Nagato in One Piece - Chapter 30
Inside the collapsing Bullfighting Arena, Lucci, Kaku, and Jabra leapt from their seats to Nagato’s side.
They had originally planned to fight. Sugar’s death and the toy rebellion signaled that they should act. Nagato struck at Doflamingo during his moment of rage and distraction, followed by their ambush to create a second wave of attacks.
But now, the situation had changed. Nagato’s single attack had already taken out all the executives, including Doflamingo’s entire crew. They couldn’t even find their targets as the family members were blasted away.
In fact, as the people around them collapsed, they stood still, shocked and speechless by the power and destruction of that single strike.
“Immediately! Split up!” Nagato’s command brought them back to reality. “Evacuate the people here!”
He himself didn’t move, focusing on quickly restoring his chakra. Without saying a word, Lucci, Kaku, Jabra, and Bruno dispersed to kick away falling rubble, rescue people, and guide the audience to safety.
However, their efforts were insufficient. Despite their physical prowess, CP9 lacked the special Devil Fruit abilities needed to protect everyone in the collapsing Bullfighting Arena. Moreover, with ninety percent of the crowd unconscious, their task was monumental.
Nagato remained standing, not because he couldn’t move but because he couldn’t use his Rinnegan abilities yet. The Super Shinra Tensei, which channels all one’s chakra into a single, maximum-power attack, had left him completely drained.
While Nagato could still save people using taijutsu like CP9, he chose to prioritize restoring his chakra, as it was the most efficient way to help.
The formidable Uzumaki clan’s physique shone in this moment. Within a few breaths, he had already restored a regular ninja’s full chakra capacity. With each passing second, his chakra replenished at an accelerated rate.
But one Donquixote executive had not been blasted away by the previous attack: Diamante, standing in the arena.
“Half Moon Funeral!”
Diamante leapt from the collapsing center to the stands, unleashing his strongest attack—a destructive slash aimed at Nagato!
He had witnessed the attack on the family and knew how powerful Nagato was, having seen him blast even Doflamingo into the sky. Seizing the moment when Nagato seemed vulnerable, Diamante struck with a lethal move, aiming to kill this formidable enemy in one blow.
Diamante’s timing was impeccable. After all, he was an executive in the New World, skilled in taijutsu beyond Nagato’s level. This sneak attack from behind was unavoidable unless Nagato overexerted himself to use Shinra Tensei.
Yet, Nagato had no intention of draining himself further, preparing to use Earth Release: Hardening Technique to withstand the slash.
At that moment, a powerful voice rang out from above Nagato!
“Donquixote villain!” A man wielding a double-handed longsword descended from the sky, intercepting Diamante’s Half Moon Funeral. The two attacks clashed and canceled each other out!
The man before Nagato, standing on a single powerful leg, his body strong and his face heroic like the statue of the 3,000-win gladiator in the arena, was none other than the legendary gladiator of Dressrosa—Kyros!
He shouted at Diamante, “The suffering and darkness of this country for the past eight years end today by the sword in my hand!”
With that, Kyros, supported by his single leg, charged at Diamante!
Kyros’ sudden appearance saved Nagato. Soon after, Law arrived by Nagato’s side.
“Nagato, as planned, I’ve brought reinforcements, but you’ve disrupted your own strategy,” Law said half-jokingly. “You’ve caused quite a ‘commotion’!”
He referred to the scene witnessed by everyone near the royal castle—Nagato blasting the entire Donquixote Family, including Doflamingo, into the sky!
Though his words were joking, Law remained cautious.
While he felt relief seeing Doflamingo take a heavy hit, his knowledge of Doflamingo’s strength and the lingering fear from years of oppression made him wary. Despite Nagato’s impressive strike, he couldn’t be certain Doflamingo was truly defeated.
So, with a serious expression, Law asked, “What’s next, Nagato? Our forces are ready, but still weak. If we don’t confirm the Donquixote members’ fates soon, our current advantage will quickly reverse!”
“Forget about that for now,” Nagato’s words cut off Law’s urgent plea. As Law opened his mouth, Nagato continued, “Can your ability control this arena?”
Kyros fought fiercely against Diamante, and Lucci, Kaku, Jabra, and Bruno struggled to rescue civilians. The situation around them continued to deteriorate rapidly!
“Hurry and answer me,” Nagato’s tone was flat, but Law sensed his urgency. “That guy’s slash further damaged the support structure. The arena’s collapse is accelerating!”
Rocks and columns fell continuously, the crashing sounds relentless. Law looked in the direction Nagato indicated—at Diamante. Shaking his head, Law said, “I might be able to expand ROOM to cover this area, but I can’t stabilize such a massive structure.”
Two years later, his surgical techniques would ignore mass, volume, and quantity, but now, his control was far from perfect.
Hearing this, Nagato nodded and raised his hands.
“Hey! Nagato!” Seeing Nagato’s stance, Law realized what he intended and shouted, “Are you trying to stop the collapse? You idiot! That last attack took a huge toll on you. Now you want to use your power to stop the entire arena? Even if you want to exhaust yourself, don’t drag us down! Save your strength—we still have to deal with Doflamingo!”
“Don’t worry,” Nagato said as he began to rise. Kyros and Diamante stopped their battle, and the exhausted CP9 turned their gaze to the airborne Nagato.
They heard him say, “Doflamingo and the Donquixote Family are just a few dead men. But here, there are over 30,000 living people.”
Nagato, unwilling to damage his body with another attack, summoned a massive amount of chakra. The energy radiated from him, creating gusts of wind. The power of the Deva Path activated once more.
“Shinra Tensei!”
