Nagato in One Piece - Chapter 1
From the darkness, I awoke to an endless blue sky, with the sound of waves crashing nearby.
Nagato instinctively clutched his heart, cautiously looking around but finding nothing unusual. His mind was in a daze.
“My heart is still beating?” Feeling the strong pulse in his chest, Nagato was surprised. “What’s going on?”
Uzumaki Nagato, who outwardly appeared to be the heir of the Rinnegan and the prophesied child, was actually just a pawn chosen by Madara Uchiha. However, that was all in the past, as the current Nagato was a transmigrator.
In his first life, he was known as Han Lin, just an ordinary student who inexplicably found himself transmigrated into Nagato on the day he “awakened” the Rinnegan.
The original Nagato knew nothing about the Rinnegan. Later, after learning about its origins and experiencing significant changes, he overestimated and overly relied on it, almost becoming arrogant. But Han Lin was acutely aware of the underlying schemes. As soon as he understood the situation, he was filled with dread, not daring to entertain any rebellious thoughts against the heavens.
Fortunately, the timing of his transmigration allowed for an excellent start. After calming his mind and organizing his thoughts, Han Lin used his foresight to develop in secret, pretending to be the cowardly Nagato for many years. He ultimately transformed himself into the Nagato seen by Obito and Zetsu. Finally, he seized an opportunity to kill Obito with the Human Path’s ability, catching him off guard.
Nagato’s plan was to eliminate the highly resilient Obito first, then deal with the weaker Zetsu. Due to Zetsu’s ability to hide, both had to be present; otherwise, if Zetsu hid upon hearing the news of Obito’s death, Nagato would never find him, leading to endless trouble.
If the plan succeeded, Nagato would have killed both Obito and Zetsu, leaving him free to roam the world without worries, as Madara would remain buried underground and Kaguya sealed away.
Unfortunately, Nagato’s efforts were in vain. Just as he was about to dispose of Zetsu after killing Obito, Black Zetsu, though shocked, did not panic. He formed a hand sign, and Nagato’s body froze, unable to move.
Like Obito and Rin, Nagato had a heart control seal placed on him by Madara early on. Seeing no point in questioning Nagato, Black Zetsu immediately tried to control him to perform the Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique to revive Madara. However, Nagato was prepared. He had never practiced the abilities of the Hell Path and Asura Path, making the Outer Path incomplete and unusable, almost infuriating Black Zetsu.
With no other options, Black Zetsu pierced Nagato’s heart, killing him. Just as he was about to take Nagato’s eyes, Nagato’s body disappeared, unbeknownst to him.
Back to the present, Nagato stood on the shore, unharmed. Overhead, a bird with a white hat and a red cloth bag around its neck flew by.
With extraordinary eyesight, Nagato, unsure of his current situation, stretched out his right hand, using the Universal Pull to capture the bird from over a hundred meters away.
“Squawk—squawk!” The bird cried out, clearly unhappy with Nagato’s rough treatment. The bird was so large that it seemed Nagato was holding its neck rather than catching it.
Nagato intended to use the bird and its package to deduce his location. However, he was completely taken aback upon pulling out a newspaper and seeing its contents.
The headline read: “Navy Foils National Conspiracy, Former Warlord Crocodile Captured!”
“Squawk!” The news bird cried again as Nagato unintentionally tightened his grip on its neck.
Nagato released the news bird, taking all the papers from its bag. He found two familiar wanted posters.
“Straw Hat Luffy: Bounty 100 Million Berries!”
“Roronoa Zoro: Bounty 60 Million Berries!”
Seeing this, Nagato confirmed that he had transmigrated again, this time into the world of One Piece!
“Squawk!” The news bird cried once more, flying away after pecking Nagato on the head, leaving behind the papers and the nearly crumpled wanted posters. From its human-like expression, it was clear Nagato had made it onto the bird’s blacklist, never to receive news from it again.
Awakened by the bird’s peck, Nagato ignored its anger, feeling a mix of emotions.
Years of disguise and suppression in the Shinobi world, Yahiko and Konan’s aspirations, relentless training to break free from control, and the despair of being killed by Black Zetsu—all of it seemed to disappear with the world changing.
“I couldn’t have done better even if I tried again.” Reflecting on twenty years in the Shinobi world, Nagato concluded, “The heart control seal was a dead end from the start, impossible to break.”
He had learned various techniques under Jiraiya, abandoning the Hell Path and Asura Path to make the Outer Path incomplete;
He had been unable to save Konan, fearing to summon the Ten-Tails, not daring to cripple his powerful Uzumaki physique, only for Yahiko to survive while Konan died;
From the start, He pretended to trust Obito and Zetsu to gain more time to learn Madara’s techniques and Yin-Yang Release…
But all was futile against the heart control seal.
“My heart is still beating, and I’m in a new world. What does this mean?” Nagato looked up, his Rinnegan seemingly piercing the sky, feeling a mix of humiliation and anger at being manipulated.
The new world left Nagato lost, confused and angry, as his sacrifices over the past twenty years seemed like a joke.
However, Yahiko and Konan, his close friends and their experiences were real in the dark twenty years, leaving a bit of warmth and light that became Nagato’s last motivation and meaning.
“Without Madara and Kaguya, no one can control me with the heart seal. I am free again.”
“But war, famine, and slavery also exist in this world…”
“Yahiko, Konan…”
“I will make Akatsuki’s ideals a reality in this world!”
