Nagato in One Piece - Chapter 38
In the vast rocky area on the outskirts of Dressrosa, two groups stood facing each other from a distance, with Nagato’s group of six looking notably tense.
Standing beside his Black Knight, Doflamingo seemed pleased with Law and the others’ reactions, with a leisurely smile. However, upon meeting Nagato’s gaze directly, his expression darkened.
Nagato remained still, his calm demeanor only fueling Doflamingo’s anger.
“Scared stiff, Uzumaki Nagato?” Doflamingo chuckled darkly. “After provoking me, now that we’re face to face, you have nothing to say? You’re such a boring opponent, fufufu!”
“I’m just letting you finish,” Nagato responded, his eyes unwavering. “The information about Devil Fruit ‘Awakening’ was new to me, and I think you made a good point.”
Facing Nagato’s eyes, which held no fear or respect, Doflamingo felt a surge of anger. He lunged at Nagato, the Black Knight mirroring his movements.
“So,” Nagato spread his arms wide as if welcoming the challenge, “have you found a way to defeat me?”
“Shinra Tensei!”
The Rinnegan’s power activated, and the Black Knight shattered!
Under the immense repulsive force, Doflamingo struggled to resist, but it felt like trying to stop an invisible tidal wave. His face twisted under the pressure, and he was hurled hundreds of meters away, crashing into the massive rocks.
Whoosh!
Through the dust and debris, a shadow shot out like a spear aimed at Nagato’s chest.
“Overheat!” Blood dripping from his mouth, Doflamingo sat in the rubble, extending his right hand.
Nagato sidestepped the attack and thrust his right hand forward before Doflamingo could strike again, releasing another blast of repulsive force.
“Spider Web!” Instinctively, Doflamingo erected his defensive web of strings, but the Rinnegan’s power was an invisible force that mere strings couldn’t stop.
Under the impact, Doflamingo spat blood again, his body driven deep into the rock.
“Nagato-san…”
“Nagato-sama!”
Law and Kyros, standing behind Nagato, were speechless and shocked.
Just moments ago, Doflamingo had seemed invincible, pressing them to the brink of despair, but now Nagato was beating him down.
However, they were momentarily swayed by their emotions. Doflamingo was still one of the world’s most powerful figures. His brief inability to counterattack wasn’t the norm. As he stood up from the rubble, he looked like a demon emerging from hell, walking toward Nagato.
“Defeat you?” Doflamingo advanced slowly, each step turning the rocks and ground beneath him into white strings. “Every time I see scum like you, even for a second thinking you might beat me, it makes me furious.”
Tens of thousands of fine strings wove together, forming a tidal wave that surged towards Nagato. “You deserve to be torn apart by me! Ever White!”
Seeing the white tide rolling from the sky and ground, Nagato sprinted sideways, finding an angle to attack amidst the gaps. He thrust his palm toward Doflamingo. “Shinra Tensei!”
“I’ve told you before, you idiot, using such a convenient fruit so crudely won’t work on me!” Doflamingo raised his right hand, and more white waves surged up, crisscrossing before him. “White Shield!”
Boom!
The impact of the repulsive force shattered countless strings, but Doflamingo managed to block most of it, though he was still pushed back several meters, choking back blood.
But he had finally blocked Nagato’s attack!
Meanwhile, the surging Ever White tide closed in on Nagato. The needle-like tips of the strings either stabbed or wrapped around him.
However, the expected hit didn’t come. Nagato evaded each attack with incredible speed, even using the white waves as a platform to run and leap from!
“What’s with this guy’s agility and speed? In that case…” Doflamingo gritted his teeth, crouched, and slammed his right hand into the ground. “Sea Wave, White!”
Instantly, the rocky ground turned white, transforming into strings that rippled and made it difficult to stand. Law and Lucci quickly retreated, barely escaping the onslaught. What Nagato would face amidst these conditions was unimaginable.
But to their shock, and Doflamingo’s, Nagato continued moving as if on flat ground, dodging attacks and launching another Shinra Tensei from mid-air.
“White Shield!” Doflamingo hastily paused the Sea Wave’s control, combining five white waves in front of him to absorb most of the impact, but he was still pushed back ten meters.
“This annoying ability!” Doflamingo muttered, frustrated. The sheer force was hard enough to handle, but being formless made it even more challenging. Even his White Shield couldn’t completely nullify Nagato’s attacks, and each hit worsened his injuries.
“Thousand Arrows, White!” Forced to act quickly, Doflamingo stopped the Sea Wave and crossed his arms, causing the broad expanse of white strings to form countless arrows that shot toward Nagato.
As the countless white arrows converged on Nagato, he paused, then ascended into the air.
“Bastard!” Doflamingo growled, his teeth aching with anger. Already struggling to control the massive amount of strings, he pushed himself forward while guiding the strings to pierce upward.
As he closed in on Nagato, the latter fired another Shinra Tensei downwards.
The White Shield barely held, but the accumulated force made Doflamingo cough up more blood.
Watching the battle from a distance, Law and Lucci’s group were speechless, exchanging worried glances.
“It seems Nagato-san can handle it,” Law said, watching as the fight moved further away.
Grabbing his sword tightly, Kyros said with determination, “That’s right, we’ll have to rely on Nagato-sama!”
As they conversed, Law quickly treated the wound Doflamingo had inflicted. Just then, their enemies arrived.
“After all this running around, it’s finally our turn.” Jabura, filled with battle intent, stepped forward.
Opposite them stood four of the Donquixote executives: Trebol, Pica, Lao G, and Dellinger.
Refusing to be outdone, Law approached with a mocking smile. “Why only the four of you?”
“Law! Is it really you, G?” Lao G responded, ignoring the question.
“Señor Pink is with Diamante,” Trebol whined, his long snot trailing. “We have the Tontatta Princess, so he’ll recover soon.”
Pica remained silent while Dellinger scolded Trebol. “Trebol-sama! You gave away important information!”
“Ah?” Trebol sniffled. “I guess so, but it’s too late for that to matter.”
“The Tontatta Princess?” Law repeated, then remarked, “So that’s why you recovered. Damn it, Nagato’s intel was incomplete. This is a hassle.”
As the two sides exchanged words, Kyros, already impatient, charged forward with his sword raised!
