillful, more so than his Spatial Displacement magic.
“Well then, let’s begin!”
In battle mode, the Ancient One didn’t waste words, conjuring a glowing golden sword with a flick of her hands.
“Figures, Marvel sorcerers just can’t stay away from close combat!”
Qi Jun muttered under his breath, but he had no intention of engaging the Ancient One in melee combat. Sensing the Mirror Dimension’s nodes, Qi Jun’s form blurred, warping through space to appear a kilometer away on a rooftop.
“Hehe, time for these melee-prone Marvel sorcerers to experience the terror of a mobile artillery unit!”
With sharp eyesight, Qi Jun saw the surprise in the Ancient One’s eyes, likely not expecting him to retreat so quickly. But Qi Jun wasn’t running away; he began conjuring a ‘Compressed Space Cannon.’
Compressed Space Cannon: Also known as the Air Compression Cannon, the principle is simple. Using spatial power, it compresses surrounding air into a small projectile. Then, using spatial teleportation, it launches the projectile at the enemy, releasing the compressed air to cause massive explosions. The power of this attack is directly proportional to the strength of the space mage’s abilities. The stronger the space containment, the more air compressed, and the greater the destructive force.
As Qi Jun compressed endless air into the ‘Compressed Space Cannon,’ he also conjured spatial blades, dimensional waves, and dimensional slashes, hurling them continuously in the Ancient One’s direction.
With super intellect, multitasking was effortless for Qi Jun!
